Got a chance to check out JBK this afternoon at Catalina Highway and Tanque Verde. My wife had the chicken taco plate and my son and I split the Cuban. WOW, all of it was fantastic. Tacos were flavorful, Cuban moist and tasty! Now, at that point, I had to try the sonoran dog. That dog was the best I’ve had. Sadly, I only got half as my son ate the other half. I heard that JBK will be back there in two weeks. Good, I’ll be breaking out my stretchy pants!

Love, Love, Love the food at JBK! The cubans are to die for and the pork with Cuban black beans and rice are over the top. The chicken tacos are some of the best I’ve had. JBK has quite the following — try it! you won’t be disappointed!

Jamie’s Bitchen Kitchen food is just ok. Really, nothing spectacular is going on in this food truck. It’s cool that they’re producing ok food out of a truck, and they travel all over the community to serve the people some ok food, but that shouldn’t cloud the judgement of the food. It’s not awesome. Let’s talk about the Cuban, which seems to be Jamie’s bread and butter. Why is the jalapeño on the top? What is the point of a single slice of jalapeño? So I get 1.5 bites with some of it? Eh, ok. The meat was a little bland, quite dry, and cold. The food took quite a while to be ready, so why was it still cold? The dryness of the meat begged for more cheese, or something more on it to moisten it up. I didn’t even finish my sandwich, which is somewhat unusual for me. It just wasn’t worth the effort it was taking to keep chewing. There are better Cubano sandwiches to be had in Tucson. The service was nice. The prices are too high. Give a side or something with that pricey sandwich if you don’t want people to feel ripped off. Overall, we’ll be passing up Jamie’s from now on unless we’re starving and it’s the only food around. And we have passed it up at the half dozen or more 2nd Saturday events and food truck round-ups that we’ve been to recently. Ultimately, that’s the reason for the two stars I’ve given them. If I only want to eat there again if I’m starving, then that means it really was a «meh, I’ve experienced better» experience. Sorry, Jamie’s Bitchen Kitchen.

My first time trying a Cuban sandwich and it was delicious! I don’t even like pickles and mustard, but they’re really subtle and all the flavors combined make a delicious treat! I’m looking forward to trying some of their other cuisine.-please note, the truck only accepts cash

Ahhhhmazing. We had the pulled pork and blackened chicken tacos. Every part was delicious, perfectly seasoned, fresh, and tasty! I can’t wait to find them again.

I’ve only eaten at Jamie’s Bitchen Kitchen once, but the food was delicious and I’ve been craving it ever since. Excellent Cuban food, most welcome here in Tucson!

Asked for a Cuban sandwich without mustard… apparently this is something that can not be accomplished. They told me that they are already made ahead of time. Makes me wonder about their freshness.

So I’ve only eaten from Jamies Bitchen Kitchen once, but it was so good that it’s worth reviewing right away! And yes, I only tried the Cuban, but it was glorious and totally deserving of this review. I will also admit that I had never tried a Cuban before, so I have nothing to compare it to, but what I can say is that is was super tasty! I usually don’t review a place until I have at least eaten there twice, but this truck is delivering the goods. They are clearly passionate and having fun with their jobs and I love that! I can’t wait to try them again… I also had my eye on there hot dog. YUM!

Had to weigh my decision tonight between Animal Farm and Bitchen Kitchen-the Kitchen won. Pleased with my decision as I chose two pork tacos. Each taco is $ 2.00 each so very fair for the punch of flavor you get in your mouth. Juicy pork, crispy and fresh fillings all complimented with the perfect amount of spice. What sets these tacos over the edge in perfection is that they also take the time to grill the corn tortilla providing a warm crunch. It is like having your app of chips along with your entrée.

We tried this food truck at the food truck roundup at the NW Corner of Ina/Oracle yesterday. I was excited to try the Bitchen Kitchen as I love the name! We were not disappointed! We had the 2 chicken tacos with beans and rice and it was delish! I will definitely hit this place again at the next food truck roundup.

I have been hankering for tacos from a truck since I arrived in Green Valley last week. I finally got to get me some today at the GV farmer’s market. I tried one each of the grilled chicken and pulled pork tacos. They were both very good but I give the edge to the pork version. Both were topped with tomatoes, onions and shreds of cabbage, slightly different from the Michoacán tacos I enjoyed in Redwood City, CA. The corn tortillas were a bit crispy, really delightful. Price was $ 2 apiece, a little higher than Bay Area taco trucks, but they still made a satisfying bargain meal. Soft drinks are a paltry $ 1 apiece and oddball beverages Yoohoo and Hawaiian Punch were among the offerings to round out the dining experience.

