Love this place. Their burgers are outstanding! Their staff is friendly and the food is consistently delicious.

We went here last Saturday. I had the Bourbon Pecan Salmon. It was unimpressive but the presentation was nice. The service was a little slow. The waiter took some time to check on us. He was pleasant. We ate out in their covered patio. It was very comfortable and inviting. I would go back to give them another chance. I believe this was just an off night.

I seldom give this many stars to a restaurant because there’s always room for improvement right? Stopped here today for lunch and ordered spaghetti and meatballs which were top notch, better than what you find in foothills upscale Italian places. Wife had a hot roast beef sandwich which must have had 1 lb of tender thinly sliced roast beef on toasted brioche. Wine selection was great and service from Sean the bartender was exquisite. We’ll be back! Recommend you stop by.

A bit indifferent on this restaurant. My wife wanted to try it and it was nothing spectacular. Came in at 6pm on a Tuesday and it was pretty empty. Those who were there were mostly seniors(not they there’s anything wrong with that). This place is definitely not catering to the younger generations. It was a bit confusing because the name«Bistro 44,» sounds a bit hipper than this place actually is. The food was good, but overpriced; I had the steak diane and it tasted like pot roast, but good pot roast. My wife enjoyed the bourbon pecan salmon. Long story short — good food, a bit overpriced, and the ambiance seems geared to the older generations. We probably will not be back.

Bistro 44 wasn’t crowded or noisy and according to mom never is. I like what they have done to this place but I can’t say that it’s great. The look and feel are OK. The patio is nice. The bar has Tv’s on but it felt like I was gonna get yelled at by my lawyer dad. The staff was friendly. The tap beer selection was poor. The prices on all of the wines were really high. The food was alright. It was decent although the portions seemed small and the cost was high. The Dude of Food might consider his options.

I’ve eaten lunch at Bistro 44 many times and it’s been good every time. I particularly love the Mediterranean Salad with grilled chicken. The salad dressing is excellent. Coffee is always good.

Have been here a couple of times for lunch. Burgers are well prepared and a great deal with ½ burgers on sat and sunday. the patio is nice and relaxing. Food was a bit slow to come out both times but worth the wait in my opinion. Ive noticed reviews about the average age of the clientele here. Im not sure what that has to do with anything, but did notice other tables also seemed to be enjoying their experience. In my book thats what counts!

Like some other Unilocalers, this was our first and last visit to the restaurant for many reasons. If you see the restaurant and think, «Oh, Bistro 44, a steakhouse! Maybe we should try it out,» don’t do it. Don’t waste your money here, spend it somewhere else. The menu is limited and boring. The food is very overpriced and not worth spending the money on based on the quality of food. We ordered the ribeye steak and let’s just say if McDonalds made ribeye steak it’d be better. This piece of meat they served us was very fatty and stringy. The vegetables were mushy, without flavor, and looked like they just came out of the freezer. The waitress was rude and inattentive, and argued with us at the end when we questioned the final price. The clientele is older, and the atmosphere is not too welcoming to younger generations. We were overcharged on the food(we were told the food we ordered was a special for the night, when in fact our waitress argued with us that we heard her wrong and tried charging us the full price, we had to call a manager to resolve the conflict). Overall bad experience for many different reasons, we will not be back and we will not recommend this to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere else.

When you go make sure it’s on a Sunday. That way you can get the ½ price burgers. They are worth the full price and so much sweeter at ½ price. Enjoy the peace by sitting outside on the patio. The clientele is a little older. But that’s because they know a deal when they see it!

LOVE their food! I ordered their Mediterranean salad and it was fresh, crisp, and NOT swimming in sauce. My only complaint is that the tables are REALLY close together.

My first(and last) visit to Bistro 44 was disappointing on several levels, so I’ll try to keep this short. I arrived for lunch, craving a really good salad, after a friend suggested that I try a steakhouse if I wanted a premium salad. As an added bonus, I discovered when I checked in on Unilocal that they have a $ 2 off check-in deal. So far, so good. The Southwestern Chicken salad arrived quickly and looked beautiful, with sectors of chicken, cheese, salsa; rimmed with great tortilla chips; topped with avocado and a drizzle of sour cream; with a ring of red onions at the center. Beneath this beautiful arrangement, however, the salad was absolutely swimming in a dressing that I couldn’t taste at all. The one, single, overpowering flavor in the salad was that red onion. The salad was so overdressed that I ate less than half of it. The one good thing I’ll say about it is that the chicken was grilled fresh, unlike some nearby restaurants I’ve tried. The service was also quite poor, for a restaurant with only a few seated tables and plenty of staff on hand. At no point did the waitress return to ask how my food was(I would have sent it back for being so overdressed), or to refill my empty water glass. She didn’t ask if I wanted more water until ten minutes after I finished eating and pushed the salad bowl away, when she came to clear it from the table. The salad certainly wasn’t worth the $ 11.75 menu price, and it also wasn’t worth the $ 2-off price I received with the Unilocal check-in. And as I review the menu listing, I also notice it didn’t come as-described. This experience wasn’t even enough to put Bistro 44 on my «Almost-Almost» list. I won’t be back.

Bistro 44. Was VERYTASTEY … The food was fresh and had a real great flavor. Half off burgers on Sunday with a drink purchase can’t beat that ! Just needs a décor update.

