If you can tell by my pics I’m here for the Camaron Culichi. There a few other great tasting dishes like the shrimp cocktail or the grilled fillet but honestly this dish dominates this establishment. The place otherwise is very clean and there’s plenty of parking. Look at those pics and get your toes over here! You won’t regret it :)

I ordered the pescado and camarones cooked in garlic sauce. It came with a nice salad, fries and plain rice. The fish was a generous piece of pan fried red snapper which was okay. But the cook had totally overcooked the shrimp until they were curled into hard rubber balls. The«garlic sauce» was nothing more than very burnt garlic bits in a little oil. Hey«cocineros» don’t fry shrimp on a red hot plancha. Show a little finesse and cook this delicate seafood more slowly in a cooler pan and for less time. Basic Cooking 101. On an odd note, I ordered a horchata to go($ 4). Luckily, I tasted it before I left and it tasted like spoiled milk. So, I asked the waitress about it and she said they made it fresh daily and, «Oh, did you want a fresh one?» «No, I want the spoiled dregs from the old batch» I sarcastically thought to myself . This is yet another restaurant I’ve crossed off my list. I’m tired of paying real money($ 20 lunch + tip) for indifferent food and service. You’ve been warned Unilocalsters.

Yep. My favorite and the best Mexican seafood restaurant in Tucson. I come here a couple times per week. Always clean and fresh, dedicated professional staff. Consistent fantastic quality food. The salsa is not perfect and the hot sauces on the table could be kept a little cleaner and replaced more often. I have zero other complaints. A delightful spot with delightful Mexican seafood. Especially the fish to my mind but the shrimp is great too.

Soooo not only did I not want to come here, but I just couldn’t get over the seafood in the desert idea. I will only have seafood when in California and this place proved my point. My mother who has all the seafood available to her living in San Francisco, decides she is craving seafood here. Didn’t like the idea but had no choice. Figured I’d give it a try. Ambiance was decent, waitress was fairly nice and place was super slow, lunch hours on a weekday. I ordered shrimp culichi, nothing great. Rice was bland and«salad» didn’t touch. Ordered fried calamari, love the stuff. But this one was just way to big and rubbery not like what I’ve had before in San Francisco you can’t compare. Chips and salsa were probably the best Prt of this whole thing and even those were way over salted. Definitely will not go back. Sorry, not sorry

The Best Ceviche in town! Culichi and shrimp fajitas are good! Service sucks most of the time. Pricey $$$

So gross!!! Planned to eat here, arrived before our party so we sat for a drink at the bar. Michelada was awesome and for that, the one star. But while we were contemplating the menu, a young girl behind the bar(long light brown hair in a pony tail) drop a chip bowl on the ground(ewww!!!) proceeded to pick it up dip it into the chip bucket scoop up chips and place them into the chip«drawer». Then as I watched gave said chip bowl to another customer!!! Just ewww!!! So, needless to say I will never be back because of that. If you plan to go … Please be aware of what is happening with your meal…

Very pleasant surprise! After a day shopping at the Gem and Mineral Shows we were ready to sit down to a good meal. Pleasant staff and good food was just what we wanted. I had a garlic shrimp and fish dish and my husband had a shrimp in a garlic cream sauce. Very good!

Very pleasant atmosphere! It passed my «Vulcan nose» smell test with flying colors and I’m sitting next to the restroom. Brazilian song with Ivete Sangalo! Very friendly waiter. Food is beyond words delicious!!!

I hadn’t been here in a long time because I feel like there was nothing special about a few pieces of shrimp with rice. It is also overpriced… You get your main entrée with a side of rice, soft french fries and what they call a salad — a few pieces of lettuce with a sliced tomato on top. Well, I tagged along for a special occasion with my family and I regret it. We got the chicken and shrimp fajitas which were dry and salty. We also got yellow peppers wrapped in bacon and stuffed with chopped«shrimp», which I couldn’t taste. They were ok. The sauce the peppers came in was super salty. Service was SLOOOOWWW even though there were only 4 other tables occupied while we were there. Our drinks were only refilled once and only because my husband went up to the bar for it. Same thing with our chips, he went and asked for more. The waitress only came back once to check on us after the food arrived. Maybe instead of standing around by the cash register with their fellow waitress friends, they should check on their tables. The most annoying thing was that all of our food didn’t come out together. By the time the last plate came out, the first person to receive their plate was already done eating. Kinda frustrating when you go out with your family to have a meal together. We asked for our check and it took 2 girls over 15 minutes to sort it out. There were 9 of us. A big group, but not that big. I can see why this place was slow on a Saturday night. It was just dead in there, no music or anything. On the plus side. The shrimp and pulpo cocktails looked really good!!! My sisters loved it.

