My husband and I went to Claim Jumpers tonight. Last time I will be going there. I ordered the Salmon Oscar, the salmon was dry and the asparagus was over ripe. I explained I can not eat spicy food and asked if the dish was spicy. The waitress said that red pepper flakes were sprinkled on the dish. She said she would request to not have them put on the dish. When the meal was served, red pepper flakes were sprinkled on it. So my meal was removed and about five minutes later the meal came back and this time it looked like it was thrown on the plate. The last time I was there a similar incident happened. That time I ordered a pasta dish also explained I could not eat spicy dishes and was told this was not a spicy dish. Guess what, it was very spicy. Found out the cook sprinkled red pepper flakes on that dish also. Whoever is the manager there needs to take the red pepper flakes from the cook. He ruins every dish. When I eat my meals I like to taste the flavor of the foods the dish was made up with.

I’ve always wanted to try this place, so I finally did. I ordered a pasta dish. It was not what I expected from the picture I saw. It was very dry, and not seasoned, not much flavor at all. Of course I complained, and they took it off my tab, my witnesses was very nice and had her manager come and talk to me about it. She was concerned and offered a different entrée I said I’m ok. I think I will try this place again just because they really showed me they cared about their costumes.

I am a Landry’s Club member and have been for years. I used to really enjoy Claim Jumper(the one in Clackamas), but every time I’ve been to this location it’s been really disappointing. The salads have been consistently wilted the last two times, and the wait staff do not look like they enjoy working there(general lack of smiles and good atmosphere).

Went in for the brunch buffet today, and we were impressed with the variety and the quality of the food. They had everything from scrambled eggs, to fajitas and roast beef. Their breakfast enchiladas were absolutely grubbin! We totally stuffed ourselves, and polished it all off with several dessert options. Service was prompt, friendly, and we a smile. We will definitely be returning for round 2!

This used to be excellent when independent and still run by the folks who created the place. Now it’s just another adequate corporate kitchen which means good enough.

The food was excellent, service was absolutely horrible. While our server Denuite, was sweet, she was probably the most out-of-touch server at a high-quality restaurant that I’ve experienced in my entire life. Maybe she was fresh out of training, maybe she was having problems with her home life, whatever it was she sucked. She made our dining experience suck. Almost everything you could imagine that could go wrong went wrong. She definitely needs to find a new career it was that bad. But the food here does rock so I’m going to eat here again.

OUTOFTOWNERSBEWARE! Easily one of the most offensive restaurant experiences(didn’t stay long enough for it to be a dining experience) I have ever had. It started off normally and we were offered seating at the bar or on the patio. Due to the beautiful weather we chose the patio, which is where the typical experience became unpleasantly memorable. Our server came up, introduced himself, and asked us for our beverage order. My business associate and I each ordered a beer. Our server then asked my associate for his ID. My associate produced his ID and our server had a hard time finding his birthday on it, given we both have Florida driver’s licenses. After stumbling around the ID and being directed to the date of birth, he then proclaimed«I am not accepting this license, I think it is fake.» Now I will never object to someone doing their job, but there is a tactful way of presenting things, and there is an offensive way. Had he explained his unfamiliarity with Florida licenses and his concerns about the OLCC in a tactful and non insulting manor, I wouldn’t be writing this. Unfortunately our server who apparently didn’t understand the importance of a pleasant attitude when you work partially for tips, chose to blatantly accuse my associate of being not only a liar, but of committing the crime of using a fake ID. My associate, who is 28, responded very politely and tried to explain that the ID was in fact valid and pointed out not only the embedded holographic water marks with the Florida seal, but also the anti counterfeiting image in the background. I pulled out my license for comparison and explained we had just eaten there and had alcoholic drinks on the 8th with no problems. He then left with the ID for around 10 minutes and when he returned said they weren’t able to verify it and would not serve us. I asked for a manager who then came out shortly thereafter. When I asked the manager for his name, he stated«I’m the manager.» I chose to ignore that, and again explained the situation and the unnecessary accusations, and the manger seemed rather unconcerned and acted as if we were bothering him. He was rather unhelpful and didn’t seem to care that I was not only a Landry’s Club member, but had eaten there countless times without issue. I asked for his business card and name again, and he left only to return with a generic business card with no name on it. We then chose to leave, rather than continue a pointless discussion with someone who seemed rather unconcerned with customer service. Thankfully the hostess was nice enough to let us know the manager’s name was Jim. As someone who travels back and forth between Florida and Oregon monthly, i tend to eat out at least 20 times per month. As a Landry’s Select Club member, I try to eat at Landry’s restaurants as often as I am able. The perks of the membership and the ability to earn credits is a huge plus to me. I also spend a lot of my off time out at Disney with my children and eat out at Landry’s Seafood, Rainforest Café, T-Rex, and Yak and Yeti frequently. I also have had each one of my children’s birthday dinners at one of those restaurants. I have never had anything other than exceptionally amazing service at those establishments. In addition, when I am out in Oregon, I try and take my managers out to this Claim Jumper as often as I can. Again, typically great service… until now. As someplace in the«service» industry, you would think they would understand a little bit about customer service. As a dining establishment located off of a very busy interstate, you would think they would learn to deal with varying forms of identification. And while I wouldn’t expect them to recognize every possible form, you would think they would learn how to address these concerns tactfully. I hope that if you are from out of town, you read this and think twice about dining at this restaurant and instead choose McCormick and Schmick’s around the corner if you want to use your Select Club benefits.

