Kbork

[Update: I guess it isn’t official anymore… Kbork appears to have switched locations again. I’m not sure where the new spot is, but if anyone knows, I would love to hear about it!]
It’s official: Kbork has relocated its full operation to Broadway, right in front of Axis Market (a.k.a. «Keg Beer Headquarters»). Since they are now just about halfway between my house and my girlfriend’s, this is a big story, especially since their food is pretty darned good.
Kbork is actually composed of two adjacent stands: one serving tacos, burritos, caramelos, etc; and the other serving Sonoran hot dogs. As far as Sonoran hot dogs go, these are pretty standard offerings — all the standard ingredients, the standard $ 2.50 price tag, and just about nothing to rave or complain about. Luckily for us, standard Sonoran hot dogs are pretty delicious!
More exciting, however, are the offerings in the other cart. This was their first day at the new location, so my choices were pretty much limited to things made from carne asada. Lucky for me, that wasn’t much of a handicap. My carne asada burrito came rolled in a fresh tortilla with pico de gallo and some very flavorful beans; topped with a bit of their homemade salsa verde and bottled habanero hot sauce, it was just what I was hankering for. At $ 4, the burrito was reasonably priced although a bit on the small side — I would probably recommend getting an additional item to make sure that you don’t leave hungry.
I haven’t gotten to try their notorious «dirty» tacos yet, and I will be sure to update when I do. But for the time being, I feel safe in saying that this is a very happy development for all of us living in the campus area — Kbork can definitely throw down.

If you are in downtown Tucson and are looking for a street taco or two or three. stop at the Kbork food truck parked at Stone & Pennington. They have a «Dirty» street taco with carna asada, bacon & chorizo. WOW! is it good. also the barbacoa is so juicy and flavorful. don’t forget to try the charro beans. yummy!

No I do not own the business. But I found this place recently since the previous cart had moved and so I had to try it. They’re directly across from Ike’s and Eat-​a-​Burger. Weird name. Don’t get it but I decided to try it anyways.
The menu is simple. A few items to choose from. Makes it easy for them. I ended up ordering the Carne Asada burro and it was absolutely delish! Sometimes when I grab a quick carne asada burro, the carne asada isn’t that great and is full of bone pieces, gristle, etc. This was not the case. The meat was flavorful and juicy and every single bite was very edible. I enjoyed it immensely.
They have a couple of tables to eat at and the local homeless people are usually playing some great Pink Floyd on the guitar, so there’s some epic background music.
Give them a try! I would love to see them stay around for a while! They owner/​operator was very friendly and I told him I would help spread the word. Not sure he knows about Unilocal or how much Unilocal can help him!
