This is actually now Brookdale in The Catalina Foothills. My mom has been here for a little over 4 weeks. It was difficult for her to move because because she LOVED her prior assisted living facility. She moved here because she needed more care. There have been some challenges(many communication related) however I have been able to escalate my concerns to the Executive Director and he has been willing to listen and take action. I’m feeling good about the direction things are going and will continue to add updates and hopefully improved ratings. I do want to commend two individuals who are going above and beyond; one is Zulema(Z) who is a Med Tech and the other is Annie who is a server in the dining room. Both consistently display care and concern for my mom as well as the other residents and guests. I wanted to update my last review because I’ve seen improvements as a result my feedback. A big thanks to the Exe. Director, Chris. I also must say that the caregivers continued to impress me, especially with how much they cared about my mom. I have referred several individuals to this location because of this. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating was due to opportunities in the dining room. Knowing how good Chris is, the dining service has probably improved. I’m grateful they were there for my mom and our family. Thank you.

Clint enjoyed his first year at emeritus. After the merger with brookdale all the experienced staff left. In 6 months the admin team changed multiple times as well. After giving them time to adjust he decided to move.

I moved my mom in on October, 2013 and at first everything was great. Slowly things began to go wrong as communication to caregivers is very poor and they appear to be overworked and unhappy. An example: mom had to have a medical procedure done and it was very important that she be showered and ready for me to pick her up at 5 am. I was assured by staff members she would be ready. I arrived at 5 am to find my mom sound asleep in her bed. Luckily, I was able to change the time of her arrival for surgery by an hour so she could be showered and ready. All of the directors have quit, and turnover is extremely high. I moved mom out in June; she had lost 15 pounds since she moved in, and I had been doing most of her caregiving. I feel for the remaining residents who are not in the independent living category.
