Whenever I make a trip to Tahoe, it always includes a visit to Tahoe Candle! Yes, I’m a huge fan!

They are having some great deals right now because they are moving locations soon. I didn’t get a date for the move but by the looks of the store it’s going to be soon. The candle’s here are beautifully hand crafted items. I picked one that had little fir trees in it which is slightly cliché since I live in Tahoe, but my house has all wood interior, so who cares! There was another man there when I was there and he got a really cute holiday decoration for $ 5, it was regularly priced $ 15. Good deals, good people, and neat candles.

Ok, so I’m not one to shop at places like this… but being that I come to Truckee a few times a year to stay at my family cabin, I’ve come in with friends and family just to browse. Everything is laid out beautifully, with small candles together, large ones together, etc. It’s fairly easy to see all of their beautiful products but you also don’t feel overwhelmed by too much of a selection either.
It was probably about 3 years ago when I first broke down and bought one of their candles. It was a small white hollowed out candle with two small green leaves on the outside. It seemed so simple and elegant. It wasn’t until I took this candle home and actually used it that I began to appreciate it’s beauty. You place a tealight in the center and watch the beautiful glow.
Now I had an accident with my old candle and am planning going in on my next visit and getting a few more for my room (with flowers this time), at which point I’ll update this review on the staff.
I recommend the candles as gifts, as I’ve given out a few to friends who adore them just as much.

I have bought 3 different custom wedding invitation candles that have been the hit gift each time with the bride and groom. Great local biz, great customer service, and extremely unique gifts and home décor, and a fun pooch named Coco!

This place has some of the most beautiful candle holders and candles I have ever seen! Not to mention all the wood work and signs that have sayings. The one I got «Welcome to the Zoo» — very fitting for my house!

One of my favorite things about Truckee is the people who live there. There are so many who fall in love with the area and the lifestyle and then figure out how to stay and make a living. One of these days, I may join them. The entire area seems to be filled with artisans working in all types of mediums.
The owner, Craig, started his business many years ago and it has been great to see the store grow over the years. Candles I purchased several years ago, are still going strong. So of course I keep coming back for more.
My favorite designs are the spring aspens, since it is so symbolic of the area. But there is a wide variety of floral and hand-​painted animal styles depending on what makes you smile. They also have a nice supply of scented candles if that’s your thing.
Great owner, great product, great town. He also gave me some fabulous tips about new places to try during my latest visit. How I love Truckee!
