We’ve had a lot of Sonoran dogs in our days. Many of them in Sonora itself as half of our family resides there. These are by far the best ones in the city. Forget Guero Canelo, BKs, and all the rest; these are the best there is! Are they the most traditional? No, they make slight modifications such as toasting the bread in butter and giving you a free, lime and salt pickled chile guero with your hot dog. I call that a pretty good upgrade!

Wasn’t the best Sonoran dog I’ve had. Wasn’t as crispy as I’dve liked. Just sort of average, really.

Excellent Hot Dog at a great price. They are crunchy and snap when you bite into them and always served hot off the grill

These dogs are delicious! The bread is chewy and toasted on one side. It’s stuffed with flavorful things like a grilled bacon wrapped hot dog, caramelized onion, diced tomato, beans, relish and painted with just a touch of mayo. The horchata was cool and refreshing and the perfect accompaniment. For $ 2.50 a dog and $ 1.50 for a cup of horchata, not sure you can get a tastier meal for the price. I highly recommend trying their dogs!

Look no further, best dogs in town are here and believe I’ve tried many many many of the competitors. There’s a place up north that buns are too soft. I hate that. Here they know to crisp the buns to perfection. Enjoy!

Nice hot dogs and cold drinks at a good price. I’m a big fan of street food and we don’t have many options in this part of town. My dog loves them too. He once slipped his harness when I failed to stop for a snack at this stand. Found him sitting in front of the hot dog seller waiting for his weiner.

We just finished our 5th annual July 4th party using Egla and Berto to cater. This year we had close to 100 people and once again the hot dog cart did not disappoint! Their Sonoran dogs are by far the best I’ve ever had in Tucson and for that matter anywhere! We also provided chicken and beef tacos that were equally as good. Each and every year they provide great food and amazing service and our guests always leave and the one thing they talk about weeks later was the food! If you want the best Sonoran dogs in town, these are your guys!

I went on a mission to find a Sonoran Hot dog after eating one at the Fair and liking it. I had passed by this Hot Dog cart many times on my way home but I never stopped until today. The Hot Dog Was great! I loved the toasted bun and how it had a mixture of grilled and raw onions. My advice is if you are thinking about trying this place you really should.

I’m not usually a fan of hot dogs, and when I do eat them they’re always Hebrew Nat’s — Up until now that it is. Had my first Sinaloense dog the other night and it was The Bomb. The menu was a little confusing so I just let the guys make it up for me. I got 2 with everything for $ 5 and they were worth every cent. Bun was fresh and then grilled. Dog was hot and tasty. I’m glad I waited to get home to eat them instead of trying to eat them while driving as there were a lot of toppings on them that I wouldn’t wanted to have worn instead of eaten. Fast, fresh, friendly, reasonably priced = 5 stars in my book!

I never thought I would love a hot dog like this. First of all, bacon-wrapped. Second, covered in beans and grilled onions. Third, side of grilled jalepeno. Fourth, avocado sauce at the salsa bar. And fifth, and maybe most importantly, the bun is just outstanding. I also ordered a horchata that tasted way better than anything you get from a mix out of those machines that are in most restaurants. My husband also got a special treat of a Fresca in a glass bottle. Everything is good here!

I stop here every time I’m in Tucson. And for me these are the best Sornoran Hot Dogs and cheap. If you haven’t had one you have got to try it they are dellicious. I live in Denver and have only found a couple of that have them and they aren’t close to these. Don’t let the location stop you from trying these. The place in clean and well run.

Best hotdog in town. Sure there alot of hype about Guerro Canelo but this little truck ha the best in town hands down. Anytime I get a craving for a hotdog I drive the 5 miles to the truck, even when Guerro is less than a mile from my home.

