Moe’s BBQ is just not great. The BBQ sandwich was piled full of really bland meat and had the tiniest drop of sauce on it. Luckily we were dining in and extra sauce was easy to get, but if I had taken that home without getting extra sauce I would have been upset. My husband and I shared something that they call«banana pudding» which was only vaguely reminiscent of banana pudding…

Moe’s smoked turkey is wonderful, especially when eaten with their white barbecue sauce. It’s moist and tender and the sauce has just enough kick to spice things up. Served with their sweet and tangy slaw, and you have quite a meal. My only complaint is the size of their drinks. I wish they offered a larger size.

My boyfriend loves Moe’s BBQ. Like love loves! Sometimes I wonder if Moe’s comes before or after me on his list of loves… but I digress. I arrived right at 11AM on Saturday when they opened. There was a vehicle parked in the drive thru. no one was in the car! I pulled to the speaker and started saying«hello, hello?» and got radio silence… Okay? Pulled my car around and went in. They were a disaster that morning and were running around crazy. I placed my order(two plates) to go and waited patiently for the food to be ready. Once it was I took home to eat with BF. Opened up the trays. my order was wrong. Ughh. I was really disappointed. I shouldn’t have to do this, but I’ve learned my lesson and will check before I leave to verify they placed the right sides.

Their pulled pork sandwich is just ok. The drive thru makes it easy for dinner on the go.

This review has nothing to do with the food, as I am a big fan as referenced by my previous review. I came to Moe’s on a Thursday evening. I decided to go inside because the drive-thru takes a while sometimes. There were about five parties seated in the restaurant. Most were already eating. I ordered my food, which I got the last of the Thanksgiving Sandwich at 5:30 pm. It’s tasty. While I was waiting on my food I observed the restaurant and the clientele. First of all the restaurant was dirty and looked as if it hadn’t been mopped or swept in days. The employees looked like they had just rolled out of bed, and one was particularly interested in hanging out with one party of customers. Interestingly enough, these particular customers were separated into a table of adults(I use that term loosely) and a table of kids. Everyone was playing on their phones. The employee kept going back and forth to hanging out with these«adults». She would be hugging all over them sitting up next to them, then returning to the kitchen. It was evident this party of customers had no intentions of eating, they were just hanging out so they could see their friend. As she walked back into the kitchen she grabbed her drink, which was not marked properly and sitting right next to the tray of cornbread. At that point I almost asked for my money back, but I was hungry and ready for dinner. Moe’s: Your food is great and your restaurant used to impress me with service. Please clean it up and examine your employees. Otherwise, I’m afraid you’ll be closing up before too much longer.

This place was an absolute jewel to find! Thank you Unilocalers! The smoked chicken wings are definitely worth all of the hype! Good size great flavor and very juicy. The white BBQ sauce pairs excellently with the wings and the ribs! That is saying a lot for me as I am normally not a fan of vinegar based sauces. The ribs were also very good(and head and shoulders over that dreamland place Yuck!) Tender with still a little pull and a good flavor to them! It was a toss up between trying this place and John and Nicks. I am so glad I chose the former! Definitely check this place out if you are in the area!

We hadn’t been to Moes in quite awhile, until tonight. Hubby ordered bbq plate, with beans and banana pudding with their great cornbread. He consumed every bite. I had the shrimp moboy plain, and it was wonderful. We will not stay away for was a great meal.

Moe’s BBQ is a favorite of mine. I visit here once or twice a month, usually on my way home from work. I came here twice this past week — once for lunch and sat down inside the restaurant, and once grabbing some food on the way home. The drive through was fast, and the staff friendly — which is the norm for them — never had a problem. As far as the sit down visit, I was waiting on a prescription to be filled and came and got some lunch instead of driving all the way home. The wings were delicious, though a bit greasier than normal. Sides were great, and enjoyed a bit of basketball on the TVs before I left. My friends and I love this place, and I know I’ll be back.

