Authentic, fresh Thai. Friendly service. Not too expensive. Come for Thai tea(tastes like a black tea milkshake), authentic decorations, and delicious curry. Great fresh spring rolls. Best thing about this place is the Amazon décor. The tables have glass tops over a bunch of photos that the owners took of Thailand, which is really fun to see! Their culture is portrayed authentically here!

Favorite veggie & tofu yellow curry in Tucson. The service is S-L-O-W as only one woman works the entire restaurant with probably one chef. Lunch time can get tricky bc it does get busy so either go late or be prepared to wait. 2 weeks ago my sister & I waited 40 minutes before we told the waitress to make it to go. I think it was another 20 minutes still:(

My wife and I have been searching for good Thai, and were pleasantly surprised with Bai Thong. The pad thai was delicious, and the wontons were to die for. Takeout was ready promptly, and fresh from the kitchen. We will definitely be back!

UPDATE: My husband hasn’t been able to get back to try more dishes, but I’ve been back for the Panang and am upgrading to four stars because it rocks! Hopefully, when my husband can try more dishes we’ll be able to give them that fifth star.

First of all, if I can give it no stars I would!!! Being that I am a regular now that I’ve discovered the best Pad Thai today I decides to get get something different. I got the Thai Sweet and Sour Chicken. It looked like a soup with sweet and sour sauce. It was in a bowl. I was so confused I thought I was going to get regular sweet and sour chicken with rice. Waitress asked if i wanted something else. I said no I’ll just try it because I have to go back to work(already annoyed.) she gave me a frustrated look, and went back to do her business. I tasted it and it tasted like a plate of seafood with chicken. It had a fishy taste. Not tolerable. So I told waitress that I changed my mind and I do want something else. It tastes like fish soup and I’ll go ahead and get what I normally do. She asked if I wanted a box for the«fish dish» and I said no I’m returning it because I didn’t like it. She replies but you ate it, I tasted it I said because I wanted to just give it it try but it’s taste like fish soup. I talked to the owner and I couldn’t believe how she treated me. I wanted to explain what happen with my order and express how the waitress was accusing me of «eating» most of the food and the owner agreed. Aside that she had an accent and felt like she was y understanding what I was saying she kept saying«you eat all food» I looked at the cashier and said I’m only paying for one dish. I should have just walked out. I payed for nothing really. I went back to work hungry and frustrated. I sat in my car so angry that I could totally throw eggs at their windows. Worst customer service EVER!!! Will never support his local business again!!!

Solid Thai food at a good price. Place was dead and hard to find at night, but don’t be afraid to come in.

Started eating my Penang curry lunch special and had to stop to take a photo and write a review! I ordered the $ 6.95 lunch special– it comes with soup of the day, fried wonton or egg roll, and your choice of about 8 different meals(including pad Thai). Penang curry is my favorite Thai dish so I opted for that with it made spicy with chicken instead of beef and an egg roll. I also got the Thai iced tea. If you’ve never had it I highly recommend ordering, it’s delicious! The soup– I’m not sure what kind– was fresh and hot, served immediately after ordering. It was vegetable based with noodles, peas, mushrooms, and basil. A very good start to the lunch. Soon after finishing the soup, my curry, rice, and egg roll came out. The egg roll was amazing! So much flavor packed into a tiny roll. The curry was also pretty good, although not satisfactory to my spice loving tastebuds. It was very flavorful, however. The peanut sauce gave it a tasty creamy flavor(and I don’t even like peanut sauce). My absolute favorite thing about this place is the adorable photos of the owners’ son under the glass of the tables.

Great authentic taste. I think spiciness level is perfect for Thai. Friendly and clean.

Authentic Thai food made by Thai chef. Family-owned business. I’ve been coming in here for a few times and food is always tasty. Highly recommend their pad thai and pineapple fried rice.

Food was waaaayyy too spicy. I am all for spicy food, but when I ask for medium low spice, I don’t expect to get my mouth burnt off. Other than that, the service was ok, nothing spectacular and the place was clean enough looking… again, nothing spectacular.

I think it’s the best Thai in Tucson. Kang massaman is my favorite. Tom ka gai soup amazing too. Average prices for Thai. Service is some of the nicest I’ve encountered.

