This restaurant is great! Our waiter was really nice and friendly. He even went above and beyond to make sure my one year old son’s first trip to a restaurant was a very pleasant experience. I will definitely come here again!

We had 6 people in our party for dinner here this evening. Our waitress was nice, knowledgeable & not overbearing/chit chatty(which we prefer). Our meal was paced perfectly … drinks, appetizers, salads & main course(we were too full for dessert). All our food was cooked properly & was very, very good. The restaurant & restrooms were clean. We will certainly dine again @ this Claim Jumper.

My wife and I went in last night with my daughter and her husband. We were seated by a very friendly young lady that was great at her job. After sitting for quite a while a young waiter came over to take our drink and appetizer order. I grew a moustache while waiting for him to return. After a long time he finally returned with our iced tea and soda. We were told he’d be right back. I don’t believe that word means what he thought it meant. After a long time he returned to take our order — minus the appetizers. Now, for another long wait. Drinks were long-since empty and no sign of waiter. We finally complained to one of the people. The young man finally returned, apologized and said it was because he was«in the middle of a Irish coffee situation» and our food would be right out. Again, I don’t believe that phrase means what he thought it did. The mgr. came over and asked how we were doing. We told her and she said she couldn’t find our waiter. He finally appeared and we told him we needed our drinks refilled. He apologized and said our food would be right out. I asked if it would be in our lifetime. Food finally arrived. My wife’s mashed potatoes were cold. She said her tri-tip was ok. My burger that was supposed to be well done was well done in some places and medium in others. I didn’t eat it. We told the waiter about the mashed potatoes. He brought some more out that were hot. The manager made no offer to discount the bill for the horrible service and lack-luster food. To put the cap on it, within 3 hours of us leaving the restaurant my wife was vomiting and had an intestinal track that was pretty much trashed. Overpriced and underserviced. Oh, I forgot, the entire restaurant smelled like a sewer when we walked in. The manager said it was because the cold weather outside was bringing the sewer smell inside. It smelled like a very strong gas leak. What an alluring fragrance!

So, we figured we’d need a few drinks to get us through the Hunger Games’ latest/final installment(turns out three drinks wasn’t enough, but that’s another story) and landed here prior to the El Con film. I never really find myself in chains like this so was expecting worse– I will say I was impressed by the build out inside. That said, the drinks were terrible and the service was glacial. Watery, flavorless mixed drinks. Everything leaning toward too sweet. And an absentee waiter. He seemed to a actually treat us better than the middle aged ladies the next table over, who heard us mock the drinks and proceeded to commiserate about their bad service. If I ever happen to come here again, I’ll stick to beer in the hopes that it’s harder to mess up.

OVERPRICEDSUBPAR chain restaurant food. Lunch prices are too high and there is no happy hour my beer was almost $ 6. My order was messed up, I ordered the tri-tip not tenderloin, when they finally brought my tri-tip out it was beyond rare which I ordered medium. My mom’s soup was $ 7 in a small bowl. Go to Olive Garden(endless soup salad pasta) or BJ’s great lunch and happy hour prices($ 3.50 for their own housemade beer) and food is so much tastier at BJ’S. Will never eat at Claim Jumper again.

A great big sign outside says«Happy hour, prices starting at $ 2». The only thing that’s $ 2 is an order of chips. The next cheapest thing is a $ 4 Bud Light draft. Gimme a break.

They were very crowded. They handled the situation well. I had the Salmon dinner. It was rather good. My wife had the meatloaf. I like a more Southern style meatloaf. The carrot cake, their speciality, is the worst one that I’ve had in Tucson. The coffee was good. All-in-all, it was a pleasant experience. In fact, it was one of the best times we’ve had there in recent months.

Stay away from the Tucson location. The service is horrible, the food is served in stages. The manager would not come out to talk to us. Thank you for ruining my son’s bday. Had my Grandson screaming cause he was hungry. Waited for over 25 min to get some soup. No main meal tho. Finally left.

All in all a satisfactory dining experience. I had the widow maker burger with fries. The burger was pretty standard American fare. But the fries were the main attraction! Much to my surprise. Thinly sliced and refreshingly crispy these shoestring fries go well on their own. I however chose to spice them up with salt and pepper and dipped them in a side of ranch dressing which the server very happily provided. A bit pricey. But I would go there again for another informal family gathering.

We arrived at a time where it wasn’t busy. It took a minute to be seated because no one wanted to come and help us to a table at first even though three workers saw us standing there and went back to what they were doing. But we sat down and ordered strawberry lemonades that were 3.99 each. A little over priced for my blood but whatever. We ordered the lemon pepper zucchini fries(don’t quote me on the name). Those were actually delicious and I would definitely recommend them. I ordered the rotisserie chicken and tri tip with clam chowder and fried mac and cheese. The entrée was pretty good but not amazing. The peppercorn sauce was a bit overwhelming on the tri tip. The fried Mac and cheese was missing the cheese. I’m not sure why I am having horrible luck with Mac and cheese lately but imma need it to stop. Over all it was a decent meal. For two drinks, appetizer and 2 entrees cost me about $ 73. Let’s just sum it up as a nice night out.

