Roamer’s Rest RV Park

A huge shoutout to the staff at Roamer’s Rest. The property flooded and I received phone calls and emails letting me know what happened, that regrettably my reservation was cancelled, and suggesting alternate properties with contact info. The place is well thought out and highly maintained. Quiet spot as well. Would definitely stay there again. Close to Portland.

This place is a great stay around Portland. I wish it was a little closer in to the city and I don’t get reception for my directv setup but there is cable and wifi and it is pretty quiet. We got a spot on the upper loop and hardly ever see another person. Staff is nice. Only nice trailers allowed here. It is obvious because everything is well maintained. Best part, this place is Clean! It is fall and the trees drop pine needles and leaves like crazy and saw a staff member cleaning every bit of it and maintaining the landscaping for about 5 hours today just on the small part of the loop we are on. Pretty impressive.

CLEAN… not deserving of a 3 star rating. I too was wary bcuz of the 3 star rating reviews i read but found staff friendly and the park is VERY clean. The only downside is the spaces are close to each other but heck… we’re hardly there but to sleep anyway. Place was booked solid but didnt hear neighbors or city noise. Probly cuz its tucked down in a hole. I would absolutely stay here again.

This is a Nice RV park with nearby (20 mins) access to Portland. The sites are older, you get occasional wifts of sewer, but the restrooms are newer and clean. There is a river on site, but NO access at all. Also, this is not a quiet spot, there are «city» noises and what I believe are residents on site that come and go early in the morning and late in the evening.

I am so glad I found this place. Everyone and especially the owner Denise is very kind. I just moved to Portland and needed a place while I look for a home to purchase. The bathrooms are great.

I’m hesitant to even write a review, as this is Tualatin’s, and overall Portland’s best kept secret!
There are few places that can hold up to the class and comforts offered by Roamers Rest.
There are some pre-​emptive questions of course to stay here, and some people might be put off by these requests of Roamers Rest:
1) age of your unit
2) pets, breeds & weight
Now this is why those questions are important… the Owner and Staff take great pride in Roamers Rest, and they should, this place is wonderful. I stayed recently at a place in Canby, yes it was cheaper, BUT I never knew there was a real Cousin Eddie from Christmas Vacation. «Sh**ers full!»
Also, I do have two big dogs myself, but honestly, if you just talk with the staff and say «hey this is what I have, they are nice and sweet, give me a chance and if there are problems with the animals, I completely understand and will address it.» So of course they took my statement into consideration and things are a-​ok.
Here are the best features of Roamers Rest:
1) Grounds are clean
2) The facilities are really nice, and are ADA accessible. They get cleaned on a regular basis so you don’t have to fear of walking into a filthy restroom or laundry facility.
3) There are some really nice walking paths around here
4) The Owner is a hoot and great to have conversations with
5) It’s quiet here! Almost all RV parks are off a major road, with Roamers Rest not being an exception to that rule. However, the way the park sits adjacent and below the road, the noise just isn’t that loud at all. I only hear it when outside, unlike at Canby, it would rattle my windows. Then again that could have been Cousin Eddie trying to break in!
6) In the office, you can check out books and movies, along with buying any needed supplies that you have run out of
7) It’s still within close proximity of everything, and I have the best cell reception here than other places (but I’ve always had great service with Verizon).
8) Its only a $ 1.25 to wash a load, and $ 1.25 to dry a load
Here’s a few things to consider though:
1) Wifi is included in your rate, however, you aren’t the only person here, so it will be slow during peak periods but is fast during the middle of the day. This is posted in the office and the common grounds also, so shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.
2) If you have a second car, there is a fee to park it here of $ 30. Kinda stinks, but this is someone’s business and the grounds are nice, so have to respect that. Just don’t park under the tree with the yellow blooms on it, that stuff will NOT come off your car.
3) Free cable– its basic, but it’s always worked for me. I get great reception as it is with my antenna here, so this is just icing on the cake.
Overall this is a great place to stay!

My husband and I stay at Roamers often during our annual travels through the NW. We have been coming here for years and love it. The owner Denise is a lovely hard working woman who cares a lot about her guests. The staff is super accommodating as well. The bathrooms/​laundry are very clean. The property is peaceful and beautiful. Great location too.

We just needed an overnight place to stay while in transit through the Portland area. The staff was very friendly and helpful in getting us squared away even though out truck would not be able to fit in the same site as our trailer. The camp was clean and the bathrooms were FANTASTIC. I am giving 4 stars due only to the proximity of the spaces, causing a pretty strong odor of sewage to waft in with the breeze.

Very nicely kept and comfortable RV park nestled next to the river. Helpful staff, good location and clean and well maintained grounds. I had a great stay and will be coming back!

Our first time staying at an RV park and this one is great! The grounds are very nice and clean. They have a really nice bathroom with a shower. And laundry. Staff is nice too. They work hard to keep it clean. The only downer is cable. But other then that we would stay here again.

This RV park is immaculate!
It has really nice restrooms and laundry facilities. Actually it is the nicest restroom I have ever seen in a campground. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Also, the lady that checked us in was super nice.
Why not 5 stars?
It’s missing a few things. There are no picnic tables, or fire rings, or much for kids to do. In fact, it’s not really a kid place at all. There’s just a few feet of (perfectly manicured) grass between each site.
This is a great place to stop for the night. It’s quiet for a good night’s sleep, and you can have a great hot shower in the morning.
The wireless from my campsite was flakey — when it was working, bandwidth was measured at 3 – 5 Mbps.
