Went for the bar. Super friendly service. Had half a dozen drinks and each of them was great. The blonde bartender from Modesto had a great attitude. Try the turtle martini… goes down like candy

We came up to the village looking for a Starbucks and when that was closed(who closes a Starbucks at 3pm???) you go for a martini instead! Enter C bar! We walked in thinking it too was closed and we’re happy to be greeted by the adorable Lindsey the mixologist extraordinaire! She was awesome! Gave us some of her«favs» off the list. First up: Ichago Crush. It was sooo good! Peach vodka with muddled strawberries and some other yummies. Next: Creamsicle. It was like a 50⁄50 bar in a cup! Then for extra measure we were treated to: The C bar. A chocolate bar in a cup! Divine! The lovely Lindsey was so nice and gave up tons of tips of places to check out while up here but honestly, I think we will just head back to the C bar.

Terrible service! The ditzy blond that was our waitress had to be reminded to bring our silverware, plates, drinks, etc… Fries were horribly salty! My lettuce was wilted! The chili taste sour and the grilled cheese had no flavor. I will never eat here again. And we were the only table being serviced. There were a few people at the bar.

Horrid customer service. Disliked the very sweet bubble gum tasting martini. Bartender refused to exchange it. They threw it away and still charged 13 $. Poor service, mediocre atmosphere… Limited menu and worst customer service ever.

What a joke! $ 20 for peppermint schnapps and hot chocolate. The fine dining restaurants ON the lake are half the price. Cheap décor with zero ambiance. Will NEVER go back!

Went to the chocolate bar for hot chocolate and they were out of hot chocolate. The bartender didn’t seem to care or try to do anything to make up for the fact that they were out. I ended up getting a beer and was ignored the rest of the time.

Love, love, love. The service was great and their martinis as well as their garlic fries were delicious. Definitely going back. My favorite was the german chocolate martini.

Great burger– the bar staff is really relaxed and nice– my toddler just needed some munchies and they brought her a whole plate of sliced pita(which she loved!). They have no problem with us ordering at the bar and enjoying a beer and burger in front of the fire pit. Great spot. They even gave us a bottle of water and cups to just relax with at the fire pit while we waited for food(unexpected, and a nice perk). Will definitely eat lunch here every day on the slopes.

YAY, I’M A FAN only because it’s at the base where you can snowboard/ski down to after a nice day at Northstar. Otherwise, it’s an A-OK place. I like me a warm cup of anything with alcohol. Chocolate Bar definitely has great signature cocktails and martinis that will help you with your sweet tooth… but I have noticed that they tend to skimp on the alcohol… and water it down with other things – or maybe I just have a really high tolerance… BUTANYWAYS. I ordered a hot chocolate from here as well… and I’m pretty sure it was either just a chocolate powder packet with milk and whipped cream :(Much Disappointing. Such Sadness. I’ve never ordered any food from here, so I can’t speak anything to that, but I think next time at Northstar, I’ll come by once more and try their food. :) Hey, if you’re looking for a «different» experience outside of pizza and a straight mixed drink at the end of your day at Northstar, give Chocolate Bar a chance and see if it meets up to your expectations!

We went for the chocolate fondue for dessert. We called 1st and we’re coming in right at closing. They kept the kitchen open for us. Our server was Autumn, she was very nice.

The chocolate items on the menu are good. I really loved my hot chocolate(contrary to what a previous reviewer said) and the chocolate fondue is really fun and delicious. The real food however, took an hour even though my party ordered very simple items and the restaurant wasn’t very busy. The size of my meal was tiny even though my cousin ordered the same thing and his was much larger. Tasted alright, but I wasn’t impressed and we didn’t appreciate the long wait. Overall, I wouldn’t really recommend it for dinner but it’s a great place for desert and fun drinks.

This place with a great location and fun outdoor fire pit has been in the Village for a few years now. Sadly they just can’t seem to get it right. Every single time we go they are out of something… and it is generally a staple — like ice cream for the milkshakes, coffee or the chocolate brownies. The inside is drab and needs a fun facelift. They used to have an amazing donut hole platter with 3 different chocolate dipping sauces. Not sure why they don’t offer it anymore as it was such a hit! Someone needs to seriously step in and fix this place!

The manager is unprofessional! The waitstaff is rude and they are mostly Anglo blonde white girls. They should hire waitstaff who know how to do the job well and will keep customers coming back. Not just dumb blondes with big tits! This place sucks!

Mehhhh… How can a restaurant call themselves the«Chocolate Bar» and make mediocre hot chocolate? It was so watery! It’s difficult to make an unsatisfactory cup of hot chocolate for someone who’s been in the cold and rolling around in the snow for 8 hours, yet it happened. The chocolate fondue was much better than the hot chocolate(hard to go wrong with a menu item that has chocolate, cheesecake, marshmallows, and brownie in it), but not good enough since I expected it to be stellar. Again, if your restaurant is named«Chocolate Bar,» the quality of your chocolate better be up to par!

We spent a week at the village and only saw it open once. We really wanted to try it too, but we passed it by given our previous disappointment. If they aren’t interested in sticking to the hours of operation posted on their door, perhaps they should tell people it’s open whenever they feel like it. It might help their Unilocal status out a bit.

I think the German Chocolate martini is the best drink: It has Malibu rum, Dekuyper crème de cocoa, with frangelico and fresh cream. I’ve had it three times, and it’s consistently fantastic. They sprinkle either chocolate shavings, or toasted coconut bits on top. Two other martinis are also good: The turtle martini: Vanilla Vodka, Butterscotch liquor, Irish Cream, caramel syrup and cream. The C bar cocktail: van Gogh dutch chocolate vodka, Godiva milk chocolate liqueur and cocoa syrup: The white chocolate raspberry martini is good, not great. Skip the Tiramisu cocktail: It just didn’t «wow» me. Some menus and/or prices are not on their web site, so I added them to the photo gallery.

This bar is a joke. A few friends and I were out trying to bring the new year in right. We witnessed the manager(Marcos) molest my best friends little sister and her friend. After that the manager proceeded to kick out everyone that we knew for no reason… Talk about a terrible time. I would definitely go to Northstar Village again for New Years, but never the Chocolate Bar again.

I don’t know… I liked it! The place is located right next to where all the skiers/snowboarders end their slope so I think the location is perfect for grubbing. They have alcohol and hearty foods, such as chicken strips, fish sandwiches, chicken wings, etc. Big Recommendation to anyone who spent their day on the slopes!

Oh man… I honestly don’t remember much about my chicken brie entrée, or about the Kobe beef sliders(besides the fact that the rest of the table loved them). What I do remember was the Turtle Martini with Frangelico. Gorgeous presentation, sweeter than an angel’s kiss, and oh so decadent. I will have dreams of sipping that delectable drinkable desert in the warm sun watching the gondola whisk people up the Northstar Hills. Heaven!

A real place where you can get chocolate wasted? Count me and my giggly girlfriends in. We hung out at the bar and relaxed by the fire outside while sipping on yummy martini drinks like white chocolate mint, turtle, and chai. All were fantastic with a beautiful chocolate design on top. Tip: we did want to get seated, but they really don’t seat you unless you are going to order food. And, we just had dinner previously to stepping inside. Instead we just hung out at the bar and enjoyed the nice fire pit outside. This is a posh place in the Northstar Village! It’s small inside, but very modern! Stop by for a fun night in the Village!
