Always amazing! The rice is just sweet enough, the quality of the crab salad in California rolls and whatnot is top notch. Love this place! FYI if you come in late make sure to order and they make it quick and fresh ;)

Ate there one time with my daughter a few months ago, went there last night and it was horrible, the fish was dry and smelled fishy, thought about having my stomach pumped after a few bites. never going back, not worth the risk of getting sick, not to mention the sushi chef didn’t know how to make sushi without being shown how by the wait staff

Not impressed. except for the fact that they had a lot of food on the belt. It looked like they try to fix everything with duct tap. and my seat was ruined so it bubbled up. More than likely, I won’t be returning.

I am so upset! This has been my go to conveyor belt sushi place for 6 years since we moved to Portland. The prices were always great and my husband and I would always order a bunch of spicy crab rolls and jalenpeno rolls that were unlike any other. And they baked salmon roll was AMAZING. I could eat 100 of them. BUUUUT unfortunately the previous owners sold and now it is SO different! The environment and the quality does not seem as good. It breaks my heart because my husband took me here the day he proposed and we went there about 4 times a week when I was pregnant with my first baby. The owners were amazing and treated loyal customers like family. I don’t know if I can return

Too small of a selection, and not much variety. Three plates cost me almost $ 10 which is far too much for the quality of the food. The best tasting thing there was the ginger.

This used to be my favorite sushi place. Excellent service. Friendly staff. Fresh sushi and lots of choices. Now everything is changed. I think it was sold to new owners. Different feel. Sushi while good is rather on the boring side.

Had to go back and take away a star; now Sushi Train is back to 4 stars in my book. When I went in a couple days ago, the usual sushi chef didn’t make my sushi. My seared salmon was over-seared. Seared salmon here is $ 2.50 and at Sushi Land, it’s $ 1.50. In general, everything here is more expensive than Sushi Land. It may be better quality, but only marginally and not totally worth it. I’m going back to Sushi Land as I can eat more for less.

This is a really cool place! I love the concept of the sushi conveyor belt. You just look at the food as it is coming around on the belt, and take what you feel like eating. And the plates are so cheap! Some of them are only $ 1, and I think the most expensive plate on the belt was only $ 3.50 or $ 4.00. We sat at a booth directly beside the belt so that we could talk to each other and face each other but still have easy access to the sushi. I tried the Inari, the Spicy Tuna Roll, a couple different crunchy rolls, the seaweed salad, and plenty more. Everything was delicious and tasted pretty fresh. There were a few things that came around on the belt that did not look particularly fresh, so we just didn’t grab those things. A waitress was assigned to our table and did come and check on us occasionally, so we were able to order specific rolls that we wanted. I ordered a bowl of steamed rice, which came quickly. I had to ask a couple times for more water, but for the most part service was attentive. I’m not sure what our final bill was because another member of our party was very kind and paid for everyone, but I imagine it couldn’t have been huge given how cheap each plate was, and I left feeling very full and happy. Definitely a good lunch option for this area!

After reading reviews I was hoping to have a new sushi place to go to. I’m new to working in this area and used to sushi downtown. This was not very good sushi, it was a step down from Sushiland. Prices were higher than expected, the salmon had been sitting and was a bit too warm and small portions, also not cut consistently. What I disliked the most was the flavor of the rice, it was too sweet, their vinegar mixture and ratios need work because I couldn’t enjoy the fish flavors everything was overtaken by the flavor of the rice. The staff was wonderful though, they were very kind and eager to help make accommodations but it just wasn’t worth the money or trip. I unfortunately wont be back as I can tell the reasons I don’t like it weren’t a one time thing. It’s too bad.

What has happened to my beloved quick stop sushi track? It’s been a while since I visited(probably six months, as I relocated to Seattle 2.5 years ago and always try to make a stop here when in town), but I didn’t see the usual family members and the quality, especially the cleanliness of the place, has gone remarkably downhill. If the family that previously owned the place for the last 6+ years sold it, have they gone on to open another sushi place? This makes me super sad; every time I go back to Portland, I see my favorite places closing or under new management.

Ownership has changed, management and staff have changed, service is still good, quality is good, prices have risen a smidge. Still the best in Tualatin

Exquisite presentation! Exquisite taste and quality of ingredients! Exquisitely decorated. My new favorite sushi place! We had a variety of tuna rolls, salmon, mochi ice cream, calamari, cucumber salad, volcano roll, bacon roll, etc.

