I visit here a lot, and have never been disappointed. Frequently get their scones, which although not the best I’ve ever had, are superior to most that you can find at bakeries. It’s an issue of freshness in a lot of cases. The quiche is very tasty. Good coffee and iced coffee. I haven’t tried too many of their pastries, but whenever I’ve tried something, it’s been yummy. I’m just typically more tempted by the bakery items at say a Magnolia Bakery than I am for French or Italian baked goods, despite how beautiful everything looks.(Probably a good thing considering how close this bakery is to my house!) Always have particularly beautiful decorated items in the window. They don’t have too many tables, but one can usually find a spot if you’d like to go and enjoy a treat there with someone. Definitely a fan!

Stopped by to get some Irish soda bread, ended up leaving with a chocolate ganache cake, cookies, small spinach pies and a piece of Napoleon. It is a Delicious place that always seems to be full of hungry people.

Back in February my brother and I purchased a cake for our mother’s birthday from another bakery. After we had picked up that cake we found out that she hated the flavor we purchased(opps!). We had to hustle to rectify the situation and Martine’s was one of only a few bakeries opened on a Monday. We were really happy we found it. Everything in the display looks absolutely amazing, and the fruit tart we ended up buying was outrageous, as were the cupcakes. The decorations on these cakes are really stunning and there are very few bakeshops(if any) in the area that do it as well. The prices were very reasonable for the level of detail in the decorations, too. If you are looking for a cake for a special occasion that really looks special and tastes amazing, you should give this bakery a shot. They have food and coffee, although we didn’t try any so I can’t speak of that. We will be back to give that a try one day, too.

When Martine’s first opened, I was a fan and loyal weekend customer, but things have consistently gone down hill from a quality and service perspective. The pastries aren’t what they used to be – the croissants often seem stale and they’ve taken to adding a sugar wash over chocolate croissants and almost croissants moving away from the simplicity in taste that makes a french breakfast pastry so delicious. The lack of quality has had me driving from Bronxville to La Renaissance in Scarsdale on the weekends to get breakfast for my family — the 15 minute drive is worth the effort. In addition to the quality, the service at Martine’s is disorganized and I frequently arrive home to find I’ve been charged for pastries that weren’t packed for me. Once a month, this might be tolerable, once a visit, it’s totally aggregating. There’s also the little things … They insist on putting all your pastries in bags(less organized and more cumbersome) than a box which lays items out clearly and the staff seems in constant confusion. I’m generally supportive of our local businesses but unfortunately Martine’s isn’t cutting it.

I love this place! It’s located in the heart of Scarsdale with a great sitting area! The pastries here are delicious and the staff is always friendly! The coffee cakes are amazing. Love the red velvet cake, carrot cake, and the chocolate ganache mousse cake is amazing– always a winner!

Management is responsive to community feedback. My mother had to school them on how to wrap a fresh sliced rye bread. They just threw the bread in shopping bag; turned my Mom off. Mom insisted they wrap the bread in a small plastic«cake» bag. They got confused but complied. Mom said she wouldn’t buy a bread that wasn’t properly wrapped/protected. Snotty bosses. For a while I was spending thirty bucks a week here, getting Mom her Rye Bread and sitting for a cappuccino and Israeli salad with tahini. They won’t let you use bathroom. The bosses are snotty. They appropriated Italian and Italian-American delights: fritatta, cappuccini. They have an upper class French sensibility. There’s 5 or 6 small tables, the Eastchester privileged clientele can be pushy and competitive when waiting/competing for a table. The girls behind counter work hard and are great. Once I complained when there wasn’t enough jelly in donut, asked for more on side, the girl had to circumvent her boss to accommodate. The girls are often put in that position with customers. high end cakes. good quality. gorgeous. expensive.

This little coffee/pastry shop in Tuckahoe village is cute and it carries a huge variety of pastries, cakes and bonbons. I want with my mom and we enjoyed very much the cappuccinos, the macaroons and the apple fingers.

Their jelly-filled donut was undercooked(raw dough-gross) and the counter help fought me on it saying«no one else complained», so I doubt they’re going to be improving this one. The plain cinnamon and sugar however was perfectly cooked and delicious. The cases were filled with other delicious-looking items. It’s worth a drive here.

Had the French toast and some coffee here a couple of weeks ago. The employees were very attentive, the coffee was very good and the French toast good. They have some incredible looking sweets I would love to try another time.

I think their coffee is outstanding and definitely the best in the Tuchahoe/Eastchester area(kol hakavod). I like my coffee very light so I have them froth the milk and it comes out nice and hot(I know, my machismo is out of control). The young ladies behind the counter are friendly and attentive. My only criticism is that I wish they would buy some Sweet’N Low! I’m looking forward to going back and trying their food.

The strawberry shortcake that I had recently ordered with real strawberries is something to die for! Extremely tasty and fresh! The bite sized mini cupcakes were simply superb! Loved it all! Highly highly recommended!

I like to stop in on my way to work now and then for a quick breakfast, and the shop is always quick and pleasant. It’s a great way to start the day. The coffee is a little better than most delis, the rolls for egg sandwiches are always soft and fresh, and they’re the only bakery around for yeast raised doughnuts made in house. For lunch, both falafel and sabich are fantastic, and the size of my head. My friend and I each ordered falafel for lunch and easily could have shared one! Cakes and cookies we’ve tried have always been good quality. Nothing groundbreaking just the classics done well.

As a Creatwood native, this is one of my favorite places. A variety of classic and excellent pastries, cookies, cakes, tarts, café goods, and breakfast/lunch sandwiches. Best place to pick up a dessert for a party/event. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the prices. That’s the catch, but you get what you pay for.

Found this place on accident and found it to be pretty decent for the few times I’ve been here. The desserts, namely the strawberry shortcake and tiramisu have been fantastic. Had a couple sandwiches here which were so-so, ie a bit bland. As other reviewers point out the place aint cheap, but in the few times I’ve stopped here it doesn’t seem to be keeping people away. The workers here are young(average age seems to be about 11 yrs old) and are sometimes indifferent if not out and out unfriendly. Probably a combination of age and being from such a hoidy-toidy county, but pay your money, leave and enjoy your food. And apparently… check for mold?

Amazing bakery. I can’t believe I walked past this bake shoppe every day for a year and just now stopped in this past weekend. There is a huge selection of unique pastries, desserts, breads and even ice cream. I went with some banana nutella cake, which had a banana cream-type layer, a vanilla cake layer and a nutella-mousse layer, topped with fresh fruits. Just fantastic. $ 4.75 I also ordered the«Symphony» for the boyfriend — oreo pie crust, cream cheesecake, topped with chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache. Incredible! I’d highly recommend this if you’re a cheesecake fan like I am. $ 4.50 They also had a wide selection of decorative cakes. Great place to pick up some fancy desserts…
