Great BBQ, and very friendly owners. Stopped here while driving to Texas from Vegas. Tried baby back ribs, the meat was so succulent you didn’t even need to cut the slab to brake off ribs.

This is quite possibly, the most important review I have ever written on Unilocal.I am beginning to understand why Unilocal is so important to the community, local business owners and foodies like me. I stumbled here after checking their reviews on Unilocal.I was on my way back to Phoenix, I was hungry and I wanted something quick and good. This met all the needs according to other Unilocalers. This place IS amazing. The food is outstanding… most important part of it all… the people that run this place CARE and take PRIDE in their trade. I came in ten minutes before they closed for lunch. I didn’t realize they closed for lunch, if I knew, I wouldn’t have come in. As a former restaurant employee, I know how frustrating it is for stragglers to come in 10 minutes before you’re about to leave. They were more than happy to serve me. I glimpsed the menu and just asked them, «What’s good.» Without hesitating, they suggested the special which was a BBQ Prime Rib sandwich. No need to convince me, sounded great. Smoked all day prime rib on a bun! Yes please! As I waited for the food I struck up a conversation with the owner. What a nice man. He was informative about how I can perfect my BBQ and we got into detail on how BBQ is more than food but an art. As my food came to me, he stood there and insisted that I try it before I slab BBQ sauce on it. He intently watched the pleasure that took over my face as I tried it. It was tender, moist and magical. I didn’t have to say anything, he knew it. Another satisfied customer. The homemade sides were out of this world. I am not one for sides, I’m a meat man. I was licking the ramekins after all my food was gone. I ended up staying probably a good 30 minutes after my meal was over shooting the shit with the family that runs the place. For a moment, I forgot I was at a business. I could have sworn I was at a distant family members house just hanging out. PLEASEKEEPINMIND, THISWASMYFIRSTVISIT. The bottom line, they could have said they were closed when I walked in the door. They could have kicked me out the second I finished my meal. No, they made me feel like a regular. They made me feel like there is still some good in this society and some fellowship between strangers. If you’re ever in Tucson, or better yet, live in Tucson… GOSUPPORTTHISJOINT. This restaurant is the reason why family owned and operated is far superior than a chain. I don’t care if they«accidentally» served me fecal matter on a plate(maybe I do care) I would still give this place 5 stars because the heart and the dedication towards their trade lives here. I have never seen some much love and passion go into a small family owned and operated company(besides my own company). I would let them stay at my house if they were planning on opening another place in Phoenix.
