Cheba Hut sandwiches are always delicious. I always try to try a different item off the menu, but I still find myself getting the same thing I did the previous time every now and then. Service is great and the dining atmosphere is nice too. I have yet to find something I did not like on the menu. I would highly recommend eating here.

The inconsistency of this establishment is AMAZING! Third review I’ve written, and very different from the previous two. I wanna love this place so much, and I do think the food is great! Except for the fact that they’re always missing the details. Over 3 times they’ve forgot a drink or chips of mine with a delivery order and for the second time they’ve forgotten an item on their sandwich. I asked them which sandwiches had pineapple on them and they said the Thai Stick did, so I ordered that. I got my sandwich to go and when I unwrapped it at home, guess what? Yeah, no pineapples. They also forgot the bell peppers and the cheese. I’m sorry, but with how inconsistent they are, I would rather go to Jimmy Johns where it’s a ¼ of the wait, and always exactly what I ordered. Edit: I found the pineapple! One piece buried in the bread.

This place wins every time! Even if a different person makes your sandwich! I was super bummed when they closed for a awhile a couple years back, but alas, they are back with a vengeance! There food is fire! The spicy sauce they use is amazing! I get the Jamaican red, it has fresh jalapeños which add just the right amount of heat. My friend always gets a red widow, which is the white widow slathered in the sauce from the Jamaican red! Great combo! Now that this place has beer on tap it’s a match made in heaven, they pour a couple local goodies from Dragoon to Barrio. Some might not dig the idea of a marijuana themed joint(pun intended), however I say get over it, and if it bothers, get over yourself! Otherwise get the blunt it’s 12″ and makes all the other sandwich shops seem lame!

It is with great disappointment that I gave this 1 star review. After doing business with them for many years suddenly they have decided they are no longer delivering to my address even though I received a delivery less than a month ago. Guess I will have to find another sandwich shop that would prefer my business.

I love Cheba Hut’s sandwiches. I’m not usually a fan of deli sandwiches but seriously these guys are great. Service can be a little slow, and we usually wait a while for food, but that’s not too big an issue. The drink choice is pretty unique, with choices like Kool Aid and Tang, very nostalgic(don’t expect any coke products here). I always get the Kind(turkey, bacon) with honey mustard and mushrooms on their awesome herb and cheese bread. It is SO good. The staff is super friendly and chill, and while the restaurant is pretty cramped inside, there is outdoor seating that is great when the weather is nice enough. Overall, great little place if you want yummy sammiches and a laid back atmosphere.

An hour and 20 minutes after receiving my order the sandwich had very little meat and the a jus for the French dip sandwich was awful. Like eating straight beef broth that had been reduced and a few cups of salt added. In edible. Really disappointed. I was invited back for A second chance. 1000% better. Thank you. The Cuban Sandwiches were fantastic.

Yum! Just thinking about the La Canna, Dank or broccoli cheddar soup makes my mouth water! Great food, great service, great prices. I usually order a blunt(12″) so I can eat half now and the rest for dinner. The leftovers heat up nicely at 350 degrees for 15 – 18 min.

I was driving by and saw«Cheba Hut Toasted Subs». Just what I was craving. You’ll notice when you walk in that the toasted subs almost kind of seems like a subliminal message with sandwich sizes such as «nug» and«blunt». Also, the sides are labeled«munchies» and drinks are«cotton mouth cures». I love all the posters and things on the walls pertaining to «the ganja». I also love the menu choices because they aren’t what you’d see at any ordinary sandwich shop. I chose the Pakalolo. It consists of ham, swiss, and pineapple and then whatever veggies you want to add. It was excellent.

The sandwiches here are sooooooo good. I’m not even exaggerating. I love that it’s close to campus and it’s not ever too busy.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely love this place. Try the white widow, but add banana peppers, hubby mustard, and barbecue. The sour D, my favorite, is not on the menu anymore but that’s how I try and make the sandwich the same. It’s so yummy, warm, and everyone is generally pretty nice.

Typically I love this place. I called today to place a take out order and I was told by Eric(who answered the phone) that they’re really busy and I need to call back later, maybe in ten minutes because nobody can take my order. Who says that?! He was extremely rude and if they keep him, they’re guaranteed to lose more business. They also need to update their Unilocal page because they didn’t have two of the sandwiches I wanted. Eric also kept asking for me to repeat myself when I could barely hear him. They should have stayed closed!

