I got the fish burrito. I can’t say I’d go back but feel like I should give it three stars. Usually two stars means I’m not going there again. I’ve thought about going back a couple of times and giving it another chance but I get a rumble in the jungle every time I consider it. I liked the fresh lines that came with it they honestly tasted like they were picked off a tree out back which was definitely not the case but they were super fresh. The fish was fried a bit too long and extremely greasy and there wasn’t very much on there. The sauce was great. I’m conflicted about Pacos.

UPDATE: Okay, I feel like a fool now. Woke up late(again). Didn’t have time to make breakfast(again). Drove by Paco’s on the way to work this morning(again). I am starving(again). Instead of going to Circle-K for a crusty breakfast sandwich defrosting since last week, I decided to give Paco’s one last chance. Worst case scenario, I waste $ 5 for a potato burrito. I’m part Irish, potatoes are great. Definitely better than wasting $ 3 on a semi-frozen sausage biscuit right? Anyway, I got the Machaca, Potato, Egg & Cheese(#6 I believe). It was awesome. So awesome. Lots of Machaca, fresh peppers and onions evenly distributed throughout the burrito. Great tortilla. Red sauce only again, but it’s okay, their red sauce is pretty delicious. Who am I kidding, was all pretty delicious. I feel bad for slamming them before but this place is a bit inconsistent apparently… no peppers and onions last time. Anyway, I’m gonna eat some crow here and give it 4 stars. Minus one star for the terrible first impression. I’ll make sure to avoid #7 and I’ll be sure try lunch sometime.

Whenever I’m back in Tucson, I stop into Paco’s at least once. I love the basics here: the refried beans are perfectly textured and not too salty like other places. I’m a fan of the breakfast burritos, too. As someone who has eaten at over 90 different Mexican restaurants in Tucson(I have kept track), I’ll readily tout Paco’s as the best for a quick bite.

If you’re looking for good Northern Sonora style hard shell tacos, Pacos is the place. Their hard shell shredded beef tacos are as close as it gets(very good)!

I picked up some shredded beef tacos, they were delicious, The carne asada burrito I totally recommend, the only thing that was not as good was the guacamole and chips, the guacamole was tasty but chips were not crunchy. I can’t wait to try their breakfast burritos.

I love Pacos, I always have. They are fast and friendly, and the food is soooo good. The tortillas are awesome. I prefer them over Nico’s or Viva any day! I’m so sad sometimes that they aren’t open on Sundays! And even though they serve Pepsi,(I’m a coke gal), it’s the best tasting Pepsi town.

They are good but their business hours aren’t too long and they aren’t open on certain days of the week.

Tried this place with my dad and it was a pleasant meal. They served us real quick, which is nice. The bean and cheese burrito was good, but not as good as other places I have tried(St. Mary’s Mexican). The biggest benefit to this place is that it is cheap, when compared to Nico’s and the like. Overall, I would return, but do not expect the best Mexican food ever.

This place is awesome and write down the road from my hotel which is very convenient. The food is cheap and really good I got the shredded beef chimichanga and a side of beans and I’m in love! Definitely have a new favorite spot and will be eating here next week when I come back to Tucson. I did take out and my meal is ready in the five minutes that it took to drive there!

I love Paco’s. Super nachos and ground beef burritos are my favorite. Reasonable pricing. Just sucks they aren’t open on sundays

I’ve been to Pacos many times. Their carnitas burrito is the best in all of Tucson. If you are around that part of town I highly recommend giving pacos a try.

Pacos is simply amazing. Their food(especially their carne asada burrito) is addicting! My bf and I go here at least once a week to get some lunch. No grease. No fatty meats. Everything is fresh and PERFECT. I highly recommend going here if you haven’t already. Be sure to get their green sauce and free jalapeño peppers too!

Bad cook today. Chorizo burrito had giant chunks of uncooked potatoes, there was very little egg or chorizo and the cheese wasn’t melted. Unsatisfied panda. The counter girl was not friendly and stood there and stared at me instead of saying… Anything. No can I help you or not even what the hell do you want. Customer service experience was lacking. This place used to be great. Hopefully it was just a bad day. All restaurants have them I get that.

While the major players in Mexican fast food(Los Beto’s, Nico’s, et al) have diluted their quality through rampant expansion and significantly increased their prices, Paco’s has quietly remained the same. Sure, they only have one location and are open fairly limited hours as compared to the competition, but those misgivings are more than compensated for by staying true to what they are: fast, cheap, and delicious. The bean and cheese burrito I had was plentiful and tasty, not to mention only two dollars. TWODOLLARS! And that’s about what it should cost but often doesn’t. The best thing I have tasted so far is the chili bandido burrito, which is a chile relleno(green chile stuffed with cheese, battered and fried) or two rolled up with rice and beans in a tortilla. Damn delicious yet not greasy or heavy. The salsas they serve with their food are very good but are less remarkable. One small quibble I have with Paco’s is their refill policy. They charge the same price for soft drinks(Pepsi products) as Mexican-style drinks(horchata, tamarindo, etc.). Both come from your typical syrup from a box mixed with water style soda fountain. The regular soft drink fountain is self-serve and drinks can be refilled to your heart’s content, however they keep the fountain for the Mexican drinks behind the counter and will charge you full price for a refill. Not a big deal, but a little annoying. Regardless, Paco’s is overall awesome. I’d give them six stars If I could!

Paco’s Update! I’ve been a Pacos customer since 2002, wrote my first review for them in 2012, and here I am in 2014 still bragging about this place! I am continually impressed with the service and the quality of food. They stand out from other places because of their refried beans. They are amazing! As my last review stated from two years ago, the tacos, burritos, and quesadillas are all great. They fall perfectly under the umbrella of fast food because they are able to get the food out in that fast and timely manner. They don’t give receipts unless you ask, which is something they probably should start doing. And let’s not forget their salsa. The red salsa goes well on just about anything here. The green salsa is the hotter of the two(IMO) but still has good flavor. You can’t go wrong with whichever one you pick!

Sorry no Paco’s for me. although it was cheap, and the food was plentiful. Paco’s wrecked havoc in my stomach. The heavy combo of cream cheese, beans, shredded cheese, fried fish was a huge no no for me. If I were to come back here, I would probably ask for no cream cheese, beans, shredded cheese. but that’s no fun because that heavy combo is what made Paco’s taste good. Without those items everything would be kinda bland so because of this I don’t think I am coming back.

This place is very similar to Nico’s, The price is average and the food is quick and tasty. I’ve only been through the drive thru at this restaurant, but I’ve never been disappointed. Their tacos and taco salads are delicious and the service is friendly. The food has an authentic Mexican taste and their shredded beef is especially tasty. Overall, this is a great place if you’d like some quick Mexican food on the go.

Consistently good, cheap Mexican food. I work suuuupppeerr close to Paco’s and have been coming here forever. The restaurant is always clean and the employees are efficient and quick with the orders. I’ve never, ever had a bad experience here. I picked up food for the office today: veggie burro, chicken in red chili burro, carne asada burro, a chili bandido(chile relleno, rice/beans and enchilada sauce), bean and cheese and plenty of guacamole sides. Everyone was very happy with the lunch and VERY pleased with the price. Good stuff… actually better than Nico’s or Los Betos although I love both of those too!
