I’m completely addicted to oolong tea, I drink about as much of it as most people drink coffee, sometimes mixed with other things like a chai blend, often just by itself. I was sick of Teavana’s overpriced oolong that was advertised as «3−5» steeps but was always weak by the 3rd so I went looking and I found Seven Cups on a message board’s recommendation. The first time I ordered, about an hour after placing the order I decided I wanted to try another tea and I contacted them. They made it so easy to add to the order and didn’t increase the shipping cost because of the addition. So my very first experience with them was that their customer service was fast, friendly and effective. The tea arrived and I have to say I was blown away. I ordered two varieties of oolong(or Wulong as their site names it, which I believe is more correct than my American-ized version) from Seven Cups and both are fantastic, and they both always last through at least 5 uses, sometimes more. The leaves aren’t shredded like you find with so many loose tea providers and the flavor is great. I just re-ordered from them because my supply is dwindling and I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to go back. If you’re looking for a friendly, helpful place to get really good tea, I would definitely recommend Seven Cups. I can’t speak to their other types of tea other than by assumption, but their Wulong is amazing and their staff is perfectly willing to help out people like me, who make forgetful orders. I will and have recommended their site to friends, and if their customer service to their online customers is any indication, I would bet their tea shop is fantastic. If I’m ever in Tucson, I’ll be headed there to try it.

I was introduced to this place by a tea-fanatic friend and I was thoroughly impressed. I love the atmosphere here: dark wood, soothing music and overall very serene. Besides the wide variety of authentic teas, I really have to mention how delectable the tea snacks are. I’ve tried the something-daifuku(the green mochi,) chofu, matcha cookies and seasonal matcha ice cream and they were all excellent.

What a wonderful experience. We were warmly greeted and educated! There is quite a bit to know about Chinese tea and brewing. Beautiful, serene surroundings, excellent tea and tea snacks, including the best moon cakes.

I think this is a great little business and I really enjoyed my time here. They have a seemingly infinite number of teas for every different taste. If you are in for the first time, the employees are happy to tell you how it works and offer recommendations. If I remember correctly, I had the Yellow Guan Yin oolong tea which came in a small yet ornate iron teapot. I let it steep for a few minutes and it was delicious. The flavor was very balanced and the employee was spot on about how long it should steep for. Employees are obviously very knowledgeable about the product they are selling. I believe my guest had a white tea, which came in a clear pot. She had added some«Chinese Herbal Boost,» which is an option somewhere on the menu that offers additions like certain types of flowers to your tea. It really was a sight to see. We came right at the opening time for our book club and spent an hour or so just chatting with tea. I talked to the woman who had assisted us afterwards and she was very gracious about letting us sit there despite just ordering our two respective cups of tea. She said that, during busier times, guests are politely asked to leave after an hour or so, but when there are open tables, people can stay as long as they want. I thought this was very reasonable. The shop itself is very ornate and lovely. They have pots, different kinds of teas, and a great variety of decorations on display. I didn’t get to look around for long but it is a comfortable atmosphere. Small dividers separate patrons from the hustle and bustle of the cars driving past so it feels intimate. The bathroom is well kept. My singular desire that would have improved my experience is that I wish I had been offered a food menu. It says online that they have light lunch/snacks. This was never mentioned to me and I would have taken them up on that offer and paid more for a small pastry or whatever. Anyway, just a tip for the restaurant — it’s ok to ask people if they would like something to eat! Visit this place and you won’t be sorry.

While I agree with what others have said in that the snack menu items are overpriced(hence 4 instead of 5 stars), I really love this place — I have come here many times to study and drink tea because it is just such a calming, relaxing atmosphere. And of course for the delicious teas. If you want to relax and explore some new Chinese teas, this is the place for you!

If you are an oolong fan, a tea snob or simply curious about good quality Chinese/Taiwanese teas, this place is a must. It was an unexpected gem to discover and made our day. However, stay away from the reduced cost tea from the previous years for sale. At least the one we got had almost no flavour, despite the supposed vacuum packaging.

Phenomenal experience! A most excellent place to meet friends for a pot of tea or study. Other patrons are normally very polite and conversations are quiet. Staff is patient, service is never rushed, and there are many different teas available to satisfy different tastes and pricepoints. Not a lot available in the terms of snacks, aside from little lotus cakes… so come thirsty, not hungry! :) If you find a tea you particularly fancy, they sell leaves for at home brewing. Great atmosphere!

I am a total tea lover! I’ve been here twice and it has yet to disappoint me. I ordered the silver dragon pearls tea, one of their delicious deserts, and a savory snack. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the employees are sweethearts! I brought my boyfriend here, who isn’t much of a tea drinker, and actually liked the tea as well! 10/10, always recommend.

A traditional Chinese Teahouse. When Seven Cups was in Denver it was one of my favorite places to get my «groove» back when I was feeling stressed or just confused about my next move. Walking through the door of the Seven Cups Teahouse almost instantly brought calm. Now that the Colorado location is closed, and that I now live in Arizona, I am a fan of Seven Cups in Tucson. It isn’t China, but for this desert location you couldn’t want for anything more.(I just wish there was a location in the greater Phoenix area.) Tea Tastings, Chinese Tea Education Classes, packaged teas and teaware shop, and daily tea service. Their exquisite teas can also be ordered online.(I love technology!)
It is so worth the trip to Tucson every now & then to experience the quiet, calm and lovely teas at Seven Cups. Go. .. get your groove back! I did!

