Found them online and saw a chaise sectional that my boyfriend and I had been interested in for a while. Online the advertised price was $ 699, which we thought was an awesome deal!
Went in and were immediately greeted by an older man. He introduced himself (I think he said his name was Gary or Jerry). He gave us a brief description about their store, what they carry, current sales, and allowed us to check the place out for ourselves.
We quickly found the chaise sectional we had been eyeing and fell in love! Right away we put the order in and continued to look around.
They have a great selection on small couches, ottomans, sectionals, dining tables, futons/​futon covers, beds, dressers, carpets and even bed frames. They also had a catalog with more furniture not in the store.
What I though was really awesome was they gave us the option to have a pull out bed installed into our sectional for an extra $ 200. Although it sounded like a great idea and would benefit us for when we have guests, it was a little out of our price range so we opted out.
Overall, the selection is great, the customer service is great, and the prices are even better! They do not follow you around and pressure you to make a purchase which I appreciated because it was my first time shopping for furniture.
I would have given them 5 stars but when my boyfriend called to have the couch delivered instead of us picking it up someone told him they have to «locate our order» since it wasn’t yet delivered to the store despite someone calling the previous Friday informing us it had arrived and was ready to pick up. We were told we’d get a call right back but we never did. Other than that little hiccup we definitely will be going back if we are in need of new furniture!

Cheap furniture, good quality, but their customer service approach needs an upgrade!
I wanted to support a local business and was hoping to get a piece of furniture at a reasonable price at the same time. My initial experience of choosing and ordering the item was pretty good. Customer service during the purchasing process was helpful and courteous and the price was fair and reasonable.
This changed after the sale was complete. The furniture wasn’t ready for pick up until several weeks past their initial estimate (no apology or phone call). Then, when I got it home, I realized it was not the ordered size from the invoice and wouldn’t fit in the spot I had measured. They took it back and re-​ordered it. Months went by. I would call to check on it and every time the manager person seemed as though he had completely forgotten the transaction altogether. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but really — how many re-​order instances like this do you have to be juggling to not have any recollection? He always acted surprised/​annoyed if I asked him to look up my order by last name instead of invoice number. Such an odd customer service approach for a small local business.
The good news is that I finally got my furniture (it had been at a warehouse across town for the last month or so. UGH). It looks great and fits perfectly. I was hoping that they would apologize for it being four months since I ordered it and maybe offer to deliver it for me or a coupon for a future purchase. Alas, they seemed to have forgotten me again and just brought out the box with no mention of my ordeal.

Five years ago we purchased a futon and mattress from Expressions and at that time we were very happy with the selection, price and delivery of the futon frame and mattress we eventually purchased.
The reason for this review is to give Expressions our highest rating for followup service on our unit 5 years after purchase. In a nutshell what has happened is after years of faultless use we needed some assistance with opening and use of our futon.
We made one in-​person stop at Expressions and Steve could not have been more helpful, he arranged for an in-​home service call by Dallas who spent the extra time and patience to explain why our problem developed and how to prevent it from reoccurring.
If you want good products at reasonable prices AND great no questions asked followup service, a very rare quality in today’s profit at any cost retail environment, make sure Expressions Futons is on the top of your list of retail shopping choices.

The prices are AMAZING! The quality is great, they don’t showcase everything they have so I had to flip through some catalogs to find the perfect items for my house. They also custom build dressers, with custom stain and finishes. I highly recommend, I know the owner owns the land and building so it’s awesome that he’s able to give such a generous discount.

despite a previous not-​so-​amazing experience, I went back here bc their prices were so good. I ordered a futon cover and called to check on it once the expected delivery date had come and gone. Turns out they never placed the order! oops. They took care of it right away and waived the shipping fee… bc it’s not something urgent, and I don’t mind waiting, it’s only a minor inconvenience… I liked the price and in-​person manner of the customer service experience better than the place in NE that I tried first.

Horrible, horrible service! Just wanted to take a quick look and owner said he was leaving in one minute which was 5 minutes before place was supposed to close! Would never buy anything from such a rude man!

Had a great experience! I walked in and was able to choose the model I wanted and it looked even better than the pictures! He was supposed to charge 318 but only charged me $ 299! I would have paid almost $ 400 for the exact model from walmart and would have had to wait 2 weeks. I had shopped for 3 weeks, and had some pretty lack luster service elsewhere, and being in sales myself, i was surprised! I believe I met with the owner and the whole process took less than 10 minutes (I knew what I wanted). My couch looked even better than the display or the picture online. They will certainly have my business from here on out!

