Not the greatest, and not the cheapest, but it’s alright. It’s like a more expensive version of Denny’s. The food was fine, but pricewise I think it’s about 20 percent higher than it should be for what you get served. It’s a place for old people, and for families to come after church on Sunday. I used to dine here a long time ago — 15+ years ago, when I still lived in Oregon. When I come there to visit sometimes, I will go there. It used to be better than it is now. Bigger portions, lower pricing.

I had the Senior breakfast. It was a 2 egg vegetable omelette with 2 multigrain pancakes with a fruit salad.($ 7). With it I had a cup of decaf for $ 3. Thats with no refills. Otherwise I would give it 4 stars

Ignore all the whiners. This is a pretty good restaurant with reasonable prices. The food was pretty good when we went there. We had several people in our party and there were no problems. The place was packed when we arrived so that should tell you something.

Meh. Dirty, food was not good, and you had to wait a while even though the place wasn’t that busy. You can go just a little further and I’m sure you can find a mcdonalds eventually and enjoy it more.

Service was okay. The food was fine, nothing great. I would only recommend going here if you’re really hungry and have no other options. Definitely not going to come here again, I could get better food for the same price.

This is a good place to eat. The service is good and the food is good in general. I especially like the liver and onions. However, the biscuits are an embarrassment! They are heavy and small. Certainly not up to the standard of the rest of the restaurant. Just switch to the same kind of biscuits that they sever at KFC, or example. I know they are probably a little more expensive, but what you are serving now is REALLY bad. Please fix that.

Finally tried Village Inn after often driving past it. I ordered something from the lunch menu even tho it seemed everyone else was ordering breakfast food. The color scheme is different, maybe from the 70’s? Restaurant was clean, the food was okay, service was average, prices are average. It’s a casual family type place. Great location across from bridgeport village, easy access to I-5.

I know there are restaurants close by with fancy names and even have cloth napkins… But this place really puts on a good breakfast. Very rarely disappointed! So park your Bentley and your ego at the door and enjoy yourself! West-Morris

Sorry, but I cannot recommend this Village Inn. We used to love Village’s Inn’s «Low Carb» menu because they didn’t serve bread and had a great variety of basic meats w/veggies or egg dishes w/breakfast meats, which were simple, small portions and delicious. The prices were fairly reasonable as well, which was nice. Also, they have plenty of parking which is convenient and you never seem to have to wait for dinner. That said, beware — The service can be slow and their management doesn’t care about customer experience or satisfaction. The last time we went, I ordered a Medium Rare steak. They brought everyone’s dish but mine and the waiter apologized stating the steak had been overcooked and the chef was making a new one. Then 20 minutes later they brought me a steak that was basically raw, with just the sides browned. I tried eating the cooked parts, but basically left 95% of it untouched. When we got to the counter to pay the bill, I complained that the steak was inedible due to it being basically raw. The manager on duty said, «Oh that’s too bad,» as she swiped my credit card for the entire amount of the bill. No apologies. No offer of a discount off the bill. Not a care whatsoever. That was our last visit.

This is my favorite place to take my young son out for breakfast. Great traditional breakfasts, reasonable prices. They have a few good healthier options, which I appreciate. I really love their egg white & mozzarella omelet and turkey sausage. The service has always been fast & friendly; and the place is very clean. If you want diner food, this place is a good choice.

I’m surprised that The VI doesn’t have higher ratings. We usually come here from breakfast although they have a lunch and dinner menu. The menu is huge. It takes me ten minutes to make my decision. I always start with hot chocolate WITH whipped cream AND sprinkles! Yum. The food is not earth shattering but it’s always consistent and the service is great. Yesterday I took the option to order my way. There are a number of items that you can choose from and you can literally make your own menu. I had chicken fried steak(the mini size), bacon, link sausage and cinnamon toast pancakes. Yes, I like food that’s not exactly«good» for me. It was yummy though. Great location, good food and nice service. It’s what’s for breakfast.

I’m revising my review for two reasons: Cleanliness, and attentiveness. I can’t stand it when I find a sticky booth, crumbs on the table, or dirty utensils. I found none of that here. Everything was very clean. Not a speck of dust anywhere. I was pretty surprised by this because quite frankly, I don’t have as high of expectations when I go to a more affordable place, and also because it was pretty late in the day. I would assume that most places do the heavy duty cleaning after they close so I understand if things are less than sparkly clean near closing time. The other reason for the bonus star is that the owner replied to my review. I didn’t say anything fantastic or horrible, so I wasn’t expecting any kind of acknowledgement. Getting a «thanks for your review» note really makes me feel like they care about the customer. Here’s my original review: I had breakfast-for-dinner here, and ordered the strawberry crepes. I’m not a crêpe expert, so I’m not really sure what they«should» taste like, but I’ve been on a crêpe kick lately. The crepes at Village inn were very different than the ones I had somewhere else. The crepes here at VI were much thicker, more yellow, and tasted like egg. They weren’t bad, just different. The strawberries tasted very fresh and sweet and there was plenty of cream and whipped cream. YUM. The restaurant was not very busy, but the service was quite slow. The server and cashier were both friendly and helpful though. There was also someone just going around doing refills. A nice touch.

