My family have been going here since they first opened. My husband travels throughout the USA and his favorite sushi restaurant is Sushi Cortaro. They are wonderful in every way. The food is exceptional and they always make us feel like family.

Always fantastic food. Today we had the tootsie roll, crunchy spicy tuna roll, and two las Vegas rolls. Lunch special has these rolls for half price. Two fountain drinks and everything for the wife and I was only $ 25 after tip. I would get any one of these rolls again. Also, from previous experience, I would highly recommend the pretty boy. Tracy served us today and was very sweet. We love this place and look forward to our next time.

Did the All You Can Eat for $ 23.95. It is couple more dollars than Sushi Garden but completely worth it. The staff is super friendly, the service is amazing, they give you a complimentary cucumber salad in the beginning and at the end orange slices for dessert. The fish is so fresh, you can definitely tell the different quality between the two restaurants. I love the fact that this place doesn’t put a bunch of rice on the rolls to get you full faster like sushi garden does. There is more fish in the rolls and a bunch of other special rolls on the menu. Next time I go in, I’m going to try the Treasure Island, its salmon, tuna, yellow tail with chef’s special sauce in a cocktail glass. Yum! Fair prices, hospitality is great, and the food is amazing!

This place is disgusting! I highly recommend NOT going there… save your money! Food was rubbery and they said that’s normal. They actually tried MY food on MY plate. NASTY! Needless to say, we will never be going back!

So glad to have this location in the Marana area and definitely our go-to spot to get our sushi fix. Went here for the 3rd time and it never disappoints! We got the godzira roll(has eel), otherwise the pretty girl roll is delicious! Casual atmosphere, Great customer service, and quality food. I def recommend!

My wife and I are strictly Sushi Garden ppl for the most part but tonight we decided to stray from the usual and try something different… As always for a new place I go online and check out the menu, prices, and reviews. The AYCE price on their website said it was $ 21.95 and when we got there the menu said AYCE was $ 24.95; When I asked about it our waitress replied they had just changed it a week ago. We ended up going with something else. To the food — we decided to go with the $ 40 sushi platter; It came with a dragon roll, spicy tuna roll, and a cali roll which we subbed with a philly roll for $ 2 more, and 16 pieces of assorted sushi nigiri. The menu didn’t say anything about the nigiri being assorted or «chef’s choice» so we assumed we could pick what we wanted, however it came with a mix of salmon, yellow tail, tuna, octopus, mackerel, clam, and 2 others. We also had Miso soup and a cucumber salad before the fish came. The food was good and the rolls were nicely made. The rolls however fresh were not cold when they came out. The fish was almost room temp. The service was extremely slow and there were only 6 other parties there, none with more than 3 guests. Our food took close to an hour to come out. With the check ending up at $ 52 we were disappointed knowing we could have spent slightly less at sushi garden for 2AYCE meals. Moral of the story, the staff was very friendly and almost always had smiles when they were helping us. The sushi was good, but very slow and warm when it arrived. I’d say the prices were a bit high for the quality of food and service. I will most likely NOT eat here again, but will be returning to our tried and true Sushi Garden/Takamatsu/Ra.

I rate sushi restaurants largely on the quality of their fish, ambience and service are an afterthought. I gave Sushi Cortaro 5 stars based on the freshness of their fish, and the size of the serving for sashimi. I never do all you can eat sushi, and I usually don’t order any rolls, but I have made an exception here and at a just a few other sushi joints, and love 2 of their house specialties: the Lollipop Roll, and the Arizona roll. Another major draw for me: their spicy marinated baby octopus salad, I haven’t found that anywhere else in Arizona. It’s one of my favorites, and reasonably priced. And if you relish seaweed salad, the baby octopus salad delivers plenty of it with fresh cucumber. Their squid salad also surpasses what I’ve had at almost every other sushi joint, because they serve sizable chunks of squid and some octopus, fun to chew and tasty. Another significant standout with their squid salad: they incorporate just the right amount of shredded ginger, seaweed, and the popular everyday shredded fungus, then add just the perfect amount of sesame seeds to flavor the food without overwhelming it. The sauce is a little sweet, but I always throw on some soy sauce.

Sushi Cortaro was a disappointment to me. Although their service was nice and there was complimentary Miso soup, the food itself was subpar. I have had better of everything on the all you can eat menu. They also limit things like the rainbow roll, caterpillar, eel nigiri and eel roll to one per person. I could see that they did make an effort to have a nice fish to rice ratio but the rice was hard and dry. I feel that it lacks it’s own flavor which rice should have. Additionally some of the nigiri had uneven chunking when it came to the rice. Otherwise the fish was standard for an AYCE, fresh but not flavorful. I got the yellowtail roll, spicy scallops, red snapper, eel, rainbow, and caterpillar. I do think that their eel is well seasoned and tender so that is a redeeming quality. I have had better sushi so I believe their selection and execution is average.

The best owners/managers/servers you will ever meet. The head sushi chef Fai is one of the most talented sushi chefs in Tucson as well as the most kind and caring. He excels at making every single person that walks through the door feel welcomed and leave satisfied and happy. He truly cares about his customers and is accommodating in any way possible. He is passionate about the sushi he serves and with one bite, you will have no doubt about that. You will often see his hard working wife, Tracy and their two little girls in the restaurant as well. Mai is the main waitress and always has a beautiful smile on her face as well as a positive attitude. Most days she is there from open to close but still maintains a professional, upbeat demeanor. She has a way of making you feel at home when you are dining in or taking food to-go. She will always make you smile with her infectious laugh while telling you a joke or two. Ok, enough about the amazing staff: the sushi here is absolutely amazing. ½ price rolls for lunch, killer happy hour and the Cortaro specials are a must try. The New Mexican roll is my favorite: shrimp tempura on the inside topped with spicy tuna and spicy yummy sauce on soy paper with fresh jalapeños. Don’t forget to ask for spicy ponzu sauce as well! They also don’t charge for sauces(like Sushi Garden) when you dine in. Anyways if I could give 10 stars for Sushi Cortaro, I would.

