Native Grill & Wings

Tuesday night is the best night to come if you like wings in my option. They have $.59 wings and you are able to choose whatever sauce and there is no minimum. The wings are really good which keeps me coming back.
Don’t go for the service. It’s not that great and it seems to take a while for your food to come out. If you are really hungry you might want to have a snack before you go. We wait at least 15 to 20 minutes before our food comes out and it isn’t even that busy when we go.
They also have a decent special for beer. It’s only $ 4 for a 22 oz blue moon. So if you are in the mood for wings and beer you should give native a try.

My order was executed very well. The wings were extra crispy as requested. The flavors were good but like another poster mentioned… One of the flavors obviously was painted on cold. I like it better than the other wing chains around here for sure. Better menu, more consistent quality. Place has an unpretentious and local vibe.

Love the big menu! We have been three times and have had great service each time. Family of 4.

I haven’t even started writing and I already feel bad for this review. I’m going to be clear from the bat. I gave the review two stars because our server was cool and took care of us, but the food was pretty bad.
I ordered a pound of boneless wings. Lemon Pepper and Medium, since they don’t have a Mild Buffalo. The Lemmon Pepper wings were just alright. They actually tasted kinda like a pork chop (not a total loss, right?!) and didn’t really tasted the lemon pepper until I started getting the juice off the plate. My medium wings were exactly that. Medium heat chicken. There was no buffalo taste to be found here. Good thing they had ranch.
At some point during this adventure, my wife asked me to try one of her honey heat wings. Bad idea. These things cold. Like they made them and let them sit there somewhere in room temperature and then brush them with sauce straight from the fridge. I don’t know, but if they advertise that they don’t microwave their food here, then it is totally true!
My daughter ordered the Mac and cheese and fruit. I’m trying to teach her the consequences of making crappy decisions, so I let her order it, but man! Charging 5 bucks for a tiny serving of Kraft Mac and cheese and a few pieces of fruit is just really messed up, guys. I could have prepared that exact master chef creation at home for less than a buck.
We only came here tonight because they give you a 20% discount if you bring your movie ticket stubs, but it really wasn’t worth it.
Oh, and you guys also need to work on the looks of the place. I told my wife that I wanted to leave as soon as we walked in because it reminded me of an old VFW building I helped renovate in Arkansas once. Before the renovation.
I’m sorry if I sound harsh, everybody, but I very honestly don’t have too many good things to say about this experience.

NOT ORGANIC! I did a Unilocal search for organic, got here and they had no organic. Also they don’t do gluten free, only gluten friendly.
Mom got the chicken lettuce wraps since we were here. But those on restictive diets be forewarned.

Just left with takeout. and actually 3^rd time takeout has been messed up somehow. called placed order. waitress said 15 to 20 mins. we show up at 15 mins and wait another 20. offered a free soda for the wait. ok i get it. its football sunday. but then order is six wings short and no celery or ranch for fried zucchini. seems as if the place is losing its standards. maybe due for management change. staff of waitresses jad jerseyz on for the gameday. and not one had a smile on there face while i waited. the hostess was the nicest

Called an order for pickup. Came in, and they never had it. Now I see why they avg. a 2.5. Its going down hill…

I could sum up my whole review in four words: mediocre food, poor service. This was the case back when it was Native New Yorker & it’s still the case now. Sad, but true.

Excellent flavor selections for wings and chicken strippers. Bartender Heather is the BEST! Very attentive to the customers’ needs, informative and friendly. I would have given 5 stars if Heather was always working, but she deserves time off now and then. LOL…

Great wings, chicken strippers as they call them, and cold beer and drinks. The strawberry hot wing sauce is amazing, hot with a kick of sweet! Can’t go wrong there! The service is decent, friendly and relatively quick. Clean and respectable dining area makes this place one of our top places in town.

I was looking forward to having wings after reading someone’s Unilocal review for some other wing place outside of Tucson. So when we changed our breakfast selection to Native I was thinking yummmmm wings!
Unfortunately it was not good. Our loaded tater tots came lukewarm with gummy cheese on top that had been sitting and cooling down for too long. Our wings didn’t have much sauce which is disappointing after deciding to get sauce wings instead of dry rub. My boyfriend’s wings were dried out with no sauce and tiny wings.
Next time, Hooters.