Moe’s offer great veggies, and their skillet corn rocks. Also a Friday fave is the grilled Mahi sandwich!

Love love the chicken sandwich. The fried green tomatoes are great. Cornbread is like a slice of sweet cake. Staff is always friendly. Small portions for a southern bbq restaurant but probably what they are suppose to be.

No frills little Mom N Pop type BBQ place. A little short on atmosphere, but they more than make up for it with the food. Awesome home-cooked style food, and lots of it. Order at the counter and they bring it to your table fast. The only place I’ve seen that has Cheerwine soda! My new favorite soft drink! Can’t wait to go back.

Very good, authentic menu. Pulled pork sandwich was piled high & delicious. Collard greens and broccoli casserole did not disappoint. Totally satisfied.

I love this Moe’s! Their smoked wings are so good! They come with red ranch dipping sauce that’s fantastic, cornbread and a side, too. The mac and cheese is pretty good but can sometimes be dry on off days. My husband and I eat here at least once a month and have never been disappointed. I get the smoked chicken sandwich with the white and red bbq sauces and it is one of the best BBQ chicken sandwiches by far. The sweet tea is always fresh and not overly sweet, which I love. Also reasonably priced. In my opinion, it’s better and much cheaper than Jim and Nick’s, and you don’t have to tip a waiter. You can’t go wrong with that!

I can’t believe no one has reviewed this place! It’s easily my favorite place in Trussville. I love everything I’ve ever had there, and their sweet tea is amazing. Their banana pudding is a lite different, but it’s super yummy! My favorite is when they have the BBQ quesadilla on special, but their bama style BBQ sandwich is a good bet, too!

The first time I ate at Moe’s in Trussville was shortly after their Grand opening. To be honest, the experience left me unimpressed. The food was lacking in flavor and the Bar-B-Q was poorly cooked. Last week, I decided to give them another try. I was very impressed with the food and the service was great. My lunch was a BBQ all white meat chicken sandwich. The BBQ had a very smokey flavor and the bun was toasted to keep it from becoming soggy. My next visit to Moe’s was later the same week for a family dinner. The sweet ladies at the counter recommended the family meal, usually a take-out item that the offered to serve in house. Her recommendation, ultimately saved us over 15.00. They brought it all to the table«family style» and I served everyone. Made me feel a little less guilty about not serving a home cooked meal. I must say there Banana Pudding was very different from the normal banana pudding served in the south. It had a whipped like texture and had a hint of fresh vanilla bean. This is offered as a side item, so you can get a meal with two sides and include desert as a side! The kids really enjoyed it and so did I. My husband even went back today and got the Redneck Nachos, he was highly impressed with the pork. I really enjoy their fries, just crispy enough and not greasy. Overall the restaurant is very clean and the food is great. Many improvements have been made since our first visit. I would have given them 5 stars but there are a few improvements that need to be made to the décor and to the bathrooms. The dinning room is fairly small and would not be good for large groups of 6 or more. Parking is also an issue if they are crowded. We will definitely be back.

After eating at the Moe’s in Panama City Beach, we decided to try this location before heading back to California. It may not have been quite as good as the one in PCB, but it’s still stellar BBQ We will definitely return

Pricey and just meh. BBQ was mediocre, service was mediocre, sides were actually pretty horrible. We had BBQ sandwiches and they were filled with gristle. Probably won’t be back.

I like that this BBQ place has sandwiches with slaw on them. At other places, I have to order a seperate side of slaw to spoon some on my sandwich. You can also get them without slaw. You get a sandwich and 2 sides and a drink for $ 9 + tax. The sandwich is huge. The sides not so much but the bbq is the showcase. I’m not a fan of their banana pudding. It’s just a boxed pudding with cool whip and a nilla wafer. Didn’t really taste like bananas. More like vanilla. I do like their cobbler but they don’t have them all the time. And the Mississippi mud was just chocolate pudding.
