Been here several times it’s ALWAYS a hit or miss! Stale tasteless cheesecake, custards are good– when they have them — cookies are dry most of the time. Always empty trays in the display as if they’re closing meanwhile it’s 1pm!!! Save your money because they are pricey. Rather drive to Portchester to Neri’s– cheaper and always fresh!

I can’t get enough of this plAce. The pastries are always so fresh and made in house. The chocolate mousse cake is out of this world !!! New owners have really cleaned the place up so warm and inviting!!!

Café Nuccio’s sfogliatelle will taste superb if you grew up in Ct, but if you grew up off Tremont Avenue in the Bronx, then it’ll taste lifeless. It’s all on your experience. For Westchester, this is good enough, but if you have the time, go to the Bronx to «Sal and Dom’s» then you’ll know what everything is supposed to taste like, and how the textures can feel in your mouth and the memory in your soul.

Bought cannoli’s here and they had filler in the cream. Gummy looking things. Not going back.

Nice little, friendly pastry shop. Immaculately clean, great selection of cookies and Italian pastries. Warning don’t go in on an empty stomach, you will want to eat everything. Give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Caffe Trento was a pretty nice mom and pop pastry shop with a good enough cannoli and napoleon that you didn’t feel the need to travel any further.

I think the pastries and cookies are the best you can get without having to go to Arthur Avenue but I went in there on a Sunday and asked for a loaf of ITALIANBREAD. You would think that an ITALIANBAKERY would have ITALIANBREAD but they don’t. It wasn’t like they were out, they simply don’t make Italian bread there. BIZARRE! Otherwise I could live on their pignoli nut cookies. NOBREADTHOUGH!

The fact that this place was selected as the best in Westchester by Westchester magazine says a lot about the dismal state of Italian bakeries in Westchester. This place is like so many others in and around the area — not horrible, but not that great either. It’s in the shopping mall by the PathMark on lower Central Avenue. For a tiny place it seems to have a large clientele since there are plenty of people every time I’ve gone, which is probably good since everything seems very fresh. It’s cash only which is very annoying in this day and age. They slightly overbake their pastries compared to other places in the area, which seems to be fine as it keeps them from going soggy. The cannoli are good, the clam shells are also. There is one pastry with vanilla and chocolate cream sandwiched between two cake like cookies that are just awful. Everything else is just OK, typical of what you find in lower Westchester. They all seem to taste pretty much the same, which makes me think that they all use the same commercial ingredients and not much is made from scratch. Overall, it’s OK. If I’m in the area and feel like having a cannoli or clam shell I stop in.

One of the places that makes me proud to be a YO native! Delicious pastries: cannoli, sfingi, pinoli cookies, and luscious tiramisu. Whenever my friend from FL visits, she makes a bee-line here for their cannoli cream and shells so she can pipe them in and eat them after her flight home! I took her there recently right before her flight home. They packed all the shells nicely for her and gave her a tub of their chocolate chip cannoli cream!(How she had the willpower not to dive into that tub face-first, I have no idea — that thing wouldn’t have stood a chance if I flew home with it!)

Everytime I have to pass by I have to get the tiramisu. To be honest I don’t even look at the other pastries and desserts they offer. It’s really that good.

The only thing that I find myself returning to buy are the cannoli’s, or anything that has cannoli cream in it. They will fill the cannoli’s fresh for you if you ask, rather than taking from the premade cannoli’s in the display. Have had the cookies and they aren’t anything to die for or that you shouldn’t expect from an Italian bakery.

Located in the(sort of) run down Pathmark shopping center on Central Avenue, you wouldn’t think that Caffe Trento would be a quality Italian bakery. But the not very fancy interior, Bacci candy, guidette who blatantly is on BBM in front of you, and little old Italian guy behind the counter make me put my trust into the $ 10 lb/cookie assortment somehow… These cookies are gone in a matter of minutes at family gatherings! From most bakeries, Italian bakery cookies can be really dry and crumbly and suspiciously colored, but these are so fresh. Even those gross green, yellow, and red ones with the jelly are devoured in a matter of seconds — imagine THAT! The ones with pignoli nuts are by far the best. The tiramisu is made fresh daily and you can also order custom cakes.

Quaint, private near the Pathmark Center mall area. They have a wide variety of Italian pastries and gourmet coffees. Prices are pretty decent but still a bit high. But I guess that’s not too surprising for the rising costs of foods these days. Suggestions… of course … try the tiramisu there, they make it fresh everyday. The strong taste of espresso never can be a bad thing, a pinch of marscapone cheese and lady fingers. YUP you have yourself a true authentic italian dessert. Don’t forget to get some cappucino while you are there.

When I found out that I’d be stuck in Yonkers M-F for the month, I was totally bummed. I mean, seriously — what could be any exciting in the tiniest bit in… Yonkers??? Well, turns out — there is this amazing little Italian bakery just near where I’m held hostage. THANKGOD, I said upon discovery, because I was really on the verge of popping Prozac to ease the sorrows of being stuck in such a boring town. This award-winning(best bakery in Westchester in 2004) bakery offers everything from cappuccino(oh so good!) to mini pastries(my favorite!) to Italian cookies to cakes of all kinds. The mini pastries are $ 9 per lb, and the cookies range from $ 8 to $ 13 per lb. Cappuccino(with cinnamon on top) will set you back only $ 2. It’s a family-run business that’s been around for a long time — the owners still greet the local patrons behind the counter day in and day out. Their son is quite the charmer and comes to help out every now and then. In addition to being a lovely eye candy, he’s really friendly and JUST might give you some samples to try. So, ladies… hit the road to Yonkers! ;-)