I’ve been to Bangkok Café and had their Pad Thai… but Bai Thong’s is by far the better one! We also had their fried rice with sweet basil and that was just as amazing. In addition, we ordered the trout with basil, ginger, and Thai sauce which was super tasteful. As for dessert, I usually order the homemade Thai tea ice cream but they were out so I had to settle for the homemade coconut ice cream. I’m not in love with coconut, but I loved it! Definitely coming back.

The food was good and the prices were excellent. The aesthetics could use a face lift but otherwise it is a great place to grab lunch

This is my favorite Thai place in Tucson so far. Of course, there aren’t many Thai places, but that’s a rant for another time. I come here fairly regularly, a few times each month. As Monica noted, it’s surprising that this place isn’t more packed because it’s really quite good. Now, I’ve never been to Thailand, nor am I Thai so I’m just going on personal preference here. We usually get chicken satay, tom yum soup, and summer rolls as starters. Sometimes, that’s all we get if we’re not very hungry! Curry dishes as consistently good, and I’ve enjoyed most other entrees I’ve tried. I haven’t encountered anything bad, maybe only a dish or two I didn’t love and wouldn’t order again, but never a bad experience. Even the entrees that are not in the vegetarian section can usually have a sub of the meat for tofu. Very friendly staff. The one thing I can say I really don’t like is that sodas are served in cans, because I prefer fountain drinks with unlimited refills. ;-) If your food isn’t spicy enough, be sure to ask for the spice rack so you can kick it up to your own preference.

If you want the best Thai food in Tucson this is it. Don’t even bother going to any«Asian» resteraunt that«cooks thai». I have tried many, many Asian resteraunts in Tucson including a few other Thai restaurants and this place by far is the best. The curry, and soups are amazing. The owners are from Thailand and this is the most authentic Thai food you will find here.

I was craving Thai so bad, and after 15 minutes of Unilocaling around I found Bai Thong. We drive up to the business and to be honest there was only two other patrons and what it looked to be the kid of the owners. My boyfriend and I looked at each other and I said to him«wouldn’t be the first time we had a bad meal». So we got off and the server was very nice although there was a bit of a language barrier. We like to start out with an appetizer and considering the reviews we wanted to play it safe and decided togo for the spring rolls(I mean can you really mess that up?) and they didn’t! It did have tofu which we were a bit skeptical about but it was very well done they paired it with a cucumber dressing and it just went perfect. We then had three dishes: 1) We started with the coconut milk and lime juice soup with mushrooms and chicken, and let me just say it was DELICIOUS! We couldn’t have enough of it. It’s a pretty big portion for two so I definitely think it could feed up to 5 people. 2) Again we didn’t want to mess around so we went for the safe option of a shrimp pad Thai, and again DELICIOUS. 3) Finally we had the curry which was great, but to be honest after that amazing soup the curry didn’t compare but it wasn’t bad at all. Our favorite was definitely the soup. Can’t wait to go back. This place doesn’t get too busy form the looks of it but it has quite a bit of seating Décor could be updated for warmth as its a pretty big place. But other than that FOODWASAMAZING. Oh and obviously I had a Thai tea. My boyfriend who usually opts out because they’re too sweet anywhere else we’ve gone actually ended up ordering one for himself. Score Bai Thong!

ERHHH i hope this really isn’t the best thai in town like reviews claim because if it is i’ll have to skip on thai while i’m in tucson! last minute decision to come here when we first got into Tucson. the place was pretty empty except one other couple not the nicest looking restaurant but sometimes that means more authentic so we were all for it! —pad zee eew: flavor was good but noodles were soggy & way overcooked —kang karee(yellow curry): nothing special. came with white rice that was also overcooked & mushy —panang seafood: seafood wasn’t all that fresh, tasted like frozen seafood, but the flavor of this dish was good i’m sorry i’m not a fan of the food here but the guy working the place was really nice!

