I think they have closed down. Sole friends and Friends and I had arranged to meet for happy hour but when we arrived the doors were locked and all the patio furniture was gone. We checked their hours and their Facebook page and both indicated that they should be open. Called the phone number and it went to a full mailbox. Yikes! Not a good sign

Former employee as of today, very sad to see this wonderfully managed establishment get closed abruptly. As of last night, the doors were closed on us by the owner. It came as a complete shock because we(the employees) were given no heads up on the closure until Saturday evening. Very unprofessional on the owners’ part and shame on them for not only handling that recklessly, but for also screwing us over financially! Very disappointed on how things had to end.

Saw their website advertising, «kitchen open every night until midnight!» Exclamation point and everything. Walked in at 11:01pm. There were still people inside and the music was blaring. The hostess just stared at me. I asked her, «are you open?» She gave me an unapologetic smirk and said, «we just closed.» There were other people in the parking lot behind me, so I hope the were prepared for disappointment. I’d be happy to revise my review once I actually get to try armitage. Hopefully they will decide to abide by their posted hours whenever I feel like going back. As for tonight, union public house earned my business for being a late night foothills restaurant that abides by its hours. Too bad. I’m an excellent tipper.

This place is an absolutely perfect setting for what we want out of sunday brunch. good eggs benedict. good huevos rancheros, and we love bringing the pup.(happy dogs only though) the bloody mary could use some work. but the sparkling wine cocktail selection is a good one. plates are usually prepared with care, and precision. also their fries are different but one of the best.

A couple weeks ago me and the gf decided to spend the day at La Encantada. Shopping around and going for a long walk on a beautiful Tucson afternoon. We hit a couple shops, picked up a few things and then decided we had better get a bite to eat before purchasing anything that would spoil in the car. There are several places from which to choose in La Encatada. Some friends had recommended Armitage for brunch so that’s where we ended up. For starters… the place is just gorgeous! Super comfortable inside and out. The service was good to great and the food was delicious. I had their Eggs Benedict(shocker). The serve their perfectly poached eggs with Havarti, a tidy lattice of grilled asparagus and Prosciutto all set upon a slice of Asiago toast. I’d say this dish was certainly good enough to rank up w the best in Town! I’d have to say that their home fries were not a favorite of mine… but to each their own. I don’t think they were a low quality item… just not my personal cup of tea. We can’t wait to return for lunch soon!

If you don’t enjoy smelling smoke while you eat this place is not for you. However, they did give us discount because we said something. I would still rather it be a non smoking atmosphere.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times, here’s my understanding and perception of this restaurant. Pros: great happy hour, decent wine list, menu is better than some(they have a cheese plate which I like) and I’m a pretty big fan of their bruschetta options. Cons: the staff is sassy and unwelcoming. When I walk into a new establishment I want to feel warmly welcomed and that the staff is genuinely happy to see me. This waitstaff lacks that. I’m all for friendly banter and a little sarcasm, but let’s wait till we get to know each other before you lay that on me. Please leave your insults at home and your eye rolls elsewhere.

I have a love — hate relationship with this place. The service is extremely inconsistent. Things I love: wine selection, wine flights, when the service is good, the bartender who wears a bow tie, half priced wine flights on Tuesday and late night food and drinks. Things I dislike: Ultra dim lighting that makes it hard to see your wine(I am weird like that though) and most importantly, how terrible the service can be. The level of service always seems to be a group feeling too. Either everyone is fast, friendly and knowledgeable or you are hardly waited on and feel like an inconvenience. Obviously, the good outweighs thr bad, but this place would be a favorite if it kept some consistently in its staff’s performance

After a friend and I worked out we tried to find a place with healthy options to eat dinner. We saw Armitage was one of the only few open late with a full menu. We arrived and were greeted immediately. We decided to sit at the bar and eat. Brendan came to greet us and tell us about the awesome specials for the day(Monday half off entrees till 10!!). My friend and I shared their grilled artichokes and hummus. Amazing!!! The artichokes were cooked perfect and the hummus was awesome. Then we decided to get salads with some proteins. My friend has the Caprese salad with steak. She said it was perfect. And I had the seared ahi salad! Amazing, best salad I have ever had!!! As well Brendan was very helpful and chatted with us too, his bow tie was a nice touch too. Overall amazing and will be coming back, especially for the salad.