I love Native, but this location is not as good as the one on Speedway. The service is incredibly slow and not to mention the server was actually quite rude with the wife and I. I know the cheese fries come with scallions, but I told the server not to put them. They still put them on and did not even give us that much ranch with our wings. The wings also were overcooked as some of them were burnt. While I’ll still go to Native, I won’t return to this location, I’ll just head over to the one on Speedway, which is ten times better than this one.

Wow! Disappointing update to have to share. We used to love this place when it was Native New Yorker. I don’t know what happened. Not sure if the owners changed or it’s just the new management and/​or wait staff, but things have really gone downhill. The wings are WAY smaller and more expensive than they used to be. While the food is still good, the service is a whole different story. It would appear this place is now a hangout for its own staff to socialize with each other (on and off duty) rather than attend to their customers.
Our last visit was especially atrocious as it took a very long time for us to even be greeted after we sat down. (It is seat yourself in the bar area.) Once we were finally noticed, we ordered drinks on the spot. The waitress then chit-​chatted with what appeared to be some friends of hers dining at the a nearby table before ever going to the bar. It took almost 15 minutes to get 3 draft beers. When the beers were finally delivered, we ordered some wings and a couple more apps to share. Roughly 35 minutes later, our food arrived. Mind you, there were less than half a dozen tables of guests, one of which was actually off duty bar staff, so I have no idea what took so long.
The worst part? Our beers were COMPLETELY empty halfway through eating our food, but we were never able to order ANYTHING else to drink since the waitress NEVER returned! She was too busy watching cell phone videos at the other end of the restaurant with her fellow employees over by the kitchen to be bothered to even check on us. When she returned (and our plates were empty) she asked if we wanted more beer. I told her we would have ordered more drinks, but we were done with our food now… Do you think we got an apology? Nope.
This is really a shame because we’ve always loved this place but it would seem that the standards of service have really become far too low for me to want to visit as regularly as we used to.

The food was good but we just left Native and the female bartender cut us off and we werent even drunk. I was shocked. I could understand if we were out of control but that wasn’t the case, we were just getting ready to leave anyway. She told us that we didn’t eat enough food for the amount of shots… who cares. I never leave bad reviews but this I had to do.

Just walked out. Service was terrible. Twenty minutes after being seated we had to ask our hostess to get our waiter. After ordering, we never saw our waiter again. After 50 minutes without seeing our waiter, food, or refills, we left. No excuse. The place was not busy in the least.

Oh nelly. Not good. While waiting for my party to arrive, I watched management and the hostess give serious attitude to a handicapped elderly man who was trying to find a table to accommodate his wheelchair and a large graduation party. I am surprised they stayed after how rudely the staff treated him! Once seated, it was clear that the restaurant layout is terribly awkward and gives a very cheap feel with the painted UFC specials on the window. As always, the food was pretty terrible– not fresh, delicious, or properly seasoned. Our waitress was the same rude hostess from before, and NOT jazzed to be tending to us. Service was rushed, including when she brought us our check as the entrees arrived, even though we wanted to order dessert. Awkward. This joint feels ghetto, and unless that’s totally what you want in a dining experience, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Limited Menu for me because I have a dairy allergy & I do not eat gluten. Ordered Burger with mushrooms, onions & bacon which there was an upcharge for & I skipped the bun & cheese. Burger was good & fries. My mom had a pizza & liked it but she said Rosatti’s was better. They need to replace drinking glasses because they’re all chIpped and cracked

Great food and service was excellent too. Our waitress was a hoot! I love the chicken lettuce wraps! Such s great healthy option for me when hubby & kids want wings, burgers, strips & fries. We will be back!

I’ve been here a couple times now, (at the bar side and the restaurant side) and the experiences were about the same. The food was typical pub food for a decent price. They have an alright beer selection and their wings are probably the best thing on the menu. Nothing about this place seemed to really jump out (food, atmosphere, staff), but it’s probably a great place to watch a game with all of the TV’s.

They always have a happy hour beer special (blue moon, kiltlifter, etc.), 22oz for $ 4, usually have a shot special, and half price appetizers during happy hour as well. T.v.s all over with a variety of sports, and decent, sometimes great service. What else can you ask of a sports bar?
Oh, and 35 cent wings on Tuesday…