We’ve driven past bistro44 plenty of times, and in the search for an east side restaurant we decided(based on reviews) to stop in on a Sunday evening. We most definitely should have read those reviews a little more thoroughly. The ambiance was something out of a graduated furr’s cafeteria, with 60+ women complaining loudly in the quiet and awkward dining area about the lack of sorbet. The building has so much potential, why on earth would anyone paint muted khaki tones over such beautiful brick paired with the retro popcorn ceilings? Although we had high hopes, the«calamari» resembles mozzarella sticks found in a frozen food section at fry’s. Any creature dawning more than four legs should be celebrated, especially when in the menu is described as «panko fried». Or salads on the other hand, were overpriced, yet fulfilling and delicious! Service was prompt and personable, but we were quite bummed as we were leaving to see a sign informing us that it was indeed steak night(whatever that means). Overall, the experience was luke warm. We may return again if we’re hungry enough and craving a not-so-busy environment.

We went here on a Sat. night after several other nearby faves were already up to hour waits. With a 19 month old that’s not happening. We drove by this place several times before but just didn’t think to try it. It was pretty quiet(on a Sat. night?). The patrons were almost all over 70+. We felt really out of place with our toddler but the staff were friendly and got the job done. The food was good not great. A solid B but overpriced for what it was. We had the spinach artichoke dip. MMy wife had the Mediterranean chicken pasta and I had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. Yummy and prepared well but like I said a solid B. I guess I’m lowballing my score somewhat because this place is kind of a paradox and you can see the potential but just not there now. In the same place where we felt totally out of place with a toddler and felt kinda bad for invading the senior citizens wine and cheese watering hole unknowingly, the kids menu was Awesome. Our daughter got a 5 oz steak cooked very well for just $ 5. She inhaled every bite. How is it that the best thing they do and the best value they have is on the children’s menu and like I said average age is over 70? We would go back again, but feel like with a little better management and marketing this«B» could be something better than it is. Worth a check though.

What’s up with this restaurant? Why is it so empty? Why is its clientele so old? Food and service are good, but our friends, who eat here often, say that’s it’s always like this. We found the waiter attentive and friendly. Water glasses were refilled promptly; empty plates were removed in a timely, if slightly obtrusive fashion. We started with a bottle of wine and some beer, and then ordered the baked brie to share. The brie, while plated somewhat indifferently, was delicious. It was attended by a bunch of red grapes, along with some dried fruit(figs and apricots, I think?) along with a single, lonely strawberry, 2 pieces of toast, and a stack of crackers. The plate was drowning in a fruity liquid. Two of our party ordered the porterhouse steak, which was a special that night. The steak was delicious, but it was slightly overcooked. My husband’s steak was slightly thinner than my friend’s, and was more medium than medium-rare. I chose the lamb shank, which was so tender that it basically fell from the bone and could be cut with the edge of the fork. It was quite good. These dishes also come with some mashed potatoes, which were good, but not spectacular, and some steamed baby carrots and broccoli, which seemed like a bit of an afterthought. They could have used less cooking and more seasoning. The potatoes also needed seasoning. For dessert we all split the brownie plate, which came with 2 good sized, warm, gooey, chocolatey brownies, a scoop of melting vanilla ice cream, a mass of whipped cream, and another lone strawberry. It was good, but not anything out of the ordinary. It’s a bit expensive but it’s a nice place to have a nice meal. I think this restaurant could really benefit from a bit more attention to detail.

The French onion soup was tasty. I liked the presentation where it wasn’t bread at the bottom but rather at the top covered with cheese on top. It was tasty! I wish I had gotten a bowl rather than just a cup. VERY tasty. The spinach salad wasn’t up to par that I expected. It was soggy and the mushrooms didn’t add any dimension. They could add some nuts for a texture balance. It was also a bit on the small side for price. My friends both ordered the halibut fish dish. It smelled so citrusy and amazing. They were very attentive to garlic allergy one had. I was impressed by their care and service. I’ll try a full entrée next time and not miss out on the goodness!

I was sick for 2 weeks and afterwards, I was CRAVING a good burger. After reading a few reviews, I decided to check out their Sunday ½ price burger. My first burger and fries were COLD. I sent them back and they returned with piping hot fries and burger. It was okay, but nothing to write home about. I can’t imagine that I will return. **The deal requires the purchase of a beverage**

I can’t tell you how many times I have driven past this place, saw the sign for ½ price burger($ 6 plus $.75 for cheese) Sunday and said to myself, «Mmmm., burgers.’ My wife finally got tired my my yapping about it and caved in. Off we went… This visit was a far cry from our last visit. We sat in the bar again, which was not too busy this time. The bartender/server brought us menus, which we really didn’t need because we knew we were getting burgers. She asks what we want to drink. My wife orders a glass of house Merlot, but I have to ruminate on my drink choice since their tap beer«selection» is less than appealing I end up with a glass of house Cabernet. That should tell you everything you need to know about their three tap beers. We order our burgers. We drink our wine and wait for our burgers. The servers stops by and lets us know that the burger comes with aioli on it(actually she told us when we ordered) and asks us what other condiments we would like. We can get ranch(or chipotle ranch) for our fries, extra aioli, dijon or yellow mustard… whatever condiments our hearts desire. She offers just to bring all she mentioned plus ketchup. I feared we would be charged for this buffet of condiments. We were not. The burgers arrive. Wine is OKBB(before burger), but i need a beer with my burger, so I break down and order a Stella. At least it was cold and served in a chilled glass. Back to the burger… accompanied by prior mentioned condiment bar as well as butter lettuce, tomato, red onion and a pickle spear, the properly cooked, well seasoned, angus beef burger was one of the better burgers I have had… and I am picky about burgers. The shoestring fries were crispy and the condiment-o-rama to dip them in provided great variety. Our server was super friendly. I asked her if this ½ price burger Sunday special is here to stay. She said she is not sure if it’s just for the summer. I say, if you are a burger fan, don’t take a chance. Get down there while it’s still summer.
