My wife and I went to the Tap House for the first time last night. We jokingly asked the host for the best table in the restaurant and actually got it. We were seated in the fireplace room directly in front of the fireplace. To get to the fireplace room you have to literally walk through the restaurant kitchen«Goodfellas» style, which was kind of fun. The servers were all very polite, friendly and helpful. The pretzel appetizer was served quickly and included warm, soft pretzels. Believe it or not you don’t always get warm, soft pretzels at other restaurants so I thought I would mention it. The cheese sauce and mustard were both tasty. The mustard has a kick to it and will clean out your sinuses. Being at the Tap house we made sure to order a couple of seasonal beers with our meal. My bratwurst entrée was terrific. The bratwurst, sauerkraut with bacon, and potato salad were all packed with flavor. My wife said her flank steak was cooked medium as requested and was very flavorful. We ordered the ice cream cookie for dessert. The ice cream was very very rich and creamy. Overall the Tap House had great atmosphere, food and service. We’ll be back soon.

The drinks and the atmosphere are great The bar is a great place to have a glass of wine after you get off the train

I give up. My family and I have eaten here many times over the years and I’m always disappointed. Our last visit was the worst yet-rude waitress and very below average food, from the appetizers(fried calamari and tough tuna tartar-yuk) to the chicken piccata(it’s hard to mess up this simple dish but they did by giving it zero flavor and serving with wilted lettuce) The waitress never smiled or said hello and neglected to mention any specials. When we asked for the dessert menu she said there wasn’t one and gave us the check. We love the atmosphere and beer/drink menu but wish they could figure out a way to serve better food and hire professional staff. Too bad

This is one of those unfortunate places that is absolutely beautiful inside… and that’s where the positives end. Great bar to sit and eat at. Too bad the food is less than average. It’s just not good. Tuckahoe needs some really great food options… and this isn’t one of them.

I ate @ the bar last night. I started w/a Palm draft coupled w/warm goat cheese & artichoke dip. Next was a Brooklyn Brewmaster’s Reserve coupled w/the Short Rib & Blue Cheese aioli sliders w/fried onions(good Idea for a slider). The Tap House is a true Gastro Pub w/both good food & beer. I’ll be back, probably sooner then later. This review was saved as a draft and never posted from a few years ago. It got posted by mistake today. Sorry

I love this place. My wife and daughter come here every other week(or so). The atmosphere is wonderful. It always has a decent crowd, high energy, but not overwhelmingly loud. The interior is warm(both literally and visually) and comfortable. The wait staff are unfailingly great — we’ve had numerous servers and they always seem to be in a good mood, with prompt attention. The food is very good. It is not going to change your whole outlook on life and make you question why you’ve ever eaten anything or anywhere else, but it’s uniformly yummy. I recommend the bratwurst(the German potato salad rules), the meatloaf, the rigatoni w/lamb ragout… all totally good. My only sadness with Tap House is that they’ve removed their blue crab dip from the menu, which was a totally epic appetizer. I think the only thing I’ve had there that was a bit«meh» was the chicken milanese, which certainly was not bad, just not quite as flavorful as other items(the chicken was a bit dry and the breading not terribly flavorful). Great spot for a good meal.

So we went today with 12 people total to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. VERY pleased overall, with food, service, and overall ambience. Short rib sliders were TODIEFOR. Simply done with thinly sliced onion strings and light amount of blue cheese aioli. Not sure why they don’t come with fries for the $ 16, but no big deal. Everyone else really liked their dishes — challah French toast, quiche of the day, house nachos. Definitely recommend this for others to try!

Gone back and had their mussels and seafood pasta specials. I like the food here. Pasta was a little overcooked and would have liked it al dente. Like the overall layout of this place. However, the back area can be a little too dark for me, especially when it’s still daylight. This is more of a personal preference, but I bring it up since I was hoping to sit in the front of the restaurant.

