This place is pretty good! There never really is a disappointing moment with them. I only gave it 3 stars because it’s not accommodating for guests who want to dine in, they don’t deliver & it’s a little pricy.

The burritos are huge. I had the spinach and mushroom burrito it was very good. I thought it might come with french fries, so I ordered those on the side. It was a good meal, my wife had a taco salad, and my two girls 9 and 12 had quesadillas and shared a bean burrito. We had a great time, the service was fast and friendly. I will be returning there frequently.

I see a rather large number of Hipster-types reviewing this place to argue about the authenticity of the Mexican food. Okay, first things first, if you are hanging out in Tuckahoe, NY you have to realize you aren’t actually in Mexico and you’ll be getting something more Americanized. Just like the Chinese food you pick up from the local Chinese food joints isn’t «authentic» Chinese. Restaurants have to play to their clientele, that is how they stay in business. Now, as far as Burrito Poblano is concerned… We found this location about a year ago when we moved into the area. Before that we had been frequenting a small Mexican place in South Yonkers(the food there was hit or miss, but I digress). It doesn’t look like much from the outside. It is just a little hole in the wall sandwiched between a convenience store, and another indiscernible shop(real estate, maybe, never seen anyone come or go from there), in a strip of stores with apartments overhead. Parking on Main Street can be a bit complicated during peak hours, but that’s fine. Inside the place lives up to its«hole in the wall» exterior. There is some décor, but the food is where all the focus is placed. The burritos are enormous and really tasty. Everything comes with three different sauces, so you can truly customize your experience. The chips are fresh and absolutely delicious, and the salsa is freshly made and great, too. I enjoy the tamales the most, as they are hard to find at other Mexican locations in the area. I’ve never had the tostadas before, but everyone I know who has had them has enjoyed them. The chipotle steak burrito is delicious, but VERY spicy, so be warned. The chicken burritos are out of this world, too. The rice and beans are a great addition to any meal(and cheap, too!). The staff is kind, well-trained and happy to chat if you are interested in having a conversation. You can order directly online from their website, which is a nice touch. It makes pick up REALLY easy, and I’ve never had a mistake made on anything I’ve ordered(I LOVE that you can customize your food even while ordering online). The only thing holding me back from giving Burrito Poblano five-stars is the fact that they don’t deliver. That would really round this place out and make it a five-star experience. Mexican delivery is hard to come by in the area(Blue Moon is the only one I’ve found that offers delivery). They could totally corner the market if they delivered!

Always a go-to spot for me. The shredded pork tacos are the tits. I haven’t had everything, but the various meals I did have were always on point.

Possibly the best Mexican food we have tasted in NYC area! Location — great. Service — unbelievably fast, efficient, kind, attentive. Food — outstanding!!! Atmosphere — feels very authentic. Price — very reasonable. Definitely will be going back and recommending. If we could give 10 stars, we would.

This is a great place with very reasonable prices for dinner. Even the wine is reasonable. It is not real fancy so don’t expect anything extravagant. It is a casual place that you can wear jeans to and have a good dinner. Can’t go wrong having dinner here.

This restaurant has been a family favorite for years. I could not recommend the Burrito Poblano more highly. The food is amazing, but it’s the staff that sets the Burrito Poblano apart. It’s clear that everyone who works here loves their job, and no wonder — the owner is a lovely man who cares about all his waiters and the ladies in the kitchen deeply. Customers can expect the same, especially regulars. Try sitting at the counter and you’ll surely see what makes the Burrito Poblano the best Mexican restaurant in the area.

Hands down BEST Mexican in the area. Fresh fresh fresh salsas, guac… Outstanding mole. Super casual and even great for take out. I love it; my kids love it. We’ve have frequented Burrito Poblano for years — always a great meal.

Not the best seasoned food but the free chips and pico and salsa are an amazing first taste. The hard shell ground beef taco was yummy but the carnitas are not seasoned well and a bit soggy. Stick to the hard shells!