Best food ever! I came here while I was on my road trip and I loved the food wish they were in my city, except the waitress named IRLANDA was flirtatious with my husband hinted to give her his number which I dislike as we came with the family. This restaurant has great cooks ! but just the waitress were off. I miss their food !!! I don’t think I will be back just because of the waitress incident food/cooks the best waitress service experience … Too bad

New location! They moved from the store on grant to a bigger restaurant area and kept the décor and the ambience pretty much the same. Food is still great(best salsa in town in my opinion) and the service is quick and friendly. Worth a stop if you are craving sea food!

Since we moved to Tucson 2 years ago, I have driven by Mariscos Chihuahua dozens of times, but have never stopped because 1) while I occasionally eat seafood, I don’t go out of my way for it, and 2) the exterior of the restaurant is not particularly inviting, in my opinion. But my girlfriend and I went there last week, and both of us were truly surprised at the quality of the food. Other than fish tacos, I’ve never had Mexican seafood before, but both of our dinners were excellent. Yes, the rice is just white rice, and the side salad seems almost unnecessary, but the main dishes were spicy, hot, and incredibly flavorful. The service was very good, and the atmosphere is much better than would be indicated by the outside of the building. Prices for our entrees were $ 13.-14. which seemed to be what most dinners on the menu are. We’re planning on going again this week.

I love the food here. I’ve had half the menu and haven’t been disappointed yet(though they should get rid of the side salad). Their seafood here is better than most restaurants I’ve eaten at in Mexico. It is easily one of the best Mexican seafood that I’ve had in Tucson. The prices are reasonable; I especially enjoy the three shrimp tacos for under $ 10. Although other locations are not up to the same standard of service and cleanliness, this particular location is very clean and has good service. On April 24, I was served by Sergio. He was extremely nice and welcoming. He smiled and was polite when my wife asked him to take our picture.

Shrimp Culichi was good but it’s not something I would crave for. The worst horchata drink I’ve ever had. I didn’t even think that’s possible for a Mexican restaurant. I had to exchange it for a coke.

Oh man, there’s not a lot of nice things I can say about this place. The chips had to be at least a day old and over cooked. The salsa was not flavorful nor appetizing to look at. I ordered the chicken quesadillas and it took forever to get the food. But I did like the quesadillas. The chicken tasted fresh and the cheese was good. And they cooked the tortillas just right. The rice on the side was not Mexican rice-it was plain rice and it was no Bueno. The last thing to review was the service and I have to say that I was very unimpressed. The server seemed like he did not want to be there and I never got a drink refill. I’m sorry Mariscos you are not for me.

I’ve been to every Mariscos Chihuahua on town and this is by far the best one. The service is always friendly and fast, and the food is always delicious. My favorites in rotation are the Shrimp or Marlin Torritos and Shrimp Ceviche as appetizers and my go to dishes rotate between the Shrimp Culichi and a Large Coctel de Camarron. Always satisfied and try to make it in at least once every two weeks.

Delicious food & great service. Ceviche and shrimp cocktails were authentic. Shrimp tacos and whole fried fish were excellent. This was definitely an authentic Mexican lunch, all we needed was the beach. We will be back, very affordable for the quality.

Just like their motto-«Best seafood in the desert!»… So far this place does not disappoint! I’ve been here several times before, and everything that I’ve had here is AMAZING! I’ve tried the fish tacos, fried fish, cerviche, shrimp relleno & shrimp culichi. My favorites would have to be the Shrimp Culichi and the Shrimp Relleno. The green sauce in the shrimp culichi is so creamy and flavorful. I usually put my rice in it too because I want that flavor in every bite! Super yummy and fulfillingly deliciious! Oh, and as for the Shrimp Relleno… Giant sized Shrimp wrapped in bacon, what more could you ask for? =) Both are served with fries and a salad too! Mmmm, I think I’m getting hungry again! Lol. My only caveat is the service. I’d actually have to take a half star off, making it a 4.5 star rating, because of it. Our waitress was a bit slow and inattentive. We had to either try to make eye contact with her or flag her down to get refills on our drinks, and later when we wanted our check. The bus boy actually was more helpful and friendly. Anyways, other than that, the food outweighed the service in my book.(Probably cause this is one of the only seafood places in town that is worth going to, I’d overlook it!) So, If you are looking for seafood in the Old Pueblo, this is may be the place to be!

Everyone raves about how their fish tacos are the best. Honestly, I’ve never met a fish taco I was too crazy about. UNTIL… Mariscos Chihuahua!!! Ohhhhh buddy!!! After a super long day at work, my stomach was doing a happy dance at the first bite! Not to mention the reasonable price of $ 8.95 for 3. I decided I wasn’t in the mood for fried fish, so I asked them to grill it. Ohhhhhhhh! It was SO good! Grilled fish with a perfectly seasoned slaw on top in a soft shell. De.light.ful. I will DEFINITELY be back for a visit to try a few more things on the menu in the near future. The only thing that could have made this better was free wifi, but hey… I can always work after I finish shoveling down the yummy food!
