There are dozens of better appraisers in the Truckee area. My bank hired Judy to do our appraisal so I had no choice but to use her. I have been in real estate for 30 years and have dealt with scores of appraisers. Judy is a nice lady and personable, but a below average appraiser, in my opinion.

After interviewing several appraiser’s, we settled on Judy because she indicated that she had enough contact’s and experience to come up with an accurate appraisal price. When we finally received the appraisal after 3 weeks of waiting and having to call her to see what was taking so long, the appraisal did not set a dollar value to the home and was done and a very unprofessional manner.
Instead of giving a professional opinion of the home value, she gave us an estimate with a $ 150,000 dollar spread. We had already done this ourselves and did not need to pay a claimed expert to tell us that she really did not know the value of the home. We hired a second appraiser and got the answer.