Place was awful, everything was overpriced and the sushi is a lot smaller compared to other conveyer belt sushi restaurants. I probably should have known better to expect quality from sushitrainwreck, but like most things in life this was a learning experience

I am addicted to sushi, I’ll admit it. That being said I have tried so many sushi places. And this place is AMAZING!!! I came on a Saturday, during lunch. Each fish was so fresh, the portions are very generous, and the price is wonderful for the quality. Not to mention top notch authenticity and original creations! There are so many options here you don’t see at most sushi places. And in a blind taste test, you would NEVER guess this was a track sushi place. It’s that good. I live an hour from here, and I will find either reasons to come back or just make that drive anyway. I don’t say that often. Try this place it, you will not be disappointed!

Nice people, awful sushi. I had to take a pill urgently with some food. I rarely eat sushi anymore as I’ve gone all but totally vegan, but desperate times call for desperate measures and I pulled into the bizarre maze of a parking lot to find Sushi Train. Ordered a Pepsi, gagged on the first sip — sent it back, it was just syrup. I shouldn’t be drinking that shit anyway, no problem, sent it back. Then I grabbed a spicy tuna roll and it was AWFUL. All of their fish is stinky, which means it’s bad. The place smells like a toilet. Against all hope I tried one of their specialty rolls, had to spit it out. Brown turned avocados, soft expired veggies, disgusting sweet sauce, tasteless Sriracha, and gross fake crab. I literally left having eaten one small piece of rancid tuna with my pill. Everything was warmish, room temperature, I can’t believe any of it experienced a cool breeze from the local grocery store to my table. T he locals, who clearly haven’t had even passable junk food sushi from many of the area sushi boat type places raved about it, so they’ve found their crowd, but they deserve a better fast food sushi place. It feels weird that they do the whole thing where everyone says welcome when a customer comes in, the slightly racist towards themselves, expected faux Asian thing you get in a teriyaki place or nail salon. Really nice people though.

Unlike my previous experience eating Sushi while staying in Tualatin, I found this local establishment to offer a decent plate of food at a reasonable cost. Although a bit small in terms of seating space, that quaint type of accommodation is what I’ve come to enjoy while munching down on a roll or two. Being shoulder to shoulder at the bar gave it a slightly traditional feeling and being greeted upon entry by the chef and staff added to the effect. It also seemed to be popular with the locals, considering it was almost at capacity during the mid afternoon. Unfortunately, because of that it did seem to take a while to get service and the check after finishing up. They also don’t accept American Express, which was a minor inconvenience. Though as I mentioned before, I found the food to be decent both in terms of price and quality. Although a little heavy on the sauces and creams, my soft shell crab was freshly made and tasted well-balanced on the palate. The same could be said about what was essentially a California roll facing upwards with a slice of salmon on top(again heavy on the sauce). The sashimi was particularity pleasant, being light on rice and with a thin quality cut of fish. It was refreshing to see the chefs actually take their time while preparing each roll, which seems to be an art lost among many sushi restaurants these days. Although a little loud and on the busy side, you get a pretty tasty bang for your buck and a somewhat authentic atmosphere while eating. And while its not at the top of the game for Japanese, you could do a lot worse then Sushi Train.

The train has fallen off the track here! The first thing we are told as we walk in the door was… «We are closing at 8:00» I’m sorry I said, Google says you close at 9:00? Yes we have called Google numerous times to get that changed! Oh well can we eat? Sure have a seat. As we are eating off the«track» of all the sushi that nobody else had eaten for the last hour we are asked… What can I make for you before we close? Nice! So we order. Then the entire staff goes into clean the whole restaurant and forget about the customers. 8:00 comes around and the music is turned off, the mops come out and we are rushed out of our seats. The bathroom stunk like urine and there was no hot water! Maybe it all went in the mop buckets? This place was awful!

Oh yes, I finally went back to this place and I find the food very good. I have been going here for lunch lately and it is comfortable, warm, and friendly. This place is very very clean. I like that in a sushi place. The chefs are right there and you don’t have to yell across the room to get their attention. The standard fair of sushi is fresh and they have some interesting new combinations. I like the cucumber tree. It’s a different delicious. They create more new things to try. I like it here :)
