Overpriced and not that great! We were looking to try a new place for dinner and ended up here. The place was small. no big deal. However the food was overpriced and not that great. The server neglected us. We will not be going back!

this has not closed just moved, I LOVETHEIRSALMON, I buy the sauce on its own. Great service and staff that have been there for 10+ years, that always says something about the owners

Burgers were horrible. Meat was dry, tasteless, and overcooked. Bun was stale. We live nearby and have been three times. Poor to mediocre quality every time. New location on Tanque Verde was packed when it first opened. Just went on a Friday evening and it was half empty. Looks like we are not the only ones who won’t go back. I’m not sure how they have gotten good reviews. Maybe the food quality has deteriorated since the opening reviews. Or, maybe the reviewers prefer quantity over quality.

I just ventured to this restaurant at its new location on Tanque Verde. I have never tried a steak burger before but I was especially happy with my first experience with the Western Steak Burger. The meat was cooked perfectly, the vegetables were cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. I liked the texture of the bread and the consistency of the cheese and bacon. The customer service was great. It was a new gentleman who waited on us and he was really down to earth and didn’t feel the need to put on a show and actually came across as genuine. He promptly got our drinks and food out and kept apologizing for the wait, even though there was none. Overall a very enjoyable experience :)

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! I have lived within 5 miles of this place since it opened, and definitely eat here quite a bit! I have never gotten anything bad from this place the numerous times I’ve been here and eaten in or take out. The streaks, are amazing. You honestly can’t go wrong with them! My boyfriend always gets the bbq sample platter, always a winner too! Their salads are great(the chicken is so yummmm). I am so bummed they are moving away, we need all the good restaurants we can get on the Eastside.

So handy… good food, but they’re moving away to 8995 Tanque Verde on June 14… boo on that!

My family dined for the first time at Longhorn’s last night. No it’s not a high end restaurant however that has nothing to do with the quality of food and service received at this establishment. Mom had senior fish fry, hubby ordered mushroom burger with fries, I ordered blue cheeseburger and added bacon, not on menu but waitress said I could add it no extra charge. We all enjoyed our food, the place was busy and yes there were seniors there. I don’t understand Ruben’s issue with that and the«senior smell.» Maybe he had a long day and just wasn’t feeling it… anyway I’ve gone to Chili’s and smell old grease, and the food is ok. I prefer locally/privately owned restaurants and appreciated the warm atmosphere at Longhorns.

This place will receive a strong 2.5 stars. As I walked in my first thought was, «This place smells like a retirement home.» I felt bad for thinking that after I saw how many elderly diners were present. But, I couldn’t even smell any food. My wife and I were about to walk back out but we were meeting my sister and her husband and didn’t want to have to look for some place else. I would say that the prices are kinda high for this kinda place. It had a lower end feel and a few of the servers were beastly, plain and simple. 9 bucks for your basic cheeseburger. My bacon and mushroom cheeseburger came in at $ 12 with no fries or other sides!!! They don’t even have a hamburger listed on the kids meal. So $ 9 for my daughters cheeseburger that she couldn’t finish. A few of the steak platters went for around $ 22. While the food was good with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and other veggies, I feel I could have a better value and better tasting burgers at Chili’s.

I’ve eaten here a few times and enjoyed the food and the kitschy down home restaurant feel. I think the prices are a little high for what you get. But the staff is friendly and service is good even when they’re busy.

The owner of this place really needs to read the reviews. This place has the potential to be amazing. Who puts Kraft singles on a $ 10 burger??? Way to ruin a good burger. And charging extra for jalepenos, cheese, and other basic condiments that go on a burger makes the owner look like a cheap goob. The burger I had was really good, but this place will continue to have a 2 in my mind until they use some decent quality cheese.

