Just as the store name implies, where to go to when you have tourists in tow who need /want clothing that screams Tahoe or Truckee or want bear(y) items. I know that Truckee loves to cling to its Tahoe«roots», but I’ve always been stumped that a town that is more a dozen miles from Tahoe’s shorelines is still considered part of Tahoe. Whatever, not my monkey, not my circus. Back to the store. Also very convenient because lots of people are unaware that while mountain temps may soar to 80s and 90s during the day, it’s still quite cool in the early morning and at night. Hence, the spontaneous need to shop for fleece.

Place has some good souvenirs. My low rating is due to due to the cashier attendant. She was on her mobile phone for at least 10 – 15 minutes and this was on her personal phone. There were other customers in their and even when they paid she was still on her personal phone. She could have at least put her phone on hold while she helped people or better yet ended her personal call while the customers entered the store.

Walking down main and stopped in and was greeted by clerk, no drinks she said. So far not anything to complain about, I stayed outside until I finished. My two sons, 9 and 6 started looking around. Just three minutes in I was told not to let my son read the children’s book. I asked why. The old lady said people who are not interested in buying books that have been gone through and messed up. Wow I said. How can he tell if he would like to buy it? Kids always mess things up. I remarked that if she insisted on taking that tone we would not be spending our money with them. We left with no purchases.

Was looking for hoodies that are pullovers(no zippers) and they had a cool one that had Lake Tahoe patches on it. The shop is small and if you want a souvenir for the area, this store is a good choice.