We have been here for Sunday Brunch Buffet, Dinner, and Happy Hour. Sunday Brunch Buffet is nice especially for under $ 20. Lots of mini size portions for the breakfast, which I love, that way I can fit a variety of food in my tummy Buffet has lots of variety(breakfast, seafood, roast beef). Dinner menu has so many options. Happy hour is ok, mostly fried food and not too large of a HH menu. I mainly like coming here for a nice cozy dinner.

Six years later, tried again because family wanted to go here. Sadly I cannot offer any more stars. Food is really MEDIOCRE for the prices. I ordered«Blackened chicken» Bow tie pasta – $ 16 – . Please see my photo. It was ok, but this is NOT blackened chicken. It was very thinly sliced chicken with a Cajun seasoning on it, and there wasn’t much of it in the dish. Waitress was very sweet and kindly brought more chicken, still not blackened but, whatever. This dish wasn’t even as good as something I could make myself. Overall no one else had complaints but nothing special at all and prices are fairly high.

So I decided to stop by this place with family and friends for dinner. I was already familiar with this chain so I knew what to expect. Great place for large groups or a relaxed date night. Service was good and the ambience was casual. The menu is rather large so there are plenty of options. Nothing bad to say about the food, but there’s nothing in particular that stands out. However they give pretty decent portions so that’s always a plus when you’re hungry. Their large portions also extend to their desserts. That being said I recommend you leave a pocket of space when eating your entrée in order to have some room for their rather large desserts. Ultimately, there’s nothing too special about this establishment, but I will admit it is a nice place to grab a bite to eat without any complaints.

Save yourself a bad experience go someplace else. The fork which cut my wife’s lip. Told restaurant about… Still paid full price for meal and tip. You’d think we would have gotten a free dessert but no we paid for that too and it was disgusting chocolate cake.

Go here if you are starving or are going to miss a meal or two. Portions and calories out of control. I prefer quality fresh ingredients however if you want a LOT of HEAVY food this is your place! The food was definitely comfort however the menu lacks creativity IMO. If you eat here for lunch be prepared to want a nap.

After waiting over thirty minutes and watching people who arrived after us but seated before us, I learned they failed to add our name to the list… When confronted, they laughed it off but immediately seated us… Guess they found room for us???

This review is only a five star because of one employee. Josh my waiter was incredible and this review is solely for him. I will describe my entire experience for the other consumers looking for a reference through Unilocal, but if management is reading this, I would love to see that he gets a leadership position in the future. Tons of potential in this young man, and he has a knack for customer service. He could teach your team a thing or two. I walked into the doors with my girlfriend, and we were not immediately greeted. As we walked up to the front counter, we suddenly got attention and were seated right away. I have been here many times, and I was expecting the same experience as always which is rather non-memorable at times. I was having a very long day, and I was quite hungry. I wanted to have a quick meal and just get out of there without being annoyed by an overly joyous and invasive waiter. Most of the time, I get either no energy at all from the waiters/waitresses or they’re way too invasive. To my surprise, I was introduced to Josh, the waiter I talked about above. He asked me how I was, and I told him that I was very hungry and had a long day. Then, I was discussing an appetizer with my girlfriend, and I was quite surprised that he stayed waiting there for us to figure out what we wanted. I gave him a look, and he replied by telling me not to rush because of him and that he just wants to be able to get me my meal as fast as possible because of my urge to eat. Then, when I came to a conclusion on what I wanted for my appetizer, he took my order immediately and asked for the kitchen to rush it out for us. He did this same thing with our entrée. Needless to say, we got our food in a very quick manner which accommodated perfectly to my needs. I am very big on customer service when I go to a restaurant or any other establishment where I am receiving a product or service, and I am impressed by the way he handled my girlfriend and me. He even took the time to recommend me a soup instead of just listing their sides. I ordered the fish and chips, and using this information, he used his greater judgement to just recommend the clam chowder without feeding me senseless information. My girlfriend also switched from the salad to the pot pie and he confidently stated that he can still get her a salad to accommodate. Instead of just listing pointless sides that we would’ve ignored, he took the time to listen and reply with confident and fitting suggestions. The other incredible thing was that he was able to adapt so well to every table under his care. When he worked with us, he was very charismatic and lively which I thought I would’ve found annoying, but he was able to make these features not annoying and bring some light back into my hungry night. With the tables around us, he was able to tone down, while keeping on his huge smile, and adapt to help them depending on how they were reacting to his questions. It’s true that the price is rather high at this place for how average some of their meals are, and I agree with some of the statements that they should really put out a stronger product for their price. I also agree with one of the strongest ways good marketers make a product better than others. This technique is building value in the product. Josh was incredible at building value in my meal. I have never enjoyed my meal at the Claim Jumper as much as I did tonight. The experience was so seamless and how every experience at a restaurant should feel. I will only be going in if he is there. The fish and chips were decent the last time I came here, but this time, I enjoyed every last bite. Five stars Josh and Good Job. I hope your floor manager takes the initiative to read these reviews and commends you on your performance tonight. I was astounded at how you kept ever one of our conversations quick, positive and uplifting(no negative or devaluing words). If you are second guessing this place, ask for Josh and he will be able to take care of you no matter who you are. Side Note — Never had to ask for water once. Never even saw my water fall below half before he brought me a new one and a pitcher for my table itself. If I needed any sauces, I didn’t even have to ask because he was on top of it, and when I needed my food to go, he took the initiative to take it in the back and ask the chefs to do it.