Food truck roundup yay! I got the castro sonoran dog. The bread was fluffy soft, not to sweet roll. It was somewhat yellow and seemed very fresh. The hot dog was high quality all beef and there were a pile of black beans, salsa and sauce. Everything was well cooked, eaten quickly and was filling. It did not have bacon(I mention that because allot of people find that a prerequisite towards being a ‘sonoran’ dog). If I did it all over, I would have added some of the hot sauce, it would have benefited from having some kick!

My crew and I tried Chef Jamie’s tacos, jerk chicken, and Cuban sandwich last night at the Food Truck Roundup event. Yes, we stood in line for a looooong time, but it was certainly worth the wait in the end. And, we were extremely grateful that we actually got to eat at this event. I think her truck was one of a few that wasn’t out of most of their menu items by the time we got there a bit after 7pm. The pulled pork and blackened chicken tacos were Scrumptious! The seasoning was on-point, and both were juicy and just delicious. The jerk chicken was a different flavor than what I’m used to(I’m Jamaican and used to that version) but still quite delicious. Only thing, it was all thigh meat and i don’t like thighs, but I tried it anyway and liked the flavors. The accompanying black beans, rice and slice of pineapple were a nice combination, as well, It was good. The Cuban sandwich was sooo good, like others have shared, it’s perfectly melted cheese, delicious pork, ham and pickles all hot, toasty and yummy. Glad we waited, it was worth it! We have plans to visit her sometime soon on 4th Ave.

Disclaimer: I am Cuban. Now that that is out of the way, oh my goodness, I am in love Jamie’s Bitchen Kitchen. I have never, repeat, never had such a good Cuban Sandwich, it’s better than many of the Cuban sandwiches in Miami. I said it. The pulled pork with the ham and cheese and pickles is just melt in your mouth. If you want an authentic taste of Cuban food– this is it. I also had to sample the chicken taco because it had black beans in it, which are my weakness. I just adore them. I started following Jamie’s Bitchen Kitchen on twitter the minute after I ate a bite(@jbitchenkitchen). This food truck was the highlight of tonight’s Tucson Food Truck Roundup!

Another review because of the food truck roundup! This was the last truck that we stood in line for, and glad we did. Even though we were pretty full, the hubby and I decided on the Cuban sandwhich. It was hot & toasty with nice flavors from the ham and the pickles and I believe there was pork in there too. Like I said we were pretty full so we just took a bite to try it and we saved the rest for later. My husband ate it as a late night snack later and said it was still really good! The service was friendly and prompt.

This is one of the best cuban sandwiches ever. It is definitely worth seeking out this truck(usually parked at The Hut on 4th Ave on weekends) to experience the melty, salty, crunchy sandwich that is the cuban. My only complaint is that it is a little on the small side. Like if you are hungry, you might want two. Jamie is adorable and a great chef. I saw her driving down Kino Parkway a few days ago. The Man and I were giving her thumbs up and honking. She just smiled a huge grin back at us. Yes, we are silly. But these food truck vendors work very hard. Show them some love!

We found Jamie’s tonight at the food truck round-up. We looked around for a while and the various options and decided that Jamie’s just sounded the most appetizing. Wow, I’m glad I tried it! My daughter opted for their Cuban sandwich(which as a rule, of course I had to taste; it was delicious!) and I tried the Sonoran hot dog. Now, these Sonoran dogs are different than what you may have tried before. The hot dog is all beef and is topped with a jalapeño/bacon aioli, black beans, and cheddar cheese. Yum, yum. My husband also had the Sonoran dog and had a bit more a mess. In other words, you will need napkins. I want to see them again to try their jerk chicken and maybe a Cuban for myself. Now, I’m not sure if the round-up at Dinnerware Artspace is going to be a a monthly thing, but you can follow Jamie’s on twitter or facebook to see where they’ll be located. @jbitchenkitchen

*** UPDATE: As of Wed May 82013, Jamie’s Bitchen Kitchen Truck is no longer in business. The owner sold it to someone who is taking the food truck out of state. *** The Cuban black beans and rice are«to die for.» Jamie just added a Sonoran hot dog to her menu. Yes, I know — that’s NOT Cuban, but that shows you how responsive she is to her customers’ requests. I ordered the blackened chicken tacos and my hubby got the all-beef Chicago dog. We ended up eating our own food while«stealing» from the other’s plate! That’s how good it was.