Pure delight. The salsa and chips that come after you order are not in any way short of freshly and newly chopped and seasoned vegetables. We ordered tacos singular and I ordered a tostada. All food was ordered Mexican style meaning with cilantro and onions instead of lettuce tomato and cheese. My tostada came with large slices of avocado that wasn’t quite ripe, because I assume the ripe avocado went into my deliciously made guacamole taco. The bf ordered chorizo and a carne taco. The chorizo was amazing, he couldn’t even recall what kind of carne came on the other. The meal comes with a trifecta of cream freche tomatillo sauce and a sweet red. All good additions to the tacos even though we preferred the tomatillo to the red. Also we got to watch the European cup final football match on tv.

Whenever I’m in the mood for Mexican this is my go-to spot. Being a vegetarian, I usually opt for the guacamole burrito which is ginormous and delicious. I don’t have any vegetarian friends and everyone I eat here with loves everything they order, as well. The service is always friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Definitely recommend this place!

Go to Chipotle Instead! I ordered a burrito online for $ 6, expecting steak and flavorful ingredients– instead I got an over-priced lackluster burrito with no meat that gave me the runs… The place might be good for a sit down meal, but if you want Mexican food on the go– chipotle is cheaper and tastier. I could’ve made the same thing at home and I wouldn’t have gotten sick. The place can and hopefully will improve, but until it is a viable competitor to chipotle I won’t eat their again.

I visited Burrito poblano because I live in the area and saw it had 4 stars. We ordered the burrito(huge), guacamole, the tacos and chimichangas. I have been to many Mexican restaurants and the food here was just okay for me. There was nothing extraordinary about it. The guacamole was not chunky and creamy as it should be. They only serve bottled drinks. Wish they had margaritas at least. This is not a place to come to and enjoy a drink and a good meal with your friends, or celebrate cinco de mayo. But more like a quick stop for people who can’t/don’t cook and don’t have a latin palate. What I do give them is the portion size and the service. The server was nice and pleasant. Would I come back again or recommend? Hummm…

Steak like leather, could still see the crop marks where the jockey was beating it. Seriously inedible in my ‘steak burrito’. Subpar rice and school cafeteria lettuce. Quite respectable free chips and pico. Big screen tv with bcn playing. Cold negro modelo. Not atmospheric in the least — like a mexican highway rest stop. Steady stream of gringos in shorts picking up take out food to take back to their million dollar bungalows.

I loved the pico de gallo. I liked the festive atmosphere. It looks like a fun place to hang out late night — like a Mexican sports bar or something along those lines. I ordered the avocado tomato salad which was actually pretty good. Very filling to begin with. Then I ordered the jalapeño veggie quesadillas which was decent. It was unique — I’ve never seen something like that on the menu. My boyfriend ordered a veggie burrito. I didn’t eat any so I can’t tell you how it tastes. I was a bit let down that they didn’t have any coffee but it is what it is. The FIFA game was on so it created an enthusiastic atmosphere. The service was fast and attentive. Solid place. Might come back if I’m in the area and there is nowhere else to go.

Sorry Lisa but I too have to say that you are either not truly a foodie or you simply don’t know just how wonderful BP is. First off then«pico del gallo» is delicious and my wife and I prefer it over salsa any day! Now to the food. The Quac is fresh and chunky which is how it should be. They have plenty of hot sauce choice to spice things up if necessary although if you order a traditionally hot dish you won’t be disappointed at all. The Mole sauces are excellent and the pork chop Mole is delicious and spicy! Their burritos are delicious as are the rice and beans. There is always a game on the tv, often soccer and the service is prompt and friend. This is a terrific find and the food is better than Blue Moons. Just think beer not booze.

I was in the mood for Mexican one night with my wife and since there was no immediate places around, we decided to give Burrito Poblano a try. We have been fans ever since! We have never formally eaten at the location but typically order out. Orders are always ready within 15 – 20 minutes. They are a not inexpensive, but the food is delicious. My favorite is definitely the spicy pork enchilada with Mole sauce. The Guacamole always tastes delicious. We have had occasion where they might screw up the order, but the food we get is delicious regardless.
