I love their cheap drinks, and $ 1 beer on LADIESNIGHT(Thursday’s) also love their BLT so delicious! This place is always a good time. And I’ve meet some fun people there.

Staff is pretty cool. If you want a waitress, ask for Ashley, she’s the best one. Unfortunately, the only complaint I have is that for the past few months they have been incorporating secular music into the bar for an hour plus. I come here to dance and listen to the country music. If I wanted to listen to the rap and hip hop, I’d go downtown. It puts a real damper on the night. Btw Joyce, the line dance teacher, is the best person alive. Treat her with respect because we love her. Overall OK bar.

I thought it was time to update my review from my previous post as I have officially forgiven and forgotten my horrible experience so many months ago, and I felt the need to reiterate my love for my favorite bar in town. Bushwhackers is by far the best if you’re lookin’ for a country bar to go and hang out and dance in. Thursday is the BEST night to go, because of course it’s ladies night, so free entry and $ 1.50 beers for gals, although that .50 gets me every time when it used to be a dollar! ;) I come here almost every Thursday and some Saturday evenings too. I’ve always said if I’m going out, and someone asked me what my choice would be, it would be to go to Bushwhackers every single time. Bushies, I love you, thank you for the great nights and many more to come.

Let me start this review by saying this is my favorite bar. However, the last time I visited it was my birthday, so I reserved the stage portion of the bar. It has tables that are up and away from the others, a place for us to set out things while we dance. Just like any other tables we get serviced by a waitress. Before my arrival our waitress Kelly denied my group of friend pitchers of water pointing across the bar saying«there is a water station over there.» Mind you there were about 17 or more of us in the group. When the bar was slow(you have to get there at six to make sure your tables are reserved) it took her 45 minutes to bring the first round of drinks. Once I got there I asked her to bring pitchers of water, she did but never came to refill them. From then on when she would come by she had an attitude and would roll her eyes. From 10 to 11 is power hour, $ 3 dollar shots F yeah! She did not return ONCE between 9:45 to 11:15. My friends were having to track her down throughout the bar. Even then she didn’t take any orders we had to ask another waitress to take our orders… but even that waitress never returned!!! So with that said I spent most of the night waiting in line at the bar instead of dancing. Shame on you Bushwhackers for putting a new girl, with a hell of an attitude with a party. I understand this bar gets busy on Thursday nights but that doesn’t excuse the way we were treated. On top of this I emailed 6 days ago and haven’t gotten a response. Sorry Bushwhackers but I won’t be spending my birthday at your bar again. You

I recently moved to Portland and was on the hunt for a good country bar, and rather than drive out to Duke’s, some friends and I ended up here. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried, but it was honestly an okay night. Get there early to learn the dances if you don’t already know ‘em, otherwise you’ll be stuck on the sidelines. Also, don’t overdress. The cool thing about this place is the fact it’s super casual. I was a little over dressed, but it’s good to know I can go back in a tank top, jeans, and boots next time. Overall, it’s a cool place with a laid back atmosphere and a $ 5 cover.

This place is great! I’ve never had so much fun at a nightclub — ever. It’s a little bit crowded and it can take awhile to get a drink, but that must be because the place is so popular, right? Everybody here was enjoying themselves. The music was great and the dancing was great fun(Western Swing, Two Step, Line Dance, etc). Highly recommended for good ol’ country fun! I know I’ll be back.

I have been there twice. The first time I noticed how rude the bartenders are, I figured it was a bad day. No — I go back last night and they were still rude. They act as if they hate their jobs and have better things to be doing. They’re annoyed and pissy attitude is a real downer. Trying to get a drink is nearly impossible though, even on a slow night like last night. It’s a shame because I really enjoy the bar. All in all fun place, poor bar-tending.