We met a few friends for a dinner while visiting from Florida. We have been here so often in the past, that when my friend recommended meeting there, we were all for it. We have always had consistently decent food in the past. My husband and I were not very hungry and decided that a $ 12 order of nachos with chili and cheese would be the perfect thing for us. Well, we were wrong. They were served in a soup bowl and there were probably not more than a handful of chips with awful(heavy nutmeg flavor) chili– very disappointing We won’t be coming back

Consistently good food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. I enjoy the Taphouse for food and drinks. The only thing I do not like is the lack of televisions. «We are not a sports bar» — fine but upgrade the two small TVs you have and put one in the center of the bar. Also — not advertised but an order of sliders is 4 $ until 7pm ;)

My husband and I stopped by this restaurant for a quick drink on a Saturday afternoon. The people and atmosphere were so nice(especially the bartender, Dave), we stayed for dinner. We started with the guacamole to accompany our 1st round of drinks. It was creamy and mild and served with tricolor tortilla chips. It could have used a bit more spice. For dinner, I had fish and chips. The fish was very fresh, flakey and delicious. It came with very crunchy string fries. I didn’t really like them so bartender Dave brought over regular fries, I didn’t even ask for them. Dave saw that I didn’t like what came with the fish, and just brought over the regular fries. My husband had steak. It came with mashed potatoes and a vegetable. There was not one morsel of food left on his plate when we were done. Will definitely return.

Food has been good in the past, but make sure you don’t go on a Monday apparently. Took some family from out of town to the restaurant and were embarrassed that we did. First, they forgot one of our drink orders. Second, they didn’t bring us bread(although we had bread plates the entire meal). And lastly, the apple salad didn’t have any apples in them. What the heck!!! The beets from the beet salad also had to be dug out from the bottom and even then there were just a few. They didn’t apologize or try to make it right. They just dumped sliced apples on our table. Classy. I’m not sure if I’ll ever recommend this place again.

Found this place on open table but checked the reviews on Unilocal before making reservations. Came here on Mother’s Day, menu was a bit limited but the food was good & the service was flawless. Will be back for at least a drink. They have delirium which is a bit difficult to find in Westchester.

Unfortunately — did not have a good experience here. Wanted to try it — it was in the area and we’ve been trying all the local spots. Had a very nice waiter(wasn’t his fault) — started with a dirty wine glass and a flat diet coke — sort of went down from there. Sorry to say — this restaurant is checked off.

Great bartender there most week nights. He makes a mean dirty martini. Ice cold and very dry. The apps here are terrific as well as the sandwiches. Lovely old space and is perfect right off the train for a quick dinner after work.

Finally decided to try this place and I am so glad I did. The hostess was very nice. Our waiter/the bartender made sure we were happy and liked the food(which was impeccable!) I had the braised Brussels as an appetizer which were perfectly done and the PEI Mussels as a main meal(to-die-for) Overall everything was delightful and this is easily a new favorite place to go!

Came twice for brunch and left with mixed feelings both times. While our waitress for the most part was good, the service in general seems misguided, to put it nicely. The Croque Madame was delicious. It wasn’t a traditional Croque Madame as it was served on a croissant but I found that to be a welcomed change along with the béchamel/hollandaise sauce. The pork sandwich sounds amazing in theory but the pork belly isn’t charred and so it just ends up a greasy fatty mess. The fries on the side are great though. The décor is pretty nice.

We went for lunch on Saturday, the service was attentive and helpful. Food was really enjoyable: we had the buffalo wings which were really good as well as the Pork grill cheese: which included three cuts of pork and muenster cheese it was pork heaven sandwich. We plan on making this one of our regular places.

The interior is nice and spacious; lots of dark wood panels. I’d see it as a place to have a drink or a burger. This is not a good brunch place, however. The food was bland and mediocre. At 11 a.m. on a Sunday, my friend and I were the only patrons. There was one more couple that came in between 11:30 and 12:30. Our initial cup of coffee arrived cold. When we asked for a hot refill, the gentleman who worked there quickly apologized and brought out fresh coffee. The breakfast crêpe was forgettable: pretty much eggs and cheese with a side of cantaloupe and some grapes. The fruit were ripe, so that was pleasant. For the price, I would have received similar, if not better food, at a Starbucks across the parking lot.
