Kolb Nails

Update to my previous review:
I am somewhat disappointed about how long the polish stayed on my toes. I came in around 4−5pm on a Thursday and received a pedicure and had some very pretty polish put on for my wedding. My wedding was on Saturday, and by Saturday evening the color was already chipping on my toes — which never happens, even when I paint them myself at home.
I guess the price was right. But if the polish isn’t going to stay on longer than a few days, I probably could have just painted them myself at home.

It was okay. I didn’t care for the color selection of gels. The pedicure was really great. The manicure was simply okay. It wasn’t awesome enough to consider a return trip.

I’m here on a businesses trip and very glad I chose this place. Service was great, people are very friendly and definitely not like California. I can’t say it enough how happy I am with my pedicure and gel fill. I recommend anyone to come here if you want your stuff done right.

After a terrible pedi a month ago (at another salon) I was really apprehensive about trying a new place. I used to go to Kolb Nails years ago for my acrylics — they did a great job back then — so I decided to give them another try.
Got a french gel mani and it is AWESOME! The only con is that it took a while — a full hour. But it was totally worth the wait! They even remembered me from back in the day :)
Plus the price is right. $ 25, compared to $ 30 – 40 elsewhere.
It’s certainly not a fancy place, but a great mani at a great price. Would definitely recommend this place!

I have been going to Kolb Nails for quite a few years. Very small shop, nothing fancy, but I LOVE the service (and the employees)! Everyone is so friendly and you never feel like a stranger even if it’s your first time there. The pedicures are great (love the massaging chairs). I always have the technician put a little «design» on the big toenails after I get them painted and it’s always something different and it’s perfect! The prices are reasonable and my nails (both toes and hands) always last a long time!

Close to my home in my new neighborhood I decided to check this salon out. I arrived on a weekend afternoon about 30 minutes before closing time without an appointment and the staff was short a few technicians that day but were all very welcoming and professional, they assured me they had time to fit me in for a pedicure. They never made me feel rushed even when the last two appointments of the day arrived. The pricing was reasonable. The downfall was the quality in the pedicure I received. My feet felt great and my toes looked good but I’ve never had nail polish last such a short time on my toes. Usually polish will last over month in good shape for me but at two weeks out it was chipping on multiple toes and completely lifted off of my big toe.

When I arrived to stay in Tucson, I was sad to leave behind one of the best manicurist I had the pleasure to meet. It took some serious trial and error (lots, and lots and LOTS of errors,) to finally find myself, timidly giving my hands and nails to yet another nail tech. What I got was nothing short of brilliant. If the work was impressive, I was then blown away by the CONSISTENCY and QUALITY of the staff, time after time. I was literally, overjoyed at having found the greatest little nail salon in all of Tucson. I have also learned that I am not along in my assessment. Another remarkable fact is the clientel itself. I would say 98% of their clientel have been coming to Kolb Nails for YEARS and show no signs of slowing down! I am one of those happy long-​term customers. The family business is a delight. Literally, it feels like family. So many times I run into familiar customer faces and the hour just flies by chatting, catching up with each other and ending up with a flat gorgeous manicure EVERY SINGLE TIME. I love this family and their nail salon business. I sure hope you all stay in Tucson for many more years to come! I urge you to give Kolb Nails a try. For me, they are a bit of a drive but so very worth it! Even if you’re really happy with your current manicurist, come see what Kolb can do! Try out a new set with them! I am willing to bet, you’ll be pleased and impressed like so many of their faithful customers!

Kolb nails is a very small salon with very dated, simple décor. However they accomplish exactly what I need — a well done, inexpensive gel manicure! All of the employees are very nice and welcoming. My nails always come out looking great and my manicure usually lasts close to 3 weeks!

Stopped in for a quick gel mani today and found them to be the most friendly and welcoming people! Also got a fabulous manicure. She really took her time, and included a little shoulder massage as well.

I’ve been going to Kolb nails for 9 years, I get pedicures, manicures and get my eye brows waxed there. This is the best place in Tucson. I’ve been to other places but none compare to Kolb Nails. They are reasonably priced and do great work. I leave there happy every time.
The only other place I would go to is Suite Nails. They are related.
Go to Kolb nails and you will leave happy, too! :)

I just did not have a good experience here. I went in for acrylic was charged $ 25.00 not $ 15 like stated on another review. I asked for short they did long, I asked for pink they turned out red, I asked for shorter and he was rude. I got moved to another lady who finished the paint and sent me on my way. They were not busy at the time and he took forever to do my nails. I will never go back.

Long does great nails, his work is EXCELLENT. I love how he shapes them, makes them just the right thickness for me… I don’t like thick nails and he knows how to make them for me… His wife is ADORABLE. The place is always clean and packed. Call ahead to make an appointment, but walk ins can be accomodated too. I just always call so I don’t have to wait more than 5 minutes… He is very thoughtful and does an EXCELLENT JOB!

Stopped in to get an acrylic fill (only $ 15!), and waited about 10 minutes while the nail tech was finishing another customer’s nails. He said he was the only one available to do acrylics for a while while the other tech was on vacation.
When he started my nails, it only took about 30 minutes; easily the fastest service I’ve ever had for acrylics. The tech was very friendly and held a conversation with me the whole time.
The salon itself isn’t the most appealing place. Ex: not many decorations, no music, etc but it was very nice to my wallet and I was in and out within 45 minutes. I’ll be coming here for my fills from now on!

Not the prettiest place but the staff was absolutely wonderful to me and my group of ten that went and had mani/​pedis. I would definitely go again!