Good choice for a Friday night when everything else is crowded because Bai Thong is not/won’t be. This most recent 2-star trip was my second trip to Bai Thong. Obviously I liked it enough the first time to return. The first time I ordered something I’d never had anywhere before. It was a rice dish with halved hard-boiled eggs and other ingredients with a «special sauce.» The special sauce was reddish sweet sauce, not unlike a Chinese duck sauce. That went under my «That was interesting, but I wouldn’t do it again» tab. On this most recent Friday night trip we started the coconut chicken soup(Tom Kha Gai). It had good flavor, small bite-size pieces of tender chicken and fairly large slices of large white/button mushrooms. Not a very flavorful mushroom, but okay. I rarely order Pad Thai these days. I feel like it should be very good to outstanding in any Thai restaurant, a staple like a good apple pie in any place calling itself a pie shop. Whoever was in the kitchen on that Friday night needs a break from cooking or maybe take a refresher course. It was a bad Pad Thai. I ordered the pork Pad Thai. The pork itself was fairly flavorless, but that was just the first thing I tasted. When attempting to mix the pad thai the first thing I noticed was that the noodles were clumped together. I’d never before seen clumped noodles served in pad thai in a restaurant. Beyond that, the seasoning was dull and when I asked for lime, the very nice waiter informed me that lemon was the only option. A squeeze of fresh lemon did improve the flavor, but this was honestly the worst Pad Thai I’ve ever been served in a restaurant. I chose to not send it back. I may order Pad Thai there again. It was so bad, I think it must have been inexperience in the kitchen that night. I can’t believe they always serve such a bad Pad Thai. If it’s bad on the second try, I will just send it back. It’s summer in Tucson. Everyone’s business is slow except maybe Eegee’s. Give Bai Thong a try. Help them get on track and once again be able to afford limes.

I couldn’t quite understand why this place was so barren. Arriving for dinner in the middle of the week, the place is deserted. And by the time we left, only two other seats have been filled. That sort of thing always makes me nervous. But I so enjoyed this little spot! They have about 18 tables and could very easily seat large groups of people. Nothing fancy or flashy. Modest digs, but delicious eats. This seems like the perfect spot for a casual lunch or for a casual dinner with family, friends or your volunteer group. The service is prompt and attentive. We ordered the tofu spring rolls and fried canapés to share. I went with the duck Curry and my friend ordered a beef and mushroom entrée. Prices are very reasonable. Most of the entrées fell somewhere between $ 7 and $ 9. Portions were hefty. We had enough for leftovers. I absolutely loved my duck curry. And I thoroughly enjoyed my friends entrée as well. Both had such deep and smooth flavors — a perfect marriage of spices and heat.

I went there this evening to scope the place out before I take a dear out of state friend who wants Thai for lunch. The verdict? I’ll be taking him there tomorrow. This is located in a strip mall on Speedway, but you forget that as soon as you step in the door as it feels comfortable in there. We were greeted by the young wife, who owns the restaurant and were seated. This being a Wednesday, and early in the evening(5:30 p.m.) there was only one couple and only two other parties came in while we were there. Two or three came in for pickup. So slow night. I ordered the Panang Curry and my wife and daughter ordered the Thai Curry. We also shared a plate of thin bean noodles and a chicken Satay appetizer. All was excellent! Panang Curry is a red peanut sauce curry with basil leaves(yum!), bell pepper, and meat. I had beef. Thai Curry is green curry with basil leaves(yum!), bell pepper, and bamboo shoots. Could have had just a li-i-i-ittle more bell pepper, and bamboo slices instead of shreds. But that’s a minor point and will not detract from your enjoyment. We all enjoyed our tasty curry on top of our tasty rice. The bean noodles were really good. They put tomatoes, onions, scrambled eggs, and I want to say napa cabbage. The Satay was good, too, and came with four generous sizes of skewered chicken. Oh, speaking of generous portions, each serving of curry can easily feed two and still have some leftovers for lunch the next day for some lucky person. So if you’re wanting to save money, split one order of curry and it only cost around $ 10 for the both of you. Service was super. She was very pleasant and friendly. She kept our waters filled and seemed to have an eye out for us. They accommodated my wife when she originally ordered her curry mild because she had an irritated sore throat. Her curry was still a bit too spicy and they gladly took it back to add more coconut milk in. For me, though, I’m going to order it a bit more spicy next time. The great part about going back the next day is trying something else out like the deep fried bananas or the sweet sticky rice with custard or mango. I was too full tonight to order dessert. I will tomorrow!