Awful service. My friend and I wanted a late dinner and decided to go there for happy hour. We walk in, and the staff were talking to each other and didn’t notice us standing there. We asking for the happy hour, and were told to sit in the bar. No menus, so I got up and grabbed one from the front counter. My friend and I waited for THIRTY minutes with no service. The bartender walked by, the busser walked by, and another server walked by. Finally, we went up to the counter and just asked to be seated in the regular dining room after waiting too long in the bar. We finally got to order and the food was mediocre. The french fries tasted like they had been sitting awhile and my pizza was cold. We just wanted to leave at that point. Did not finish our dinner, paid and left. Will probably not be back.

Came out here on a Sunday afternoon for a family birthday celebration. If you’re accustomed to chain restaurants, you may like this place more, but I live in Portland and am spoiled by our vast array of non-chain options. It look 55 minutes to get our entrees from the time we sat down. Far too long. I ordered the bbq chicken salad. If you say chicken breast on a salad, that’s what I’m expecting. Instead I got a few oz of thinly sliced chicken breast for $ 14. My dad got a chicken pot pie that he described as «average chain food». Mom and aunt got the tenderloin tips which were probably the best item at the table. In all, if you like Olive Garden/Red Robin etc. this place is fine. There’s just so many other places where $ 14 would get me something I really enjoyed in a better ambiance.

Sliders(well cooked): the burger was pretty good, but the buns they used wasn’t good. The fries that it came with were good, but tthey had used the same oil: had stale oil smell. Atlantic Salmon(blackened): from lunch menu: wasn’t as blackened as I expected… it was okay, but my wife liked it. Very good service.

My husband and I came here based on some friends recommendations. They absolutely loved this place. We on the other hand, not so much Let me start out by saying the staff was super friendly but… it took like an hour to get our order to us and they kept taking our stuff(drinks, appetizers, meal) to the table next us then kept looking around to see what table actually ordered it. Drinks consisted mostly of ice and food was extremely salty. Personally we think it’s overpriced for what you get. Hopefully you’ll have better luck.

Try as I might I cannot seem to fall in love with Claim Jumper and it is not for lack of trying. On certain occasions Claim Jumper has the perfect ambiance. The booths are comfortable and private. The lighting is soft and the décor is tasteful. You fit in whether dressed casual or formal. I only wish everything was as charming as the restaurant itself. The menu is ridiculous. It is far too large and conflicts itself. With so many different types of dishes how can they possibly maintain superior quality ingredients? The general taste of the food shows that they cannot. The cooking techniques vary on every different occasion so that there is no solid consistency. When they are busy this shows. I have had many of the dishes at Claim Jumpers but have never been able to say«wow, this is amazing». Every bite is underwhelming. This time we tried the BBQ Bacon Shrimp appetizer, and the Mozzarella Sticks. We were served bread while we waited with our cocktails which we went specifically for this time. Good cocktails for sure. What ever did the poor bread do to be served with a large steak knife shoved into it? A strange sour sprinkling of cheese topped it. Why? The mozzarella sticks were just warmed through. No gooey melted goodness this time. The shrimp were so tough, leather tough. I could not taste anything but BBQ sauce. It was served over rice. BBQ sauce flavored rice. Why? I usually get the fried zucchini which I do like. I should just stick with that from now on. The portions are larger than average. The service varies from server to server, but I have never been the recipient of rude service. I will continue to go to Claim Jumpers but generally only for the cocktails and some small bites.

Had a pretty satisfactory experience here. Dad’s Birthday. They were busy on a raining Thursday night. I appreciate that they had Stone IPA on draft. The menu was large, lots of choices — my family members all chose something different. Bryan was our server and he was on top of things. Their supplemental specials menu was confusing. They presented this glossy page of items with no prices, but then upon further explanation — they stated it was items you could add to your entrée. Confusing and dumb. I ordered the Sirloin Tip dish. It was great. The salad it came with had too much dressing applied to it. The Filet Mignon my dad ordered was not to expectation. The host even came over and admitted it was like a hockey puck and should have been taller, juicier. They brought a second one. It took a bit, but I thought it was a good gesture. Also, they presented my dad with a slice of cake and ice cream. A good experience and I would return.
