This is my favorite sushi place in town! All of the staff is so kind and considerate, and works fast to get everyone in despite the place being so small. The sushi is delicious, I get the salmon sashimi and it is so smooth. Lunch prices are cheaper and have better combos than dinner but I go to either. They bring out a big jug of water or iced tea for the whole table, which makes it easy to not have to wait for drink refills. They also have good sushi specialties, especially their Toro which is a fair price and even better than their salmon. I will always eat sushi here as it is better than anywhere else in Tucson. If you haven’t been here yet put it at the top of your list, even if you only go for the Japanese cuisine and good atmosphere not the sushi.

After seeing the 4+ stars and reading that they dont have the selection of what I call Tucson faux rolls with enchalada sauce and cream cheese/guacamole/avocado then dipped in panko and fried, etc. I thought this may actually be sushi. So I was surprised to see Toro in the selection and although a pricey nigiri, memories of Toro danced in my head. I also orded sake nigiri and Ikura. A plate of Tempura with salad rounded things out. It was somewhat of a disappointment. As usual accross America, the tempura was great hunks of vegetables with a not so light battering which make for difficult handling. Also fried in oil not hot enough making them somewhat greasy. the toro was dull, dry, and a littl brownish with a slight sour aftertaste. It was not the slichtly pinkish and shining bites of sushi joy I know. It was also ice cold instead of served close to room tempertature. The Ikura was tasty, the large roe were crisp and bursting, the only comment is that the quality of the nori, while good for cream chees and enchalada sauce, was not up to the ikura, leaving a slight bitterness. The sake, which I thought would be the freshest, was not. Unfortunately, instead of the rich, somewhat fatty, cleanliness of fresh salmon … it was probably a day or so past it’s prime, with the start of the fishy smell and strong flavor. Oh … and the rice was a little too fluffy, not very sticky, and difficult to eat with your chopsticks. I will continue to seek out sushi in Tucson.

Best sushi in town! I have been coming here for many years. Yoshi gets the highest grade, freshest sushi. We eat here once a week and have never been disappointed.

Probably some of the freshest sushi I’ve had in Tucson. The Tuna nigiri puts places like Ra to shame. My favorite we ordered was the Tuna Tataki nigiri, amazingly good. The rolls were delicious, however one of our spicy tuna rolls had way too much rice and lots it’s shape due to this fact. This was odd, considering we ordered two of that roll and the 2nd one was totally fine. Rest of the rolls were delicious and very moderately price, won’t venture as far as to say cheap, but well priced for the quality. My new sushi spot for sure.

I’ve been here once before for lunch and remember the sushi was good and the service prompt. We arrived for dinner at 5:30 and got the last four top table. Hubby ordered the yakisoba noodle with chicken, it was tasty however their was likely 2 oz of chicken and overall the serving was lacking especially when comparing it to other restaurants. Needless to say the man was not satiated by the meal. Myself and three others each ordered rolls and split them. Definite favorites were: soft shell crab roll, the sauce along with the tempura crab was such a delight. The tempura shrimp roll, anything crunchy is favored, the eel roll was surprisingly tummy with nice chunks of eel, and the baked California roll topping was unique! It seemed cheesy but really added flavor to the basic roll. We also had the Philadelphia roll and spicy salmon roll that were nothing special at all. I would give this place a four overall the food. The service was terrible. By the time we had our first order of sushi the place had calmed down, otherwise I could understand the following. After we received our first rolls and chicken dish we were not checked on once. Once finishing the first three ordered We wished to order another round and it took three attempts to get ahold of our waitress before we reached out to the other who provided us with the order slips. After which our waitress came back with our bill… So lack of communication from the other attendant plus she never checked on us and without asking if we were done completed our bills. We informed her we ordered again and she accommodated. The second set of rolls took almost 20 min to come out, during this time we finished the water on the table and again it took several passing a of both waitresses to get their attention. Literally they would not make eye contact so you literally had to waive, reach out, or maybe jump up and down like a wild animal to get there attention. We went because we were in the area but I don’t know that we will be back, maybe lunch would be a better time

Well who knew that a girl who doesn’t care much for sushi would start finding some sushi that she likes?! They start you off with some yummy miso soup and they appear to have fresh and quality ingredients. I enjoyed bites of Nigiri and Rainbow Roll. As most people mention, it is a small place, so maybe go here a little earlier and get a seat while you can. This is not a place you come for an amazing experience, but the food makes up for it. The service was pretty decent for as busy as they were. The price was good for what you got. Guess this place will have a soft spot in my heart for introducing me to sushi I actually like!