Buyers beware… Expressions Furniture is a shady company!
I stopped in the store with the intention of buying a sofa and love seat. There were two particular models that I was torn between. The salesman (Steve) told me that he would give me the sofa/​love seat combo with free delivery if I helped unload and move. I told him I couldn’t decide between the two sets so he gave me his card and said to think about it. I did, went back in the next week with cash ready to make my purchase. Of course I had a different salesman this time and when I mentioned I was supposed to get free delivery he refused. Steve was standing behind us so I explained while pointing towards him that he promised me free delivery. In a snarky, half retarded tone of voice he replied, «well that was just a onetime thing, it’s not like I wrote it down paper or anything.» Also note that he couldn’t even look me in the eye while he said it… he just kept looking at his catalogue. I rose a bit of a fuss and the salesman tried to bargain with me saying they would do a curbside drop for $ 29. I told him that was unacceptable because I was promised free delivery. They wouldn’t budge so I left with the cash still in my pocket. Long story short, this company is not one of their word and are liars. If they act this way before even making a deal, imagine how shady they would be once they had your money! If a warranty issue came up with the furniture, do you think they would help? No way.
Stay away from them!

I have been searching for a nice set of wooden bunk beds for some time. While I had driven past the store many times, I hadn’t stopped in. I looked up the web site and found what I thought was a good deal. After calling to see if they had it, I went out to see.
I was greeted very friendly, Steve and the guy who likes coffee (not a bad thing) were putting chairs together, but they both stopped and showed me what I came to look at.
I was pleasantly surprised at how low the prices were and how amazing the quality was. Even more exciting was when I paid for my items and I got a TON of stuff for not a whole lot of money.
Delivery is dirt cheap, and for a couple extra bucks, they’ll assemble your furniture for you, which was a major time saver for me. The delivery guys were really nice and they took all the trash away and straightened up the room before they left.
I would have no problem shopping and recommending this store any time!

What started out simply became horrible, and was finally resolved in a fantastic way!
We purchased a Queen size mattress and what we got was NOT what they had in the store. We went round and round with the owner and even the manufacturer. My husband decided to take our mattress to the store, where he and Larry were able to compare products and that his showroom model was not what we got.
Larry, the owner, apologized and even took the bad mattress to the manufacturer himself to resolve the situation.
The end result is that we now have a fantastic mattress in our home that is just like the showroom model.
Larry and Dallas have really pulled through for us, and I thank them both.!!

They sure are attentive when they want your business, but after they have it, customer service and kindness goes out the door.
We were impressed with the quality of the furniture, we purchased a futon, glider rocker, and a sectional couch. As other reviews stated, look over the furniture before taking it off lot because once off the lot, they will not work with you to get it back to the manufacturer nor assume responsibility for the furniture.
So when I picked up the furniture I opened it and found a tear. I was told that it was an easy fix they should have it back within a week or two. Great, so I took the other parts of the couch home. After two weeks we called, I was told that they would have to check on it and call me back, no call back. So I call again and spoke to the young man who opened the couch with me and witnessed the tear. He claims he never said a week to two weeks, stated that I could have taken the couch home and the repair guy could just come to my house. He completely changed his story after I picked up the couch the first time to when I spoke to him again, as a matter of fact stated that I was wrong, and there is no way he would have ever said anything like that. He told me to talk to Jerry, and he would be in on Saturday. After going back and fourth, and interrupting me multiple times, I said why would I take what is suppose to be perfect, home to be fixed. I was under the impression I was getting a whole new piece, not one that is repaired although a simple fix.
I am not upset at the process, had it been explained up front and had it been explained after talking to them a few times I would be ok, I am upset at how rudely I was spoken to, very unprofessional. And now it’s going on 5.5 weeks since ordering our couch, with 2.5 weeks of that waiting for the torn piece to be completed.
Here are my tips for everyone not only buying from here, but anywhere, this just happens to be where I had a minor bad experience, but enough of a bad experience that I will not return because of the rude way in which I was talked to and discarded.
1. Inspect all furniture
2. IF something is torn, broke, etc. find out exactly how they plan on taking care of it, ie, a whole new piece, a repair kit, a local repair place etc, and PUT IT IN WRITING.
3. Find out how long the repair/​replacement will take, PUT IT IN WRITING.
4. If they do not meet that date find out UP FRONT, how they plan on compensating you for the delay, PUT IT IN WRITING.
Do NOT leave there after ordering without everything in writing.
Other than this we love the furniture.

When we first came in we were greeted warmly, and helped almost immediately. Our buying experience was great until the product was delivered.
When we received the bed frame, we noticed that it was MUCH LOWER QUALITY than they told us when we bought it. After about 2.5 hours of assembling it, we noticed that the product was assembled incorrectly by the manufacturer. When we called the seller to help us fix the issue, they said «all sales are final.» They wouldn’t even give us the name/​number of the manufacturer. We are now out $ 700 and have a defective bed frame to show for it.
It was one if the worst buying experiences I’ve been a part of, and would encourage everyone to STAY AWAY of doing business here!