Has a very calm and relaxing ambiance. The employees clearly know a thing or two about tea! Mochi was delicious. Also you should ask them about the peeing boy thermometer thing. Coolest/funniest thing ever.

Excellent selection of tea! Also had two orders of steamed buns as well as the sweet buns. They were awesome! It’s a great friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be returning!

Best selection of tea in town. Great teas and probably the best in Tucson. Great atmosphere too. Many choices of tea and they are very helpful there.

2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 because it reminds me of home. Coming from a 100% chinese background I’m struggling to give Seven Cups the five stars that many people think this place deserves, simply due to the«unfreshness» of the food and the high unwarranted prices. The tea house itself is beautiful, many of the tea pots, furniture and décor remind me of my grandparent’s tea room back in Shanghai. The teas are great and are of high quality, but I really have to ding this place on their«snack» menu. $ 2.25 for one tea egg? China Pasta House 2 mins away sells those bad boys for .50 each. The japanese mochis? $ 3.75 or was it $ 2.75? each? Those(the same brand) sell at Lee Lees or Grant and Stone market at pack of 6 for $ 4.00. The steamed pork buns? $ 4.00 for 2 little buns? $ 1.00 at china pasta house! The«Zhong zi» bamboo wrapped sticky rice at $ 5.75 is an outrage especially if they have been previously frozen. I also refuse to pay for 3 har gows aka shrimp dumplings that are frozen and then steamed in house for more than a dollar each. Going through the kitchen to the bathroom confirmed my suspicions, this place does not have a stove at all! Only 2 huge freezers side to side or 1 freeze+1 fridge and one microwave and 2 steamers side to side on the counter, what a disappointment. Unsure how this place can dare charge so much money for their snacks when they are not fresh. Their tea is also expensive. they can go upwards to $ 10.00 for one person for one pot of tea, but it may be worth the price due to the high quality, but I refuse to pay for their food, I absolutely refuse. The mooncake I got today because I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to celebrate the Mid Autumn festival by myself was $ 3.00+, it was small and average, and definitely cold because it came straight out of the fridge. The one exception on their snack menu that I will be willing to try next time is perhaps their chai and ginger ice-cream, but thats it.

This place is awesome! They have so many varieties of tea and the ambiance is relaxing. Definitely like it as a place to just relax and enjoy someone’s company. The food is ok, but the tea is the highlight.

There’s so much Chinese tea selection here. Very nice people. They have tea ceremonies and classes here too. So much tea here! I got the display green tea. Pretty good, I prefer stronger. Not sure if that’s just the way this tea is our if it’s because it’s display. Pretty tough I got the mochi filed with red bean. Tasty. Also got the peach buns. Light, not too sweet. Pretty good.

What a lovely place to meet friends and relax! The shop is lovely and the staff is so friendly. They truly seem to want to share their knowledge of tea with customers. The menu is long, with many different kinds of tea: black, green, white, oolong, herbal. My husband told the server that his stomach was upset and she directed him to the puer tea. Since I can’t drink caffeine after lunch, I had a rose bud tea. Our friends wanted something light and were directed to a white tea – peony, I think. They also ordered a small fruit halva. Everything smelled and tasted delicious. The tea came out in three unique and adorable pots, with matching ceramic cups. Overall, it was a delightful experience. A beautiful little shop with a beautiful atmosphere. It makes you feel good just to enter the space.

This place has been called one of the best places to drink tea in the country. Despite the accolade, it took me a while to get in here as I’m not a big tea drinker. The tea is great but I’m not an expert. However, the reviews seem to suggest that this is truly the case. The customer service really impressed me. After a very nice greeting, we sat down. But not too long after we did, the girl manning the entrance came up to us and got us up from out seats and gave us a «tour» of their teas located at the front of the store. We did not ask for this so it was a pleasant surprise. This girl was a legit tea junkie and was friendly, passionate, and super informative. She made picking the tea we wanted easier because there are A LOT of teas to choose from. The teas were delicious especially the matcha, which was prepared at the table in front of us. Very cool. Seven cups is quiet and has free wi-fi so it’s a great place to study and offers a nice atmosphere. I like being surrounded by all the cute tea sets. This provides a great alternative to coffee shops.

Seven Cups offers such a calming and gentle environment. Here, you can find sweet and savory treats like spiced tea eggs, rice dumplings, wagashi and moon cake. The steamed bun is chewy as though it were previously frozen, which is too bad. That is my only major complaint. That, and the small amount of seating. Visitors beware: Students have discovered that in addition to the wonderful tea and treats, Seven Cups offers free WIFI. So you are bound to, at times, find a full house of folks studying for hours on end. Given that this is such a small space — something like seven tables — you may have to wait. But the staff here is cordial and has no problem asking people if they are comfortable sharing tables, which is cool. Love the wulong and display teas the most. Lovely with excellent service.
