MMLE meets once a week on Wednesdays at around 5PM. It’s a group run/walk, and afterwards there is a raffle. Local businesses donate items/gift certificates to give away, and when you sign in to MMLE and get the MMLE stamp, you are eligible to deals at the restaurants in La Encantada. Most of the deals are 10% off your meal, which is great for some of the priceyer restaurants like North! After 8 times at MMLE, you get a free t-shirt and after 15 times, you get a free visor. If you are truly dedicated, after 50 visits you get a MMLE pin! It’s a great way to get to know your community and add some activity to your work week. I can not believe there isn’t a review about this already. I went here for the first time with my cousin last Wednesday and we had a great time! There were a lot of people and everyone was friendly and willing to point me in the right direction. There were an amazing number of activities to choose from. You could run or walk 3 miles off the property, learn how to «speed walk» or do a «walk-out» for 1.5 miles on the property, or take Thai Chi class. There was also a 30 minute warm up lead by a local personal trainer. All for free! We started with the warm-up and it really got our heart rate going. It was a perfect start to get us going and there were around 20 other people participating. Then we decided to join in the«walk-out» group. The leaders were fun and friendly and directed us to do small workouts as we completed our 1.5 mile loops of walking on the grounds. The best part of the walk-out was the stair challenge at the end. I was amazed at the number of 50 somethings doing 10 or more stair reps at the end, and there was a prize! Afterwards, the director of the program handed out T-shirts and recognized those who had been attending 8 or more times. Some people were on their 50th or more, so there are a lot of people sticking to this event. I will definitely be return to this every Wednesday, it was a fun way to work out and not realize you were working out.