Been here twice now and both times we had the steak combo. the price is right, we had the steak and it was good… the sides, however were not. Just like one of the review, the veggies were frozen and the salad was wilted and it did look like it came from the salad bags you buy at the grocery stores… I wish I can say more positive things, but I cant…

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the overkill on the theme of the place. Steer horns on the wall with ropes hanging from them, seat backs upholstered with western theme items, leather tablecloths — yes, I said leather — and wagon wheels. You get the picture. Robert Irvine would have his work cut out for him with this place. Once you get past feeling like you are in an episode of Bonanza, the lunch specials are a great deal, $ 7.89 for your choice of about seven different sandwiches and one salad… and that includes a drink. The dinner special for $ 25.99 for two gets you each a salad, bread, an entrée each(from a selected menu), two sides each and an appetizer or dessert to share. That seems like a pretty good deal if you are dining out on a budget — or just cheap like me. I had the brisket sandwich. It came with fries and was accompanied by BBQ sauce on the side and pickles. The brisket was tender, but it was dry and needed A LOT of help from the BBQ sauce. I had to ask for more sauce as the first application was quickly soaked up by the too-large bun and dry meat. I even had to add some mustard for additional moisture. With all those condiments in my sandwich it’s a miracle the bun held up. My buddy had the beer battered fish sandwich, which the waitress said was popular. He said it was good but the tartar sauce was a little weird. He was still so enamored by the fact that the lunch special included a drink you could have given him beer battered boogers and he would have been happy… and I think I am cheap. Service was slow but the food was not terrible and the price was right. Not exactly a glowing endorsement, but if you are a sucker for a good deal, it’s probably worth a try.

Ate here for the second time yesterday for lunch. Tried the pulled pork sandwich with the bbq sauce on the side since I have to test for heat before I can go whole hog. Well I poured the bbq sauce over the pork and devoured the sandwich. It was delish! Loved the pickles that were served on the side because the sour countered the sweet of the sauce. The seasoned fries were really good with the sandwich too. Hubby had a cheeseburger cooked medium… cooked just right and he enjoyed it too. Last time we ate here was during Lent so we’d had the beer-battered fish was very good also. There’s always a nice crowd in here and the wait staff are friendly. We’ll definitely be back here for either lunch or dinner.

I’ve been here about a dozen times. Sometimes just to the bar for their 3 dollar margaritas or, we sit in for lunch or dinner. We are usually the youngest couple in the house too. The food is good, nothing extraordinary but, there is consistency and their food always hits the spot. Their sweet tea is my favorite in town though!

The steak was great and the beer-battered shrimp were AMAZING! The service was great too. The steaks were huge and cooked perfectly. The amount of food was absolutely huge. Lots of food for the money. I ordered the New York Strip with Shrimp(beer-battered) with sides of green beans, longhorn beans, and baked potato. The Longhorn beans were amazing. The green beans were just ok — way too overcooked and had a strange taste to them(beefy?). I like my vegetables to taste like the vegetables they are instead of the meat they are accompanying. I also got a baked potato which was good, but they used American cheese for the cheese. I was actually pretty disappointed. I’m at a steakhouse and my potato was served with American cheese? That is like drinking champagne in a plastic Solo cup. If I knew it was going to be American, I would have asked for cheddar or jack instead.

Can’t believe the first reviewer… the food is awesome! It’s locally owned, which means a lot to me. Great lunch specials, steaks, chicken friend steak and burgers. I’ve had the rib-eye steak… it was awesome with excellent flavor, but not filled with fat and ‘grizzle’ that can’t be eaten. I’ve also had the chicken friend steak, freshly battered and served with three sides. Service is quick and friendly. Don’t let the restaurant name lead you to believe they are a burger joint: much more than that. Very down-home and friendly. Fast!

One step above high school cafeteria food. We had a steak, barbecued chicken and an assortment of sides(beans, mashed potatoes, french fries). The chicken tasted like it was covered in generic, bottled sauce. The rolls they brought were grey, tasteless lumps. Seriously bad food for $ 30/two people. No wonder Google thinks this place is closed.
