I was upgrading the TV systems in our Northstar Condo Lets say it is not my area of expertise but I wanted to do it I had to make numerous trips to Carlson’s Their attitude never changed Every time I was greeted with a smile and a sincere How can we help you and they were very helpful Next time I will have Carlson do the entire project.

Best little computer/​tech shop in the area. They are just like my shop but up in the mountains. Had a Ubiquiti AP that I needed for a project and super helpful. Staff was very responsive and helpful.

The team at Carlson Electronics is exceptional. Russ, the owner is all about good customer service, and Glen, his top technician can do ANYTHING. We live in the middle of nowhere off the grid and they got us all set up with a Verizon booster antenna, DISH satellite TV, and even an internet satellite. I’m online in the middle of the Tahoe National Forest miles from anything! Amazing. These guys are the best and aren’t we all lucky they are right there in Truckee? Thanks for taking good care of us all these years «Team Carlson!»

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!
After having 3 HD projections screens go out on me, I just needed new bulbs/​lamps for them. I really didn’t know how to do it, so I took them to Carlson’s electronics. After waiting about 20 – 25 minutes (Russell was the only one working and was with other customers, plus there were more customers waiting behind me), Russell asked how he could help. I explained to him how I needed new bulbs and he went on to tell me that my 60″, 56″ and 54″ HD projection screens were outdated and should be thrown away. They were 7, 5, and 4 years old. He never offered to fix them and said it would be a waste of time and money. He did not even take a look at them and made me feel like I was wasting his time. He mentioned buying a new TV from him, but when I said I have 3 TV’s that just need bulbs, he continued to tell me what I had was outdated. These TV’s are guest room TV’s and worked fine… however Russell was not ANY help at all, and did not want to help or offer suggestions.
After leaving very unsatisfied, I went home and GOOGLED the bulbs for each TV, ordered all 3 for less than $ 100 total and YouTubed how to install them. ALL TV’s work GREAT now:) I was willing to pay up to $ 400 to get these fixed, but Russell did not want my business and made it clear. So my advice is stay away, save your time and money on repairs by just googling and youtubing the info. Carlson’s Electronics does not have time for you!!!
I’ve been living in Truckee for 15 years, and my only other experience here was bad too. I’ve found out since this incident that most people in town feel the same way via Facebook. Don’t go here… you’ve been warned!!! Small town shop=equals high prices and bad customer service. Save your time and money and just go to best buy in Reno… OR Costco always has the best deals on TV’s…just compare prices, you’ll see!!!

We brought in our old Sanyo projector that suddenly stopped working. After trying a few things out Russell has figured out what the problem was and fixed it. We were ready to give up on it, but very happy we can still use it. The fee was very reasonable. Highly recommend.

I brought in a car stereo for them to install. Friendly, professional, they even preset time and a few stations. It was less than Best Buy way more convenient. Would recommend them.

I just had a Alpine stereo put in my truck. They diagnosed the problem with my old stereo, removed it and put in a new bluetooth stereo for a good price and $ 25.00 labor! Both Russell and Matt were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend them for your electronics needs.

My tech crazy family brought our ps3 and wiu with us to the Red Wolf Lodge and their tv’s don’t accept the connections so we came here and Russell got us the adapter we needed, problem solved but NOTICE !!! The map is WRONG … Drive down w. River st NOT At the intersection of River and 89!!!