My friends told me about this place and said that it would be perfect for me. At first I was a bit skeptical but after going I was totally hooked. I love the entire atmosphere and the people. Everyone there is very friendly and is a great place to meet new people. They line dancing is also great, the teachers are awesome and they teach the best dances. I’ve brought some friends before who don’t like to dance but they absolutely love to get into the line dances here. I’m not a regular but every time I go I meet new people all the time and every time I go back I will see them again or I will meet all new people. Its a great place and I think everyone should experience it at least once. I like to go on Thursday nights because it’s Ladies Night and beer is $ 1 so you can’t go wrong with that. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

I go to Bushwackers every once in awhile for ladies night on Thursdays. The place is HUGE and usually packed with a diverse crowd on those nights. I always see a good amount of college students as well as an older(40+) crowd that usually keeps to themselves. The bartenders are quick considering the crowd, and my drinks have always been strong. Plus, on Thursdays they serve dollar beers all night. Can’t complain about that! The bathrooms are clean for a bar. The back porch is nice, though I can’t stand out there for too long because I don’t like the cigarette smoke. The crowd gets friendlier as the night goes on(imagine that!), though I will say that sometimes it feels as though the regulars look down on everyone else. I want to come here earlier sometime to learn the dances, because not knowing them definitely limits the fun!

Me and my fiancé were in town from Seattle for a Saturday night«Date night» away from the rest of the world, we came all the way from Seattle. We stayed at the Century Hotel in Tualatin and while at the restaurant we asked where we could find something fun to do. The immediate response was«Go to Bushwhackers!» we were told that they have line dancing lessons from 7:30pm to 8:30pm(if I remember right) and that it is a great venue. We went immediately and boy were the folks at the restaurant right. The place was packed and the music was great. The bartenders were all very friendly and accomodating and all the people at the bar seemed to be down to earth AWESOME people. What a great choice! We tried to learn how to line dance… Tried! It was our first time so we didnt do so hot, but we have a reason to go back now. We would absolutely recommend this place to anybody! What an amazing find!

This place is kind of wack. Okay I lied, it’s really wack. The people are rude(especially the older regulars that come here almost every day), it gets super packed where there’s no parking and restrictions to park anywhere around the country bar. Only cool thing about this place is that they do the star spangled banner at 9pm everyday and they have dance lessons. Oh & I wouldn’t recommend to anyone who has a little color in them. Just sayin’ Would I ever come back? Probably not.

*****************WARNINGTOPEOPLEOFETHNICBACKGROUND**************** Do not go to this establishment unless you want to be profiled and harassed! So did you hear the one about the three Asians, one Hispanic, and one white guy from Hawaii who went to a country bar? Well, probably not because it’s not a joke, it happened for real! So this past weekend a few friends and I decided to hit up Bushwhackers after watching the UFC at Blitz 99(btw a much better and classier place than Bushwhackers) only to be profiled from the second we walked in the front door! I kid you not, folks, this is a true story. Not only did a bunch of hillbilly hicks start trying to mean mug us, but so did the security at the front door! LOLOMG these dudes seriously need to get a llife. It’s 2013 and this is NOT your land. Yes, the Americas were not«discovered» by the white man, it already existed and was occupied. Hello? So from the start I had a bad feeling about this place. The security was not going to allow us in but one of us in the group had convinced them that we’re not trouble and we just wanted to have a good time. So we finally get in and what happens next? Well, it seems as if the security guards had a radar on us and they were basically following us around the place. They had it for us from the start and were looking for any and all reasons for us not to be in there. We couldn’t even breathe without one of them hassling us. We would’ve left at that point but two in our party had separated and we couldn’t find them. So while waiting for our other friends, we get to the bar to order our drinks and just chilled for a bit. Can we order a second round, please? Nope. LOL They cut our line! This was the funniest crap ever! I’m not even going to get anymore into this but this place needs a serious reality check. It’s a sad thing that there still is racism that exists, but what’s even more sad is that it’s not only down south, it’s this close to home. I wonder how these«security» guards would do back home in Hawaii. Not well, I’m sure of it. WARNINGTOPEOPLEOFETHNICBACKGROUND: Do not go to this establishment unless you want to be profiled. It’s sad that racism exists here! Bushwhackers, get a life!!!