Overpriced Chili’s type restaurant. Nothing special. Plenty of menu items but who cares when they all taste like generic casual dining restaurant food? I’ve had the meatloaf and bbq chicken pizza. Average on both. Service has been good both times I’ve been here — once lunch and once dinner. I received a UA student discount each time, which helps with the overpriced items a bit. Not good enough to recommend but not bad enough to not go again if I can’t think of anything better. Two stars because it’s just a tad pricey for what it is.

Unfortunately this review isn’t about the food quality because we never got to eat anything! The hostess sat us quickly, but we waited 20 minutes and nothing happened. No water, no waitstaff interactions. I made eye contact with several waiters and even waved one over, but nothing. We returned to the hostess’s table and returned our menus saying we were done waiting and she seemed pretty bothered saying she will get the manager, but at that point we weren’t interested in being there any longer. Bless the In’ n Out right next door because we were in and out of there in less time than we waited at Claim Jumper.

Since the wait at Cheddars was so long, we decided to go back to Claim Jumpers. There was no wait if we wished to sit on the patio. It was a warm evening but there were misters, we wished. It was comfortable. The service was friendly but incredibly slow. We waited a long time just for water. It’s hot people. Bring the water. My hubs ordered country fried steak and I ordered portobello pasta. Our sides took so long to come out that just as I was taking my second bite of soup, the entrée arrived. The country fried steak was gristly and pretty tough but it tasted good. The pasta was. meh…it was ok. Nothing to scream about. I don’t think I will race back with so many great places to eat in Tucson.

When Claim Jumper first opened the food was amazing and the service was great. We use to go several time a year as a special night out. Now the food is just OK and service has gone down hill. After our last couple of visits, I do not think we will be going back.

Way downhill. Atmosphere is interesting, basically a big lodge. Service was poor, or easier couldn’t multi-task at all. It took us an hour and a half for dinner with no wait for a table. Food was mediocre and overpriced. You can get better food elsewhere pretty easily. First time here in 4 years and won’t be back anytime soon.

We came here for my grandmothers bday. At the young age of 84 years old she said it was one of her best. The food and service were great. The staff were able to accommodate for a table of 18. Thank you.

It was not unexpected to have a wait on a busy Saturday night. It took 50 minutes to get a table for the 3 of us. We had a coupon which was not honored or even understood by the wait staff. We had no silverware even after asking(well, she did bring us 2 of the needed 3 sets after our appetizers were eaten, and eventually a third set). No side salad was brought until we reminded the waitress. Then the wrong side salad was brought. We had to have that corrected. My salad came with the dressing on it even after requesting it on the side(did she even write our order down?!?). Had to send it back. The others’ entrée is nearly eaten by the time a new salad arrived. She also brought and charged us for an extra side dish we did not order. Goodness me. I get tired of reminding, correcting, and flagging down the waitress. She was nice and apologized, but after several mistakes, you just want it right. The food was tasty, but the rest of the experience just wasn’t good.

I had never been to a Claim Jumper before and I will never be going again. I had the Chinese Chicken Salad and as decent as that was, it still does not tempt me to return. The service was slow and the waitress appeared to not know how to serve a group of 10. Water glasses were left empty, begging for a refill. Dessert menu was passed around and then she only took the orders from half of the table. When called back to the other end of the table, she ignored us and never came back until she had the checks. Even the checks were screwed up and it took three to four re-dos to get all of the checks correct. TL;DR: Decent salad, wait staff unable to perform adequately.

Went for a light lunch I had chicken tortilla soup and a salad pretty basic nothing to write home about. I also had a blackberry hurricane which was absolutely amazing. Our Waitess brought UA back someone else’s card but other than that no complaints

We came here for the parents wedding anniversary, so the whole immediate family took up a huge table(which was reserved ahead of time). We started with drinks, fried zucchini, onion rings, and the Southwest Egg rolls. The fried zucchini was my personal favorite– they were fresh and delicious. I ate way too many. The server did a great job with such a big and demanding table. Kept our drinks filled, food was served at the right temperature and looked very pleasing. I had the vegetarian pizza which I really loved. My only complaint is I asked for no olives and added jalapeños– which I guess they didn’t have, but the olives were still added. No big deal, as we were a pretty huge table. He kept my coffee filled and I sampled everyone’s dessert which were all so scrumptious. My only regret, I didn’t photograph the chocolate cake which was by far my favorite. Overall this is a great restaurant for family dinners or other large gatherings. I’ve been a couple times to this location and I have nothing negative to relate. It’s always been a nice experience.
