The hours on Unilocal are incorrect, they close at 6:30 not 7pm. I walked in right at 6:30 and the Open sign was not even turned off but the girl working said she could not help because she«already clocked off». I think before you clock off & are unable to help customers you need to turn your sign+lights off and lock your doors, otherwise that implies you are open for business. Will not be using Shaffer in the future.

Don’t come here. It is overpriced and has sketchy service. The girl operating this building is nice however she has no idea what the cost is upfront. I was under the impression that my clothes were going to cost 1.50 a pound. My clothes were probably about 15lbs tops. My bill should have been around 20 bucks give or take. However they charged me around 35 and it was just a mess. They are not honest. They need to tell you the price upfront so there are no surprises.

I’ve been taking shirts to Shaffer for the last couple of months to be laundered and pressed. Why? Because I am way, way too lazy to iron anything myself when I can just pay someone else $ 2.50 to do it. Guilty. The best thing I can say about Shaffer is the ironing is always perfect. I switched from a different company because of inconsistent results. Shaffer turned out to be better — and cheaper — at this. Why 3 stars? The service. Some of the employees here are fantastic. They are. But I have low patience for things not done the day they’re promised, and that’s what you get here. It’s not every time, but it’s enough that I wrote this review. Here’s the scenario: I drop my shirts off on Friday afternoon. I have a green«frequent customer» bag that has my name and info printed on its tag so that I can use the handy drive-thru to drop clothes off. The attendant tells me they’ll be ready Monday(two business days is the normal turnaround time). There’s no ticket or paper slip because of the green bag. I come back Monday at 5:30(he didn’t specify a time, but 5:30pm is the normal ready-by time). I wait 20 minutes because the attendant is helping another customer, and he’s working alone. When I finally tell him I’m there to pick up my laundry, he checks the computer and says«The ticket says tomorrow.» This is the same guy who told me they’d be ready Monday.

Oh they are such a pleasant surprise after the nasty people at Sparkle across the street. My husband had used sparkle for some thirty years, and I since I moved to Tucson, but they finally chased us away with their poor service, ruined clothes and nasty attitudes. Schaffer, on the other hand, has been terrific. They do an excellent job AND are really nice. I wish we had made the change years ago!!!

I absolutely love the lady who works there on weekday mornings; so friendly and just brightens my day every time. she’s probably half the reason I keep returning. prices are reasonable, not cheap, which is fine I’d rather pay a bit more for better quality cleaning.
