I’m begging you if you are reading this, DO NOT move there. You can find something better for cheaper. This place tried to slap me with «damages done» to the apartment. Which there was no damage done. They also didn’t let me know that my partner had abandon the property and now they are telling me
I owe them $ 4,000 PLUS damages.
This place is only getting a one star because I can’t give it a zero. Or more accurately a negative star. After what I’ve been through with this apartment. They Should OWE ME after all the bullshit I had to go through.
Expensive, no one ever fixed anything when we called. The apartments are FAR from «luxury»

Great locating but the location will blind you to the low quality apartment complex. When you enter the property the up to date leasing office and fitness center will blind you to the out dated apartments. It doesn’t matter witch level you live on noise will always be a problem. They sale on the fact that they are a smoke free apartment complex but they do not hold renters to that. A few neighbors complained about black mold but they moved out befor anything was fixed and the next renter was stuck with the th problem. Road issues and building issues are very apparent. There is cracks threw out the roads threw the complex and also structure damage on the building I lived in caution tape around the sinking floor of the walk way on the third level. When signing are paperwork giving are thirty day notice and befor the leasing manger ever saw are apartment we asked about the likeliness of my wife and I getting are deposit back she replied we won’t. Please do not rent here you will be disappointed.

I recently moved from out of state and picked a place to live Primarily because it was close to work. And I wanted to scout the real estate market before we sold out home out of state and bought one here.
Lease signing experience: Christian was the personification of customer service. And then, unfortunately, I had to deal with the rudest of the property managers that I have ever interacted with in my life. Her negotiation style puts the ISIS to shame. I quote her statement «well, if you have to discuss any specific rules then you ain’t have to sign a lease to stay here «. Really?
Gym: I concur with the other reviewer that one or more machine seems to be down for maintenance.
Cleanliness.: the hallways could use more maintenance. I.e. Cleaning.
Overall. Excellent location. Terrible management. I really thought by now the property owners would have fired the property mgr after reading all these reviews. This place could really use a customer centered sr mgmt. that will turn this place around.

I dont know what type of business that has client or tenants in this case is as unaccommodating as Alara Hedges Creek apartments are.
I work in Portland and traffic can be unpredictable. Their hours of operation are from 9 – 5 which is a regular work day for many people. They are not flexible with their renters schedules. There have been times that I have driven past the leasing office and are closed prior to 6 without notice.
I currently live in a one bedroom here at Alara and it is nice. However, my friend and I were looking into leasing a 2 bedroom apartment. We both work in Portland and left early so that we could get here before they closed at 6. I spoke with Amy Jo prior to our arrival and she had told me that they stop giving tour when it is dark. We got to the complex at 5, due to it being «dusk» outside they deemed it unsafe for their staff to give a tour.
There are no statements that say they stop giving tours at dusk on there site. Only when you are already onsite in the leasing office. Dusk cannot be defined as it changes on a daily basis. The way that the management handled this was unprofessional and rude. The only person who even cares about the renters is Franceshca. She will return calls and is always friendly.
I wish that I would have looked around more before renting from this company.

I have been living here for 3 yrs and each year they have raised my rent. I live in a 1 bed room apartment on the 3^rd floor. In the summers it gets so hot. When i first moved in in 2011, there was different management who allowed us to have airconditioners in the windows. Now, they wont allow us to have those at all and we can only have the ones that stand inside the apartment which takes up more space. They told us that its because of «how it looks» that made them change that rule. We are not even allowed to have BBQ gas grills stored or used on our decks. I dont feel like i can call this place home.
Also, I think they are false advertising this place being a luxery apartment. I dont have any stainless steel appliances or even granite counter tops. Everything is built so cheap. The walls are so thin, you can hear everything that your neighbors are doing from having sex to peeing or coughing. For a 1 bed room i now pay $ 995. You have to pay pet rent which is $ 20 if you want your pet to live there. Parking is a hasel in the evenings because it gets full pretty quick. There are no assigned parking spots unless you pay for it which is another $ 25. For a covered spot its $ 35! Its such a rip off! The only reason i’ve stayed this long is because it is close to my work. I’d rather look else where for a better place to pay rent at. Its not worth it to stay another year. After my lease ends, im outta here! Also, the residential staff lack at customer service. fanchesca is the assistant manager and shows she cares about the renters and their needs. However chrissy cox is the manager and does not do her job well. Everyone else… horrible! Oh yea, In the work out facility, there always an «out of order» machine that doesn’t work. So your paying for ammenities that are defective. My neighbor who moved out and forgot some picture frames in the patio storage was charged $ 350 for forgetting it there and they threw it away! You will never get your $ 200 deposit back because they find reason to take it. Alot of the reviews ive read on this complex have previous tenants who didnt get their deposits back because alara hedges creek makes something out of nothing. Seriously guys if you are looking for a place to live, dont choose this place. It sucks! TENANTS MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR RIGHTS BEFORE RENTING HERE. THEY WILL RAPE YOUR WALLETS!