I will just say that this truck Sonoran hotdog is mighty fine! My favorite is still Ruiz’s by a very, very slim margin, but this is a very close second. Or maybe it’s a tie. I would say that the only difference being that Ruiz toasts both sides of the bun, but this one is toasted on one side. Small dif, I know. The flavors are about the same and it appears that almost all of the Sonoran hotdog vendors in Tucson get their special buns from Alejandro’s(who has the best tortillas you can buy at the grocery). Here’s a comparison between Ruiz’s and El Sinaloense: * Ruiz speaks less English than the guy at El Sinaloense :) * Ruiz toasts both sides of the bun, El S only one side * Both serve it with a grilled pepper * Both have very similar toppings(beans, bacon, etc.), I can’t tell/remember any difference * Both have bottled Mexican soda pop(Mexican brands and Coca Cola products) * El S has horchata and limonade, both homemade(I had the delicious limonade) * Both have toppings bar with similar condiments * Both are $ 2.50 for a dog * Both are great OK, maybe it is a tie because El S has the horchata and limonade. This is my 8th Sonoran dog try in Tucson. I will go there unhesitatingly. Especially after a round of disc golf at Grove’s Park.

A good dog, has everything you want on it. There are two better dogs that I’ve had in town though. Aqui Con El Nene and Tacos Apson. I feel like they could upgrade the bacon on this dog and maybe make it a bit heartier. In fairness it is delicious. And I love the hot pepper they grill and serve with the dog. My advice would be to get two though!

We arrived at El Sinaloense after a day at Mt. Lemmon, and it was the best thing that happened to me on this trip to Tucson. My dining partner and I new we were in for a treat because the two guys behind us ordered 10 dogs between the two of them. As we were eating our food, they ordered 2 more each! The sonoran dogs were the perfect balance of dogs, beans, and all of the other toppings. However the buns were the star of the show. They were buttered and toasted on the flattop, but they still maintained their fluffiness. Every bite had the right bun to dog/topping ratio and these were the best Sonoran dogs tasted out of the multiple restaurants we tried. Compare them to Ruiz’s and El Sinaloense will beat them hands down.

Hot dogs are an All American food — simple and uncomplicated. A little ketchup, mustard and relish and you are good to go. They are enjoyed in every backyard, in every Costco, at every sporting event in every city across America every day. So take this iconic All American dog, wrap it in bacon, cover it with beans, mustard, mayo and grilled onions and, presto, you have the Sonoran dog. The sad thing is you can no longer taste the dog. Maybe I am too much of a hot dog purist. Maybe I am just too damn picky, but if I am going to eat a hot dog, it should be of high quality and I should be able to taste the actual wiener. It should not require a toasty buttered bun, tasty homemade salsa or a nice freshly grilled yellow pepper to enjoy. Does that add to the Sonoran dog experience? You bet. Does it make the actual dog taste better? I am not so sure.

Sooooooooooo good! I was out meandering late and up to no good(actually, just driving around with lots of my mind). One thing I always seem to regret in my life is not trying foods more often that I deem in my head to be «un-healthy.» I get fixated on trying to eat right. And yet, I never seem to drop the weight when I do. So I did a u-turn on Alvernon and pulled into the huge parking lot of El Sinaloense. I am glad I did, for not only was my stomach craving a hot dog, I knew I needed to be spontaneous and live a little. Tomorrow, the gym. Today, Sonoran dog. The man here has few words. I asked what they serve and he just said«Hot dog.» That’s good enough for me; I like a simple menu. Less time to debate and re-think what I might want. I just told him to pile everything on, and he did. He cooked it up fast, double checked that I wanted the works, and $ 2.50 later I was on my way. He has some seats there to sit down on, and a cooler of drinks, but I wanted to drive and eat my dog at the same time. This is never a good idea, but oh well. The dog was delicious! Steaming hot off his cooker. It was ambrosia. One of the best Sonoran dogs I’ve had, and I have not had many, but still it beats the other ones I’ve had. The roasted pepper was so yummy and not too spicy and I ate it seeds and all. Do I have a little digestion burping after? Sure. Do I regret all that mayo and beans and scrumptious sausage? Not in the least! I’ll probably be spontaneous and swing by here again next week. I think they may be moving to somewhere on Grant Road, near a Walgreens. I’ll update if I find out. They had a sign up as of April 19 stating a move is impending.
