Amazing company with an incredible mission. My organization approached them with a large custom shirt order, with a complex logo plus text on the back. Alok(the owner) was incredibly helpful, friendly on the phone and kept me updated on each step of the process. Payment was relatively simple through PayPal. Couldn’t asked for a better experience and way to promote sustainable, ethical fashion.

I first read about Fed by Threads in Baja Edible Arizona(a wonderful publication) and couldn’t wait to visit. It is amazing! Everything available is made in the U.S. and every purchase feeds hungry people. I always find something I love. There are so many unique items in such wonderfully soft materials. I love how welcome I feel every time I visit and only hear positive and supportive comments. Fed by Threads has such a wonderful message and is a gem in Tucson that everyone should visit at least once. They support the community and really care about the world around us.

Very good business model, gives back to the community. I appreciate the difference in quality and the ability to work directly with a local screen printer.

I really really love the concept of this. Sustainable and helps feed those in need. However, I really love bold statement pieces, like«just wow» pieces. I like things«tacky» and I always tell myself, «but in a good way,» and there just isn’t that much like this here. So I knocked off a star for my own personal taste. BUT, if you like simple pieces that can blend well together, that fit mostly good, and you are a big shop local, shop sustainable, shop and give back kind of person then this is for you. Just because it isn’t «me» doesn’t mean it isn’t a great business that has well made pieces. It does, just not for my taste. I still follow them on IG and FB waiting for a piece that suits me. Until then, I await in the sidelines because I like this concept.

Black Friday is a day I dread being anywhere near shops… the masses of people buying things unnecessary just because on sale is horrific. However since I am visiting Tucson for the holiday, it was the perfect day for a lunch date downtown with a dear friend. Near the Centro parking structure is this adorable and enticing clothing boutique. I was drawn to check it out. Walking in, Alok greets you with charm. While browsing the selection, he provides helpful tips on the fashion, assists with sizing, etc… He’s not pushy, yet attentive from a distance. Making shoppers feel welcome and comfortable while browsing the selections. The boutique is unique for many reasons. The clothing is sustainably made all in the USA. The material each item is made from are 100% organic. No sweat shop labor is involved. Alok does his research on finding designers across the USA and sells in his boutique only from designers whose items fit the above criteria. Each purchase also feeds the hungry locally in the Tucson community. I purchased a top and a dress. Both made of amazingly soft cotton and the fit… Perfect! I was inquisitive about boutiques with the same vision and mission in other US cities… there’s a few but most focus only on being made in the US without the organic material or outsource to other countries their organic material. There are a few of these though so don’t despair. Alok is passionate about his business model of improving America by not outsourcing while helping the environment through sustainability. His passion is evident through his every word, it’s a beautiful thing to be exposed to. To be honest, I usually do not give much thought to wear my clothes are made, only that the quality/brand is up to my standards. With my current personal journey to purge my life of most materialistic items(I am still me and still clothing obsessed before you judge my possible hypocritical statement), walking into this shop came at a perfect time. A few moments shopping in this shop have enlightened me and I vow to make more conscientious shopping decision. I’ll leave you with this quote from Alok(from Facebook) — «I realize simple living is a gift to my soul»

Just outside the Centro garage is this beautiful gem. Alok, the proprietor, is charming, attentive and has a fabulous body-positive message for every single person in his shop. Even better– the clothing he carries is made in America! I wandered in on a Wednesday afternoon and quickly picked up two dresses to try on. Although Alok was on the phone he quickly suggested a couple dresses I had overlooked. Being super petite I usually don’t like things that others pick out for me, but Alok was spot on! The dresses he picked out were winners and mine were left discarded in the changing room. I cannot tell enough people about this shop, the quality of the clothing, and the caring of the owner. I think I’m heading back next week… don’t tell my wallet ;).

Hands down, the best place to shop for clothes in Tucson. Not only do the clothes look fabulous on any shape of woman(and man I’m sure, though I can’t speak for dudes). The designers actually GET the shape and form of the female body – a novel concept in today’s fashion marketplace. It’s so common to try on clothes at a department store and feel totally ignored, or just a walking dollar sign to a salesperson who needs to get their daily commission. Well, NOTHERE! Trying on skirts, dresses, tops, legging, scarves, and all sorts of cool jewelry was an exceptional experience, thanks to Alok. If you’ve seen a video of Alok sharing the experience he creates for his guests(loving, nonjudgmental, supportive, enthusiastic, ‘hey, you are a gorgeous person!’), then you are getting a 100% honest glimpse in to Fed by Threads. FBT is a local-Tucson hero, and I can’t wait to shop again soon! Oh, and the hemp blouse I bought is fabulous. I save it for special occasions, but it’s so yummy, sometimes I want to sleep in it, too!

You know that horrible feeling you get when you’re clothes shopping, and you’re in that dreaded dressing room? You know, the one with the harsh lights, the pushy salesperson and the mirrors that seem to capture every flaw? Well, you won’t experience any of that yuckiness at Fed by Threads. Your curves are celebrated, the clothes seem to hug very inch of you just right and you get to do some good while updating your wardrobe. What’s not to love? Sustainable, American made clothes that help battle hunger all designed locally. Alok has created something wonderful, and I feel so honored to share in a little part of that here in the Old Pueblo!

This place represents the heart of this town. I happened upon them via Facebook. A friend had«liked» their page. Upon further inspection, I found their website and their beautiful clothing… made even more amazing by the fact that they give back so freely and lovingly. Every single piece of clothing sold donates meals to hungry LOCAL people. Amazing. I was so impressed that I drove down to FBT on my lunch hour to meet Alok, whom I had been emailing with previously. FBT is also part of The Movement Shala which offers all kinds of movement classes which I’m dying to try. Next to the dance space is the clothing portion of the facility. The décor is clean, inviting, and warm. I was greeted immediately by Alok who remembered my name from our email exchanges. I had some concerns that their clothes wouldn’t fit me because I am a bigger size. But he was kind and reassuring and encouraged me to try things on and give him feedback on what I was looking for. Wonderful. I purchased the Bhakti top in black. It’s flowy and soft and feels DELICIOUS against your skin. This is made that much more special by the fact that the materials are completely sustainable. So amazing to buy something beautiful that gives back to the community and helps the environment AND local business. I highly recommend checking out their store and/or their website to find what jewels await you. And by all means, support their beautiful mission.