1st: I am not a wine drinker(odd, I know). 2nd: I LOVE this place! Spinach Artichoke Dip was delicious, one of the best I have had. I have also tried a cheese board and the warm candied nuts were amazing. I really enjoyed hanging out on the patio and enjoying conversation with my friends.

so cold in here!!! learned that their air conditioning is controlled by the mall, so there is nothing they can do about it. so pack a jacket! love that they have a comfy bar, lovely couches, great outside tables, as well as inside tables to choose from. that really helps to set the mood with whatever party you’re going their with. all the food I’ve tried there has been good and is reasonably priced. their cheese board is decent, but the flatbread pizzas are my favorite. one of those and a salad and I’m really enjoying my dinner with friends while sipping on a wine and enjoying the views!

I really enjoy Armitage every single time I go there. I love their selection of wines by the glass and they have a few flights that are definitely worth trying. They have great wine-bar foods like baked brie and hummus, and if you are looking for a martini, the bartenders usually make them quite well here. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the servers are usually good; they even have specials some nights like wine tasting and ½ price bottles. Armitage is the perfect place to go with friends, lounge around and enjoy some great wine(Order a bottle of the Jam wine).

You can’t beat a place like this to hang out on Sunday nights. It is a great place to unwind your crazy and hectic weekend and socialize with friends. You can enjoy some wine, cheese/meat plate and a nice comfortable lounge sofa as you look out into the beautiful city lights of Tucson, AZ! I’ve been coming here almost regularly on Sunday nights to enjoy their Happy Hour. Which is all bottles of wine are sold to you ½ off! Yes BOTTLES ladies and gentlemen. If you think a bottle is too much for you to handle and you don’t want to be feeling too wild, you can also help yourself to $ 5 glass of wines listed on the happy hour menu, which also do the trick! The servers are pretty friendly and will check on your periodically, even if you are just sitting there socializing. They will even sometimes come by and fill your glass for you, if you ordered a bottle which I normally don’t see in most places. Servers here are pretty informative if you ask about type of wines, cheese, or meat. They are pretty knowledgeable and will even off their recommendation depending on the type of wine you would like, whether it’s Dry, Sweet, etc and most of the time their recommendations do help when it comes to choosing what to try. They’ll even bring out samples for you to try until you find the right one that fits your needs. There is also good quality cheese here, almost every time I’m here I have to have a cheese plate which you can try up to three different cheeses out of a pretty big list of cheese they have to offer. What I find enjoyable is that every cheese, when eaten with a certain type of wine, will bring out hidden flavors to that particular wine. Therefore my thrill and excitement is finding what flavor will this cheese bring out next. Overall I will continue to come here often on Sundays, and recommend this place if you’re looking for a great Sunday night hangout. Who knows, maybe we will run into each other. Until then Unilocal on my friends! P. S. I forgot to mention, they have a live bands perform here. So music, wine, cheese… can you beat that?

I don’t even order a drink anymore when I go here. I ask the bar or wait staff to recommend a wine or drink based on my tastes that particular day. I’ve never been let down. The food is largely bar food but executed well. They also offer a nice happy hour menu to go along with drink specials. Rich’s recommendation: wine or a cocktail.

Paying attention to friends is more important then the rest of the bar. As you can see below, my glass remained empty for about 30 minutes. I’m bored now and waiting for somebody to respond to me so what am I doing? Writing a Unilocal review. Will somebody help me get another glass of wine? On the pro side, Mondays 7 – 10 are half price the entire bill and a great deal if you can get somebody to serve you. As an update, I got my bill and the«Jam Red Wine» is permanently on a special price so they weren’t half off. Confused? Me too! Apparently they used to be $ 12 but are now priced at $ 7 regularly as a special. And half price Mondays only apply to full-price items. Seems like a bait and switch to me. Let’s say 100 people who ordered two glasses of «Red Jam Wine» a month who thought they were half off. Well that’s an extra $ 700 a month or $ 8,400 a year.