We came, we tried to line dance and we congratulated ourselves for just a second… then they added music. Yet in the end it was a good night had by all. Every Thursday night is ladies and they teach a free line dance. I just have to say the gal that teaches these is so dang cute! She is awesome at what she does. Seriously, if she can get me line dancing she’s pure genius. Be warned this place does pack out. Get in early, grab a table and get ready to show your stuff. Because it is ladies night they have really cheap drinks, like $ 1 beers for ladies. The crowd here is a huge mix of people. We were surrounded by people that knew what they were doing and we were also surrounded by people that were more clueless than us and we all laughed and had a great time. You won’t just find big trucks parked in the parking lot. We also saw a Rolls Royce and everything in between. I have not had the food because I assume it’s just bar food, which is not my thing. Besides I came to dance and it takes so long to learn that you don’t have time to eat anyways. Even though line dancing is not my thing, it was fun to get out and do something completely different with all my friends.

I love coming here on Thursday nights. It’s ladies night, so cheap drinks for the ladies, and during power hour, 10 – 11 they have $ 3 shots of Jose Jack Jäger or Pendelton. Can’t argue with that. I would also say it is the best ladies night around for the bros. The ratio is at least 3 – 1 which you rarely see unless you want to go to some lame club downtown. I have not tried the food, but I have heard good things.

This place is so much fun for something out of the ordinary. My friend and I are playing on a saturday night indoor soccer team nearby in Tualatin and it had been a while since i’d been here so we decided to check it out. We’ve now been back 2 weekends in a row! A few years ago, this place had an older crowd, a lot less line/group dancing and was all about the couples. Now it feels like a much more even mix of people and they play a lot more fun songs to dance to, not just ones you have to already know the steps for. What’s also nice are the dance lessons from 7:30 — 8:30pm. It’s $ 7 for admission for the lessons, $ 5 if you come after that. the $ 7 covers your all-night admission as well, which is really nice. The drinks are a lot cheaper than downtown Portland clubs, and the vibe is just so much more relaxed. People come up and ask you to dance, and no one minds when you don’t know the moves. The fries are also perfect at midnight when you’re sweaty and starving from dancing all night and just need something to soak up some alcohol.

I’ve been to Bushwackers a few times over the years. I remember going a couple of years ago, and the place was packed to overflowing! I went here recently on a Friday night wtih co-workers, and it wasn’t nearly as packed. A friend and I got there in time for the 7:30pm two-step dance lesson. This was a lot of fun! The dance floor was big enough to accomodate all the couples taking lessons. I like the fact that you rotate dance partners. The instructor was good and peppered his instruction with humor. As the night wore on, the place remained half-full. By 10:30pm, the place started to empty out. I was a little disappointed by this. I had a couple of White Russians, and the drinks were perfect in strength… I had a Spider shot, my first one ever, and it went down smooth. I ordered a friend the Pendleton and coke, and he said it was pretty strong. I did not order food here, but a friend ordered chicken strips and onion rings. After looking at her plate, it did not appeal to me in the least. If you are looking for a country bar to do the country two-step or country line dance, I recommend this place. Or if you’re looking to belly up to a bar where you can order a stiff drink, I recommend this place!

I’ve only been here for lunch do to the close work establishment proximity, so I don’t know anything about any fancy dancing in in sh*t kicking boots. What I do know about is the burgers, fries and service. Of course I have never made if past the gut buster… Who could say no to beef, cheese, Canadian bacon and egg?! Its a delicious bar burger. The one thing that keeps this place from being a 4 stars for me is the service. Sure, their staff is very friendly, but they a missing a little pep-in-their-step. They walk around nonchalantly as they take order, serve food and process payments. If they could pick the pace up a notch during the lunch time hours I would be one happy camper!

Bushwackers is where my Paw and my Step-Maw met, twas the year 1999. They tied the knot in Reno, Nev soon after and have been going strong ever since. This is a good place for a beer and burger during happy hour which is from 3:30 to 7pm A burger is $ 4 and a cheeseburger is $ 4.50, with fries or onion rings. $ 5 cover after 7pm. The interior is sort of like a log cabin inside with exposed logs on the walls and benches and things. The service is good. I think there are free dance lessons for West Coast Swing and line dancing before the cover goes into effect. It can be pretty smoky inside, but because of the high ceiling it doesn’t seem as bad, but there isn’t a non-smoking section, I don’t think.