Great sushi for a good price. Small dining area, but the great sushi more than made up for it. The staff was attentive and friendly, our glasses always were full. Even when it was packed to the gills(pun intended) everyone was very nice. I will definitely return for more sushi. It’s right by two other gems. Golden Dragon and the Parish. If the sushi place is too busy, pop over and get some amazing Chinese.

My tip for management: GET A NEWSUSHIBARFRIG! Your fish temperatures are all wrong. The oysters are good but everything else is hazardous. The only reason people probably aren’t sick is because you are busy enough to move fish quickly. So ridiculous.

The sushi taste superb here. I can tell they take pride in making fresh tasting sushi. Presentation is good and they serve nice size portions. They close for a few hours in the middle of the day so be cautious when you are going. Service is great and I will return. If you are on Oracle Road, I strongly recommend coming here instead of Sushi Hama because Sushi Hama’s sushi always taste like they just defrosted it hours beforehand.

This is the best place in Tucson for fresh sushi! If you are into sushi rolls, it wouldn’t matter much but the nigiri is on point! They have specials on the board where you can get fish you never had before and is fresh! Not too much rice to fish ratio either. Customer service is great and the owner/sushi chef is Japanese and he has a real passion and heart in his food you can taste it unlike some places just slap some thin cut fish on a ball of rice and call it nigiri. I will only come to this place when I am in town from So Cal.

Everything I’ve eaten here is fantastic. The starter miso soup actually has flavor, not the watery stuff some other places serve. It was nice and hot too. I love their cucumber salad. It’s a perfect combination of sweet, sour and salt. The udon is excellent with a very deep, rich flavor. The donburi is simple and delicious. Their rolls are beautifully made and very tasty. It’s also a nice touch that they bring a large carafe of extra when you order iced tea. The tea is first-rate.

Well alright! At about noon thirty I got hungry as a beast running errands(on vacation) and felt like sushi. Light, healthyish call it a craving. I Unilocaled sushi in the area and thus joint popped up not only with the great reviews but it was the closest place to me. The hospitality from the moment I stepped inside was off the hook. 3 hellos before I sat down and the place was half full. Sat at the counter per norm and was treated to a craft at close range. A minute after the menu was dropped and tea were dropped I had a server bowing to me as she set down a delicious bowl of miso soup and some crisp edamame. Wow. The beast was hungry and he was eating in less than 3 minutes. Did the lunch special sashimi plate that was all good and an octopus salad with a dressing that blew my mind. Prices more than reasonable and owners working the room. Beast very happy.

Second visit today. Kind of a big let down from a place that has such amazing ratings. My big let down was the TUNA. Not fresh at all! I get that all fish come frozen(it’s Arizona, there is no fresh tuna) however, the tuna seemed old and the color of the fish was grey-ish/darkened. I know tuna, I used to be a sushi chef. I can tell when a tuna is turning. Ordered the expensive Toro as well. Huge, huge let down. K Japanese, is worth a try if you think this place is amazing. It will blow you away.

If you want quality sushi that is presented with attention to detail and is a feast to the senses come here. Best sushi I have tried in Tucson! Tommy made our sushi at the bar. We tried the Mirugai(Geoduck Clam), Uni w/Qual egg, spicy tuna roll, Eel Avacado Roll, and a few other things. Each was delicious, fresh and wonderful. Give this place a try… can’t go wrong.

Masterful and delicious sushi for a hole in the wall place in a strip mall. Service was a bit on the slower side and disorganized but the quality of the food made up for it. Ordered a beef teriyaki and tempura combo with a tuna roll. Whole pieces of tuna were used and the seaweed was excellent as well. The entire meal, salad/soup and entrée included tasted right on point. Even the green tea mochi was excellent minus all the garnishes. I would definitely give this place another go when I’m in town!

Sushi on Oracle is one of the first places I mention when people ask me about good sushi in Tucson. This is not one of those places with an encyclopedia menu full of rolls. It is a small space and tables quickly fill up at each service. To that end, with only a few waitresses working(probably due to space constraints more than anything), yes, sometimes it can take a while for orders and other requests. Don’t let that deter or disappoint you. The food is well worth it. Rich’s recommendation: chirashi — in addition to fish, this place can really do rice.
