I have a problem with the prior posting! I am prior military and have moved 10 times in the us and out of the country as well. My last move from Meridian Moving Systems was one of the best I have experienced out of them all. My experience was over and above informative and detailed. Of course no one has a crystal ball and can tell you exactly when they will arrive at your new home… That is not practical! Big trucks have more to deal with on the road rather a normal car. My dad always says what you put out in the world you will get back. Maybe the prior person was rude to the workers. Everyone I came in contact with was very pleasant. There always is a possibility you will be on the truck with another shipment no matter which full service moving company you choose. The semi trucks hold apx 20,000 lbs of household goods and if you are only 9000 lbs. going apx 1800 miles, so you would be sharing to maximize the load efficiently. If you have ever moved before you would know that things happen from time to time in the industry again no matter which full service company you go with. With hundreds of shipments going all around the United States there is bound to be a few bumps, sick drivers, flat tires, poor weather to delay the drivers. The promise as a company is they will be on there on the load date you choose no matter what. The local agency(Meridian Moving) will pick you up on load date even if the national driver(Mayflower– 53′ ft) is delayed, so you can continue with your travel plans. In this industry they do not like to double handle and avoid it at all cost. They actually loos money on the extra work they are performing as well. In the high moving times there is a chance that this might happen more often.

My family and I had a terrible move because of this company. They disappointed us and cost us a lot of headaches and grief. I cannot believe how rude they were once they got the contract signed. They refused to give us the date they would deliver our stuff. Even once the truck had packed us up and left, they still did not have a date for us. This created huge problems for us, as we had two cars with two drivers(along with kids and pets) and didn’t know how fast we should drive to get to our new home. We didn’t know till halfway through our road trip, when a panicked call from Meridian told us we had to travel 1000 miles in two days, or risk putting our stuff in storage. Meredian packers were horrifically bad, so disrespectful of our stuff. They threw our belongings into boxes willy nilly. Sharp kitchen cleavers were tossed loosely in a box along with dishtowels and cups. A box of fishing tackle was put in sideways, spilling the contents. Heavy books were piled upon fragile knick knacks. It was unbelievable. It was traumatizing to come to a new home and find our stuff mixed up and disorganized. Of course, there was stuff broken and of course Meridean found a way to avoid paying on the insurance policy we had purchased from them.