This site wouldn’t let me leave minus stars. When I moved in the staff was so sweet and helpful. Not to mention sign a lease you won’t be sorry hahaha while living there underneath the herd of elephants, I discovered mold around every window. No and yes I said no parking, and the very thoughtful maintenance staff that spent hundreds of hours blowing garbage and bark dust everywhere even covering my patio, that after almost a whole year of a nice gas barbecue being used I was told I could no longer have it while around the complex there were many even my neighbor kept barbecuing daily. If you can put up with the noise the bark dust everywhere oh an a very crowded pool, please live there but don’t expect to get any deposit back I left my place immaculate even did touch up painting re calking and carpet cleaning they gave me a hefty bill bad times

Pros:
Clean, well kept grounds.
Quiet — If a noise problem, it is handled immediately.
Nice layout.
Light and bright in most rooms.
Nice workout room and pool.
Things to know:
Appliances are old and no frills. They seem to work fine, but at these prices I would expect better.
Carpet is old.
Cons:
Significant rent increase at end of lease.
Significant charge if rent is late. I was unable to pay through the online system and was one day late returning to Oregon. Late fee was over $ 100 and I have never, ever paid late before.
I travel a lot and it is very difficult to reach management by phone. Generally voicemail, which doesn’t allow me to leave a message if I’m using Skype. Because I am frequently out of the country, this is how I call. It is a headache to get things handled.
I can hear my neighbors when they do things in the kitchen. It’s not terrible, but it is a bit noisy.
I can hear my neighbor’s TV when they watch games. I’ve gone down there and it isn’t on that loud. Since it is generally not late, I don’t make an issue of it. But, it does seem like they should be able to listen at a reasonable volume without me hearing it.

Moved out, Thank god. This would be a great place to live if you are over 80 and dont mind paying too much for a «luxury» apartment. it looks luxury at first glance… those counter tops are not really granite. The toilet seats… yes they are made of plastic. They also fall apart quickly and im not over weight.
There is a serious black mold problem they would never fix… or even have inspected.
Ants live in the walls.
The dryer we were given took at least three runs to dry cloths, and they would not clean dryer vents even though it is a huge fire hazard.
Rules include but not limited to:
1. No smoking on your balcony
2. No smoking on premises
3. No smoking in your apartment unless at least 10 feet away from a window
(this limits you to bathrooms and closets only)
4, No bar b q PERIOD (PROPANE OR CHARCOAL)
5. NO window air conditioning units, (they do not have built in hvac)
5.a when they do not let you grill out in the summer or dry cloths on your balcony it gets waaaaay to hot to handle with the oven and broken dryer running and no AC)
Thankfully they do alow stand up little stick fan ac things… but we all know those dont work
6. No dryer cloths on balcony even with a nice clean contained cloths drying rack.
7. you can not have ANYTHING on your balcony except «approved patio furniture»
Which excludes anything that does not match or does not look new, no plastic
8. no skate boarding
9. no bike riding
10. no roller blading
11. no skate boarding
12. no roller skating? who roller skates anyways… but it’s a rule
I lived by my self on the 2^nd floor in between selling one house and building another and the third floor man sounded like he weighed 700 lbs stomping at all hours of the night, and would bank on the ceiling if I ran the bathroom fan while I pooped. (so that must have been really loud in his apartment, that or he was just a miserable human being)
The down stairs people would complain (not often) of my foot steps. (bless thier hearts they were nice people)
In short I compare this place to some death camp in north korea… Hated every minute of it… another un related note… it really bugs me when someone drives a really nice car, and lives in a shit hole apartment… get your priorities straight and guy a house, or… don’t complain when you know that you agreeing to share walls and ceilings/​floors with multiple people. I would rather live under the burnside bridge, at least the homeless people wont complain when you smoke, or dry your cloths in the warm air :)

— next door to the police station
— I always get a parking spot right in front of my place
— grounds are super clean
— I like the apartment layouts
— when I moved in they had a few water bottles for me in the fridge, toilet paper in the bathrooms, a large Hedges Creek mug with a bunch of little snacks in it, and they put a ‘welcome home’ keychain on my key ring which I thought was pretty rad
Cons
— no hot tub
— the closest garbage dumpster to my location seemed annoyingly far away. Like on several occasions I put the garbage in my car and drove it to the dumpster to save time on my way out to wherever.
— appliances aren’t new (or old)
— from my couch I can hear people if they walk outside my door (I always wonder if they can hear me)
— you can hear the people above you when they close cupboards or walk around
— the cabinets have a laminated type finish that is lifting in some places, didn’t bother me much, I was told they’re looking into getting new ones though
Rent for my 2BR 2BA was $ 950.

I moved here in October and these people are horrible. I have never lived at a place with this BAD of a customer service at the office. Brent is especially a worthless pile of CRAP, rude, snoody and has no commen decentcy. Instead of admitting his wrong he argued with me and I just walked out of the office with his rudeness, there are other two people that work here could also fix thier atitudes toward thier tenents. The place is pretty nice, the maintenence guys show up the very next day which is AWESOME, but I will definityly be moving when my lease is up because I don’t like dealing with rude people who should be in the business of customer service.

I have been living at Alara’s Hedges Creek apartments for about five months now. I recently moved to Tualatin from Southern California and chose Hedges Creek based solely on the info from their website since I was not able to visit in person before moving. Besides offering great floor plans for the price, I was really attracted to having a walking path from the community to a shopping center. This is just a two-​minute walk from my apartment’s door. The best feature at the shopping center is the Haggen grocery store where I do 90% of my grocery shopping. It’s too convenient to pass up.
Next to the shopping center is a WES commuter rail stop as well as a bus stop so the location gets high marks for easy access to public transportation. We are also walking distance to the city center and main shopping area in Tualatin. We love walking over to Birra Deli and Juan Colorado for some good, inexpensive meals.
There is also a very nice bike trail close to the community that follows the Tualatin River into Cook Park. That’s been really nice to walk & bike.
As far as the actual apartment… The interior is beautiful and I love our huge storage closet on the patio. We thought we were going to have to rent one of the storage lockers but the patio storage holds more than enough for us. Parking has also never been an issue. There are garages, carports, and reserved spaces you can rent for varying monthly fees. We have two cars and have always been fine with the open /​guest parking. We have always been able to park in one of the spots in front of our building.
We have never had any negative issues to bring up with the management so I can find nothing bad to say about this community.
