This is a fun store to visit. We always stop in when we are in downtown Truckee. They offer many Eco products for babies and toddlers but they also offer unique recycled furniture and other specialty gifts like jewelry made out of old bottles and new clothing created from older clothes. My favorite thing during this visit was the chairs made out of old skis.

Eco friendly down to the actual structure of the building. It doesn’t get much more green than this folks ;) I defiantly got the vibe that they actor to echo friendly baby products. There were cute toddler tops and pants made with green materials. I really liked the baby bottles and soppy cups made out of glass with the rubbery protective surface. Genius. The store is so Eco friendly you know you can’t go wrong. They make it easy to feel like you can trust the product you are buying.

I have wondered into TahoeBlue on multiple occasions and have always walked out with a great new product that is function, affordable and great for the environment. TahoeBlu carries an eclectic collection of random items that are great. Additionally, the inventory changes and I’m always finding new and exciting merchandise. Beyond just the products, the store employees and owners are just great. Everyone is local to the community, cares about Truckee and gives back. Next time you are in Truckee, check out TahoeBlu…

Update: the owner posted below — there’s no possibility that I told anyone at any time that I’d prefer to pick up the refund vs have it mailed, but being an entrepreneur myself I appreciate that employees make mistakes. Since the owner apologized and Paypal’d the refund money I’m bumping up to 3 stars. — original review This store used to have Sodastream carbonator refills. I brought in empty canisters and they said they were out of stock but would take the 5 empty canisters and phone me when they got refills. Great! A month passes. I am not called. I call to inquire about what’s going on — person doesn’t know what I’m talking about, promises to call back. Two weeks pass, I am not called. I call again. They no longer carry Sodastream but they’ve already sent my empty canisters back, which means now I’ll have to pay to ship new ones. In addition, the empty canisters are worth $ 15 apiece when returned to Sodastream. I ask for just the $ 75 and ignore the shipping issue, and they tell me to come in and get my money. I come in — person at the shop has no idea what I’m talking about because apparently no record was kept(seriously??). I ask that she call the owner — there’s some issue with this so it happens while I’m outside the store, and the owner has said they can reimburse me but she erroneously recalls 2 canisters, not 5, and now cannot be contacted again today. I am finally called again and told that the owner admits there were 5 canisters. I ask if there’s any possibility I could be sent the money to avoid yet another trip. Verbatim response is «None at all». I ask that some note or record is put down so that whomever is behind the counter will be able to handle this when I next come in. I get the distinct impression they think this is being unreasonable — I guess I’m supposed to just hope that the owner’s on hand next time? So in sum, they quietly pocketed my refund money and have made me call and visit repeatedly just to get it back, and their attitude seems to be that I’m inconveniencing *them*. I hate to give a bad review to a store with a laudable mission statement, but you can’t make that many mistakes in a row and not expect a negative review.