I’m honestly shocked by all the good reviews this company has.
I purchased a couch 2÷10÷13, 4 weeks later and I haven’t heard one word from them. When I bought the couch I was told it would be three weeks but wasn’t given a firm date. Two weeks after the sale I call and ask if they have an ETA for me. I’m told that they’ll call the manufacturer and then call me back. Hours go by and I don’t get a call back so I call them. The response I get «Oh I don’t need to talk to them, it usually takes 3 to 4 weeks for us to get these pieces in.». So now I’m told 3 – 4 weeks but that is with them not even checking with the manufacturer. At 3 ½ weeks I call and I’m told that they’ll call the manufacturer and then they’ll call me back. Before our conversation ends the man I was speaking with asks another associate if he knows when they’re going to be picking up from this manufacturer. The other man says «We have a bunch of pieces we’re supposed to be picking up there soon.». The first guy says to me «It’ll probably be about another week or so.» I asked him if he would please call to get a solid date for me and call me back. Two days later and BIG SHOCK, I never heard anything back from them.
To pay $ 1700.00 for a couch and to be treated like this is NOT good business. This company is ran very poorly. I’d go elsewhere if you’re looking for professionalism.

I was incredibly impressed with the amount of time the salespeople assisted me in determining which futon and frame would be best. I was in the store twice for a total of four hours before deciding. I am very happy with the services provided, they are a friendly family owned business, and I love my comfortable futon and sturdy frame made out of high quality wood. Their prices are better than Cotton Cloud Futons and the mattresses to choose from are more comfortable.

Fantastic friendly service. The owner, and wife/​partner? were extremely helpful and funny. Casey, the floor sales guy was super awesome as well.
Don’t let the quirky exterior of this furniture store turn you off, if you need some furnishings for your first apartment/​house in the Tigard-​Tualatin area, or you just need some good solid furniture and you aren’t into paying for Ethan Allen, go here, we’re talking budget friendly. Once you go, you’ll be back. I know it
We came back to buy some bunk beds my brother-​in-​law had seen a week before. The sales person he spoke with had mentioned giving him an even better deal if he came back to buy them. Although that sales guy was not available, Casey jumped right in and called him to see what kind of deal he was talking about, five minutes later, another $ 20 off the already outstanding sale price. We were taking he floor model, which Casey said they don’t normally do, but because of Chinese New Year and the delay that it causes, they would do it. As the wife/​partner wrote up the sales slip, the owner and Casey hustled to dismantle the bed and fit it into our SUV. All was done in about ten minutes. These guys are the Les Scwab of the furniture world! Awesomeness prevails.
As I was looking through their building, the wife/​partner was telling me some great stories about when they bought the building and it’s history. Funny woman, wish I would have gotten her name so I could give cred.

Fantastic, friendly, fast, and inexpensive.
My family and I purchased a sectional for our living room here. We were amazed and a bit skeptical about the price, afraid about the quality of the couch. We decided to purchase it anyway as the staff was very helpful and friendly. They delivered and assembled the same day within hours, and we have been very pleased with the quality. We love this store AND we love our couch!

We’ve used Expressions Futons & Furniture for all our furniture needs. I’d consider myself a pretty savvy shopper, and with each piece of furniture we’ve purchased, we’ve shopped around to see if there is a ‘better deal’, and we have yet to come even close to what Expressions offers. We’ve populated our master bedroom, living room, dining room, family room, breakfast nook, office and more! After buying this much furniture from them, we know there isn’t a better place to buy furniture. They’ve saved us thousands… literally.
Their showroom is nice… not very big, but has examples of all relevant furniture, and if they don’t have what you are looking for on the showroom floor, they have catalogs from all the major suppliers with an example of the craftsmanship from each company in a piece or two in their showroom.
We ended up ordering all the furniture we’ve bought, and have been exceptionally pleased with every piece. The coolest thing is they get new catalogs periodically, and our latest purchase was a sitting chair from a new supplier that was just starting to produce their new line, so we were able to get a cool new piece of furniture that hadn’t even hit any other vendors or showrooms yet. My wife was diggin’ that.
The only thing I would note is that Expressions F&F isn’t big on taking returns… I mean, if there is something defective or missing on a purchased piece, they are super supportive and helpful to get the situation corrected, but if a buyer mis-​measures, or just doesn’t like the piece when it comes in, they aren’t big on taking it back. That’s totally understandable to me, for they are a small, family-​owned/​run business, they have a limited showroom, and any piece they have on the floor is overhead for them. I wouldn’t take stuff back either if I ran a furniture store, especially if someone didn’t take the time to measure correctly or just changed their preference. So, as I buyer, I HIGHLY recommend knowing what you want, where it’s going to go, how much space you have, and E, F&F staff will work diligently with you to ensure you get a great piece that fits the spot for an unbeatable price!
I always recommend this place to friends and family… and we’ll be back ourselves!

We’d just had a very disappointing experience at another store, and when we pulled up to what looked like a tiny place, we weren’t expecting much. But, wow — fantastic service and excellent selection. These folks were oh-​so-​happy to help us find the futon we needed (no, really, HAPPY), and the prices were reasonable. If you can’t find what you are looking for in stock, they’ve got lots of catalogs. We’ll definitely return in the future.
