I had previously written a 5 star review for this location. My most recent experience there has been horrible! The hairdresser I had before is no longer there. I ended up getting the manager of the store, Marquis(pronounced Mar-kee). I showed her a picture of how I wanted a layered look all the way down the back. She barely looked at the picture. but I figured she would know how to do a layer cut, it’s one of the easiest cuts there is. I was so wrong! My hair is naturally wavy and I straighten it, so when I left the shop, I couldn’t really tell how it would look styled and straightened. When I styled my hair the next day I noticed that it looked«choppy» and was cut way more on one side than it was on the other. When I went to work, someone actually came up to me and asked me «What happened to the back of your hair?». More than one person told me that I needed to go back and make her«fix» what she had done. I went back and showed her what it looked like. She made some lame excuse about the way my hair was parted(exactly the same as it had been the day before when she was chopping it). She admitted that it looked bad and began cutting again. She continued to cut the side of my hair that was already shorter than the other and when I told her to stop cutting that side and get the other side to match, she made another lame excuse about how she was«blending» it. Now, I’ve had layered hair almost my whole life, and I can tell you, she had no clue how to cut it so that it would layer. She stopped for a minute and handed me the mirror to check her progress. I couldn’t believe how lopsided it was! One side is way shorter than the other and it still looked NOTHING like the picture or like a layered hair cut. At that moment I didn’t want her touching my hair with her scissors again so I told her it was fine and I left. I will NEVER go to Supercuts again! Unfortunately for them, I work in a very large office with about 80 women and 40 men, all of whom will see my hair and I will be happy to tell them who did it! And again. I hate getting my hair cut. Its almost always a disaster and I end up looking stupid or going home and recutting it myself. But I needed it cut and this salon is close to home, so I crossed my fingers and went in. Happy that I did! Samantha is awesome! I wanted an edgier, more complicated cut for a long time, but never found a stylist I could trust to do it. Samantha totally knew what she was doing and I finally got that awesome cut I’ve wanted forever. Couldn’t be more thrilled and for $ 13.95! The salon was very clean, everyone was friendly and it was a really easy experience. There was a short wait, but waiting 15 minutes without having an appointment is really nothing. Nobody else gets to touch my hair ever! Samantha, you’re the BEST!

Oh Supercuts, Oh Supercuts… how lovely are your haircuts. Rhetorical question, but I’ll answer anyway — you’re pretty dern good for a quickie chain place! I’ve been going to the location at Wilmot and Fifth for 10+ years as it’s near my work and I’ve consistently gotten a great cut by friendly staff that always listens. I gave up on having a «favorite» person as everyone has done a great job with me and my ‘do. Today I was running late on errands and got there 45 minutes before close and my usual favorite location was booked. So… off I scurried to the next closest — on E 22nd. With 30 minutes til close and needing three haircuts for kids for school pictures, I was happy to see that they’d take us all in even though they, too, were busy. Not only did they fit us in, but they gave my kids the same great haircuts I’ve come to expect my normal location. That’s TWO locations, with excellent staff that really know how to cut hair well! The staff listened and provided suggestions and did quick work of my scruffed up boys. In fact, my 10 year old wanted to keep his sideburns which Cory nicely suggested she at least trim a tad — then later complimented him on his choice, which earned her a big returned smile. I had tried to make the very same suggestion myself, and got a typical rolled eye look. Side note: 10 is the new 13 when it comes to attitude, apparently. The banter was good between the stylists and they involved the customers as well, including my boys. As Cara mentioned, Cory was the bomb, as was the other stylist(whose name I missed as I was busy coloring with my youngest). The haircuts looked great even for simple styles(and I’ve seen *bad* haircuts from other places with the exact same style on my kids and myself) and were done quickly. The kid’s picture day was saved, as we were the last ones in the place and finished *right* at 6pm, closing time. Thank you Supercuts! As for the cleanliness noted by another reviewer. I *did* see a few bits of hair on the main carpeted area. The cashier was keeping the main floor area clean as haircuts were finished, and as this was right before closing on a busy day I don’t hold them for any fault for a bit of loose hair on the floor. I didn’t head over to the fancy shmancy hair care products so I can’t speak for the cleanliness, but it was well stocked and presented nicely. In fact, the whole place looked clean and bright and well kept — current posters and displays were showing, and the stylists areas all looked nice and orderly, with the typical family photos and knicknacks(limited, but enough there to make it feel cozy). I’ll keep going to my favorite Wilmot/5th location, but I will keep this E 22nd location as a wonderful backup, just in case.

I have been coming to this location to see Cory for a few years now. She does an excellent job very quickly as well as gives me new ideas to try to update my style. I now live clear across town and still make the drive out to the east side for a reliably good hair cut!

Awesome awesome awesome, ive been going to this location for over 5 years, my daughter and her fiancé also frequent this spot. I have NEVER had a bad haircut. The stylists LISTEN and talk to you before starting to make sure they know what you want. Being a «chain» I was reluctant to give them a try but I lost contact with my previous stylist and was forced to try someone new… I always go to Sarahi but my daughter recently got a cut fron Jessica, she wanted a diferent style and has extremly curly locks, jessica first straightened and then cut it so she would be able to see exactly how it will look as my daughter prefers to straighten all her curls out, anyway jessica took her time and the results were beautiful! My daughter was very happy and will be asking for her next time, I of course will be returning as well to see Sahari as she always hooks me up with the perfect cut and style :-)