Some mornings you’re just in the mood for food. Yes, I love me some fancy, wait in line for a little too long, organic/local/housemade brunch. But sometimes, you just want to get in, eat big portions of food, get a whole pot of coffee to yourself, and get out. A and I have a little soft spot for Village Inn because it’s dependable. When we work a crazy AM shift on Saturdays/Sundays, we come here for breakfast to pretend it all never happened and to initiate the start of our«weekend.» The waiters/waitresses are always prompt and nice. They are usually super efficient and don’t lounge around for a convo, which in the morning is much appreciated. For two people, you get your own pot of coffee that you can refill yourself. LOVE that. The food always comes out in record time. A gets the ultimate skillet and I usually get either get the country sausage crepes or country sausage potato pancake benedict or the VIB pick your own breakfast. It’s always good. If we are planning a Game of Thrones marathon or something of the sort later in the weekend, we’ll plan on getting a couple slices of pie to go. It’s good. Not Banning’s good, but decent. You pay at the register/pie counter on your way out. Efficient, I tell you! You aren’t waiting around for the server to pick up your check & card & bring it back so you can leave whenever you are finished. We never feel rushed. It’s not a destination, but it’s a good reliable place with friendly people.

This is a consistent breakfast go to when on the south end of town. It is not hip. It is not from Portlandia. There is a wait but most places(that don’t suck) have a wait for breakfast on the weekends. This is the equivalent of a west coast diner. We don’t really have them out here. I usually get the make your own omelette. Isn’t made with the greatest skill but it is tasty and consistently fresh and reliable. My gf likes the choose your own combo where she can get fruit and granola and some sort of dead animal protein. The pancakes are good. Hashbrowns not greasy. The coffee is not good. You’re not coming here for good coffee. You know what you’re getting. It’s weak and has very little flavor profile. But I’ve had worse. Another plus: eating with the post-church Lake Oswego crowd makes you fell reverent AND important!

So this is a great little breakfast place, it’s my daughters favorite place to go for Sunday brunch The staff are fast and friendly, we get the vib, you pick like 4 – 7 things, she loves the strawberry crapes Crayons and coloring, and breakfast out with you favorite little one. This place is always packed on Sundays!!! Thank you!!!

No surprises here, just your typical pancake, eggs and coffee type of breakfast. So, if you are in the mood for the all American bfast this is your spot. Similar to a Dennis or Cocos.

I’ve eaten here a handful of times over the last 6 years or so. I think its safe to say that you get what you expect from Village Inn. Always good but never great. I agree that its a small step up from Shari’s and quite a bit better than Denny’s, for sure. Reasonable prices and I’ve always been happy with the service. You’ll likely come to the same conclusion that I have: Good but not great. You won’t likely leave upset but neither will you rave about the place. Because I’ve found it to be consistently okay, I will continue to come back.

Came here not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. I would rate this location above Shari’s, Denny’s, Elmer’s or any of those places — and I will definitely be returning. The menu was clean and simple, which was nice. But I mean it was truly clean, it wasn’t sticky or stained or anything. Pleasant surprise. Tables and seats? Also quite clean. The décor was also very clean and inviting. I actually like the pictures on the wall, it fits well. The color scheme is warm. The seats and chairs, also clean. The service was friendly, professional, and prompt. No complaints there. The food was just what I was looking for. Breakfast with link sausage, bacon, flavorful hashbrowns, and eggs done as requested. Again, no complaints. I wasn’t expecting much walking in, but was surprised at what I got. I will definitely be going back.

Great service. Clean, attractive restaurant. Fantastic breakfast. The best VI I’ve eaten at in 10 years.(Well, truthfully I’ve only eaten at maybe three others in the past ten years, mostly when traveling). I had written off the brand, but this restaurant has amazing service(Gail was fantastic!), a fresh, clean décor and a menu selection to please everyone. A very pleasant surprise! (Oh, and if you love pumpkin pancakes, they are very tasty).

This is a regular business spot for me because the service is dependable and pleasant, the food is not bad, not excellent(Homestyle, mostly) and it’s a well– known location to find off the freeway. I swear by the four egg whites. I have yet to see a diner get egg whites as light, fluffy and yummy as this place.