Upscale wine lounge/bar located on the Northwest comer of Skyline and Campbell in the la Encantada plaza/mall. Almost every other Sunday you can catch my friends and I winding down the weekend with a glass of wine and jamming out to the live band they have playing that evening. The place has a very modern/homie feel and look, Great place to bring a date for a night cap or meet up with some friends for a nice relaxing evening. Over the pass months of coming here — the service has been nothing but superb. Very friendly wait staff. One of the key things i like about this place is the fact that they have a water boy! Fyi– Hate waiting for water. Monday thur Friday they have happy hour from 4 pm to 7 pm and reverse happy hour at 10 pm to close. Which includes half off all glasses of wine, cocktails and martinis. And a few food items. My favorite bottle to get is a Petit Sirrah, called«The Crusher». A Rich, dark aromas of blackberries, violets, and crushed white pepper invite one into this Clarksburg appellation Petite Sirah. Until next time, KCYE…

Alright… To all of you experienced winos, you intermediate wine tasters and new found wine novices… I found the wine jewel of Tucson! It is a modern venue which borders a romantic feel that is nestled in a corner of the Catalina Shopping Center off of Skyline and Campbell. Parking can be tricky if you visit here during high traffic shopping seasons but it is worth looking for a spot. You walk in and immediately your eyes catch the bar. It is nothing over zealous but the first thing you see is an actual wine barrel perched upon a large shelf overlooking the bar top area. The wine barrel is from a winery I am quite familiar with: Stonestreet from Alexander Valley. It sits in front of a grand walled mirror which elegantly reflects the chandelier light throughout the bar. We sat up at the bar and immediately ran our eyes up and down the list. I recognize almost all the wines that this place has to offer white or red. The only unfortunate thing about the list is that i know that value of these wines and approximately half(or more) were over priced even factoring in the cost from the restaurant. But there was one that I saw that I have had before and noticed it was priced just right: A Petit Syrah. Yum! It of course was a delicious as I remember it to be. The bartenders seemed knowledgeable of what they were doing and had the appropriate demeanor of an upscale bartender. I glanced over the food menu and it looked interested and moderately priced but we had actually already had dinner elsewhere so we refrained from ordering anything off the menu. We enjoyed great conversation in a great atmosphere with a great bottle of wine. This place is definitely a place that I’d visit again and most likely will dive into the culinary side of the experience. So the only reason I give it 3 stars instead of 4 is because of the price vs value and that I have not gotten to fully review the food menu.

Armitage is consistently good. Their happy hour has done great deals on wine and apps, and they have great specials during the week. The wine list is varied, and I can always find something that I’m in the mood for. Personal favorites off the menu include the beet and goat cheese salad, the hummus, and the bruschetta. The bruschetta is a must, you get to pick three types, the ingredients are fresh, and there’s more than enough for sharing.

Well I’m not sure I’m the best judge on this one because we only came for drinks, but I wasn’t all that impressed. All of the servers there seemed very«stuck up», if you will. I guess maybe I should have expected that since it’s a wine bar and since it’s in the Foothills, but it didn’t provide the most welcoming feeling. The two bartenders that night thought they were hotshots too. I wasn’t really amused. My husband is more of a beer drinker than a wine drinker, and that particular day wanted a beer. We were surprised to find out that they didn’t have ANY beers on tap. I figured any type of bar would have at least a few on tap. I was wrong. They did have a variety of bottle beers, but kind of looked at him funny for ordering one. Not everyone digs wine, sorry. I got a glass of cabernet and I was pleased, but the atmosphere was so stuffy that I wasn’t enticed to stay for another. Their prices were more than I expected as well, with not a lot of variety unless you were willing to pay a reasonable amount more. The biggest thing that intrigued me while I was there were all of the couches that you could gather around, especially if you have a larger group. I assume that would make for a more relaxed and laid back experience. Unfortunately all of them were taken when we got there, so we just sat at the bar. Maybe one of these days I’ll give this place another try and maybe order food too, but I can tell you that I won’t go out of my way to do so!

I haven’t actually ate here unless you include the Bloody Mary I had while waiting on my family. It was a scrumptious Bloody Mary, quite the kick of horseradish, good flavors and topped with Salami, Shrimp, Cheese, Olives, Asparagus and Celery. I highly recommend you try one of these! But only one, or you won’t be able to finish your brunch. It was half priced during brunch, but still came in 8 bucks. And I have to say it was worthi t.