As a college student, I love this food. I was bummed when they closed but now I’m thinking they should have stayed closed. A group of us ordered and that as a disaster from start to finish. Eric was SO rude on the phone. I understand if you’re busy but NEVER ask a customer to call back. I’m patient and don’t mind being put on hold. Then they were out of several of the sandwiches we wanted to order. Please please PLEASE update your menu so we aren’t frustrated by having to take up more time re-reading the menu. When I picked up the food, there was no one in the restaurant. Seriously. I was the only person there. The sandwiches were edible but the poor service ruined the flavor. I’m so bummed about this experience because it gave me hope that the old Cheba Hut was back. With the terrible customer service and my few favorites being taken off the menu, I won’t be returning.

I had the sticky icky which is the pb and j with strawberry jelly. It was amazingly toasted and definitely sticky! My fiancé had the Kali mist and she said it was pretty dang good! Considering she is a sandwich junkie! The atmosphere was definitely laid back and the music made you comfortable enough to stay a while and chat. The kool aid fountain was definitely awesome! I will definitely be back!

Used to like this place before it closed. Since it has reopened I’ve had bad experiences. Last time I ordered a Midwest Best and got bread with ham and bacon. That was all. No lettuce, tomato, pickle, dressing, or anything else. I don’t plan on going back anytime soon.

Not a bad place to get a toasted sub. I heard they recently got shut down for health concerns but since they have reopened I’ve eaten there several times and found my experience fairly pleasant. The top shelf subs are very delicious and its health issues seemed to have been resolved.

I thought I ordered the grinder style sub but ordered the Blunt by mistake. It is a pizza plus Genoa salami and marinara in some excellent toasted submarine bread. I was not disappointed. It really did taste like a pizza in good bread instead of crust. Service was as fast as I could have made that sandwich if not faster. And the gal was friendly. Price was agreeable for a 8″ sub and I’ll be back with my wife to try the La Canna which was my goal today but I see several others that I need to try so this might take several trips!

Buckle up because this is going to be one of the most negative reviews ever. I’ve been coming here since I was young, used to be a great place. They shut down and reopened and I tried it for the first time last night. I wish I could give negative stars to take away from their 4 star rating(which is bs, they have their employees review). We order two sandwiches(white widow and Cali Mist). The whole business model of «we put love into our sandwiches so they might take longer» is cool but this is an example of poor management and lazy employees. I, no joke, waited 20 minutes to get my greasy sandwich. They had two of the most incompetent people making the sandwiches while 9(I counted) stood around dancing and talking about plans. No one got their food in any kind of timely fashion. To the owner: Please take a good hard look at your management because they obviously don’t want to generate return business. You should fire your entire staff, hire competent people who understand that people don’t wait 20 minutes for mediocre sandwiches. I wouldn’t have written this because whatever, but the guy wrapping sandwiches(dark curly long hard, kind of fat) was talking crap to me while I was quietly remarking to myself how long it was taking. He felt that it was okay to say«relax, there’s a first time for everything,» I would’ve talked to his manager but my lady literally begged me not to. Food:Mediocre. Service: Absolute garbage. I literally could’ve killed a chicken, prepared it, sliced it and made my own sandwich in the time these MORONS took to make my sandwich. Now I’m not a jerk and I’ve worked in food service. If you’re busy that’s one thing but there was two idiots who obviously didn’t know how to make the sandwiches making the sandwiches(a purpleish haired girl and an even fatter guy with a beard). No one was helping them fill these orders they were just standing around. WHY??? You ruined my night and I will NEVERBEBACK. Take your business up the street to PJS Subs, far superior in every way. Their sandwiches taste better, their service is better and they serve beer. That is all I’m just ranting at this point #shutdownchebahut

I’m going to be honest. My son Eli works here. I came to support him and try the food. He suggested the Apollo and it was so good. A Greek style toasted sub and was perfection and not just because he made it for me. Honestly the best sub I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back for the Kush and the pizza type sub looked so damn good.

Pretty busy location due to its close proximity to the University. The outside seating area is pretty nice as they can get pretty congested inside. The service was pretty friendly, and there was some guy painting a mural on the wall. I always get the Griefo, which is a vegetarian sandwich composed of their veggies, and hemp cheese. Omg the hemp cheese is amazing, especially when they slather it on thick. I also recommend the Trix Krispie treat!

I have been a fan of this place for a very long time. Most people come here at first because of the unique environment but once you have tried their food you will for sure come back for more! The sandwiches are amazing(be prepared to wait a bit because they make everything with care), the staff is very helpful and I love that they have all my favorite flavors of kool-aid(that’s right kool-aid!!). I have a hard time with prices though. You definitely get what you pay for in life but I am a cheapy and this can get expensive.