I come here quiet often since I live very close to it. I have been there at lunch a few times, but mainly go for dinner. The last time I was there my husband and I went for lunch and they have a fantastic deal on sushi for lunch. We ordered a few rolls, miso soup and edamame. Everything came out very quickly. When we got the check we were shocked at the price since the sushi rolls we ordered were half off. Then I read the sign a little more closely and you only get the half off sushi if you order a drink. When someone came to get the bill we asked if we could get a to go soda and she was happy to do that and fix the bill. When the soda came out we got two and were charged for two when we only asked for one. Needless to say I don’t know if our $ 39 lunch was worth it. I may still come here for dinner, but I think I might travel the extra 15 minutes to go somewhere a little more affordable.

Not impressed at all. I decided to try Sushi Cortaro based upon the reviews. The shrimp tempura is different than the veggies. Way thicker and dense, not light and airy. They must get the shrimp already breaded and frozen. Disappointed!!! I’ve had shrimp tempura before and it’s never been like this. On a up note my husband is enjoying his sushi.

My boyfriend and I decided to skip breakfast and lunch and head to Sushi Cortaro to get our money’s worth of sushi. Typically we end up spending $ 40+ on sushi for the two of us and that typically gets us 4 – 5 rolls. Today we tried Sushi Cortaro’s AYCE deal and it was amazing. We spent $ 43.90 for $ 55 worth of sushi and appetizers. The quality is great, and the service was excellent. It wasn’t as busy as we had expected, and only one waiter was serving everyone and doing a great job at keeping everyone happy. Best AYCE sushi in town by a long shot. I’ve been here by myself before as well, and the sushi bar is a great place for solo patrons!

With signs of a cold brewing in my system, I wanted to go somewhere where I could get some soup. I settled with Sushi Cortaro. Upon walking in, I was greeted and told I may sit anywhere. I sat at the sushi counter. I was given a free cucumber salad and ginger by the Sushi Chef within a few minutes of sitting. I ordered the Nabeyaki Udon(N3 on menu). It was delicious and just what I was looking for. I also ordered a Lollipop Roll, which was Yellowtail, Salmon, Ahi wrapped in Cucumber. I’ve been getting into riceless sushis as of late to keep with my diet. This was a great roll. I ended my dinning experience with hot tea. All in all, I’m a happy sick guy!

I came here with my daughter and a friend(my friend-not hers) on Sunday night and was thoroughly impressed! It’s a relatively small restaurant, but we were there at 5:30, so it wasn’t super packed. Side note: Happy Hour is ’til 6 Thursday-Sunday! Score! Our server was friendly and especially kind to my 15 month-old, who wasn’t exactly on her best restaurant behavior. She asked what my daughter’s name was and spent some time chatting with her each time she came to the table. That is something I really appreciate, because a lot of times when we go out to eat, servers just kind of ignore her(I mean I know she’s a baby-but hello! she’s a person too). But I digress, I got two rolls(Cortaro & Tootsie) both were delicious and completely satisfied my sushi craving! We will definitely be coming back soon for great sushi and superior service!

This is one of my favorite AYCE(All You Can Eat) sushi places in town. Definitely better than the other competitors because their sushi quality is consistent and they are not greedy with their ingredients. Also the rolls are not just stuffed with 95% rice and 5% fish. This place can get pretty busy on the weekdays, especially at rush time around 17:00 — 18:00. So if you are planning to visit, be sure to arrive earlier. However the servers still perform to their best and make sure they keep their customers happy when they are busy. The nigiri fish are pretty fresh and good portion, the rice taste fresh and are not falling apart. The same applies for the rolls. There calamari and shrimp tempura are nice and crisp, not over battered or over fried and burnt. If you are looking for a good AYCE sushi, this is the place to go. You won’t get disappointed!

If you’re really hungry go for the all you can eat which has a good variety. Big fan of the lobster and pretty boy when I’m not hungry enough to do all you can eat. Even though this place has been open a few years it still retains that new fresh feeling.

Best sushi ever. I am pregnant and my constant craving is sushi. I eat here constantly. Never had bad service, or bad food and their ½price lunch option makes it very affordable to indulge in my craving. I’m happy and baby is happy;)

This family owned restaurant has an awesome all you can eat menu! The service is great. The food is good and the beer is cold. The all you can eat menu is reasonable, even if you are a light eater, you will get your money’s worth! I had about 3 rolls and an appetizer, which was more than my usual sushi order and still felt that the price was fair. It was about $ 30(maybe a few dollars less). There aren’t many places in Marana like this, so if your tired of tacos and/or fast food, give this place a try. Happy Eating!

Sushi Cortaro actually has much better ambiance, and is much more intimate. I love on the South side on Tucson, so it is quite a drive, that is why I usually end up at Sushi Garden.(but they are ok too!)…just …not soft and date like… I may have to eat there one more time before I leave. I am into sashimi,(minus the rice) and other things I have not tried. I LOVE this place the salmon will melt in your mouth. People that work there are so polite and attentive. Much more laid back that Sushi Garben, but they do have TV’s and a kick ass sushi bar… I have seen Heather Rowe one of our favorite TV local female newscasters for channel 13 there several times…(We lova ya Dan!!). She was quite polite…
