Yummy professional homemade sandwiches! :) Positives + EATLOCAL :) + My husband and I come here for lunch, ALOT. All their sandwiches are great but we eat their Turkey Reuben and regular reuben a lot. + HUGE parking lot + Wine + Beer + They also have a little selection of pricey international candies/cookies that you may want to try if you’re feeling indulgent(we do sometimes) Negatives –TOTALLYCLOSED on sundays… and I always seem to crave ted’s sandwiches on sundays!!!

I’m never disappointed at Ted’s! In my previous review, I meant to say lobster bisque on Fridays — not salmon! :)

Whenever you are in the mood for a home-made sandwich, just like Grandma makes it, or if you could make it at home but don’t feel like assembling all the ingredients, or are just pressed for time, Ted’s has your back. It seems like everything tasty in the area of Ft. Lowell and Campbell is closed on Monday’s, leaving my girlfriend and I hungry and pressed for time. About to give up, I suddenly remembered Ted’s and how much I have enjoined their food in the past. We headed over and got there at the tail end of a rush. After a short, two minute wait in line, a friendly lady took our order and we took a seat. We got the Ted’s Favorite(Turkey Club), and an Egg Salad Sandwich. Amidst the kitchen’s chaos, the Egg Sandwich was delivered to our table sans egg. Ted himself was quick to fix that, adding egg salad to the sandwich AND extra bacon AND cheese. That was a damn good sandwich. I was not aware of the extra bacon and cheese until Ted came to the table bearing cookies(more about those later) to apologize for the mistake. Even if he did not bring us cookies or add the extra bacon and cheese, I would still give everything 5 stars. The only time I expect perfect service at a restaurant is when I am paying $ 30+ per plate. Small places like this deserve some slack during rushes. Anyway, those cookies I mentioned are«Ted’s Famous Cookies.» Upon consuming them, I realized that they were White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies. Weird. Delicious. Nailed it. Step aside Martha, my Christmas cookies will never be the same. If you want a sandwich, but have no-one to make it for you, come let Ted’s show you what’s up.

I LOVE Ted’s! Just had lunch there and it was great. The staff is always very friendly and eager to help. Best ice in the world. Yeah, I know, who cares about ice, right? I DO! Yes, the shelves have gotten a little sparse over the last couple of years, but the fact that they continue to serve great sandwiches with fresh ingredients makes that fine by me.

Fair disclosure, I had a Living Social Coupon. I used to go to Ted’s years ago and it was a gourmet market of sorts. Today, it is painfully barren of much of anything gourmet. Sparsely stocked shelves suggest the effects of AJ’s, Whole Foods, Sunflower, Sprout’s, etc. have not been kind to Ted’s. I got the lunch special sandwich. It was unremarkable at best. Save the price which was remarkable. High that is. At $ 7 just decent is not good enough. Not a lot of meat, paper thin cheese and tomato, some shredded lettuce, standard issue deli loaf, institutional potato salad. Fry’s uses Boar’s Head if that is your deli meat preference. Subway offer a much better value. I get that you hate to buy a sandwich in a grocery store or a chain store Subway, but they do subs that as good or better and far less money. I think most of the reviews here are more about what they want Ted’s to be than what it is. Truth, I want Ted’s to be a go to place with monster sandwiches and a special local ambience. It just isn’t.

Ted’s Country Store makes really great sandwiches that are not made from your typical white sliced bread or only a few toppings, but instead they offer quality deli meats and cheese. They have a big alcohol selection(wine and beer) but you can’t drink it in the establishment but only bring it home(weird). However they carry European cookies and other hard to find goods. The prices are ok so my family goes here on occasion not regularly. They cater to special events and are a little known secret in Tucson. I have met friends here for lunch and have had a wonderful meal.

I hadn’t been to Ted’s in maybe 10 years and decided it was time to try it again. So we did and I was very happy with my lunch. I ordered Ted’s Favorite sandwich which is a BLT with turkey and then I added avocado. The sandwich was huge and delicious! Everything was fresh and perfect. The only negative side to Ted’s is that it is such a cute, quaint little store and yet sits nearly completely empty. They have lots and lots of shelves filled with just a few jars of condiments here and there. I think they should consider having more baked goods or anything that will fill those sad shelves. But definitely stop by for a sandwich!

Ted’s is one of my all time favorite lunch spots. It’s so hidden away and pleasantly quaint. Lots of parking. Nice patio for quiet cool days. I love the selection of specialty beverages, a nice variety from the normal coke, sprite, pibb. The food is quality and delicious. Fresh deli too. I’ve also enjoyed their deserts. I’ve eaten here for so long and I will always come back. As a native, I have many fond memories of quality lunches with my Grandma and Mom. We LOVE their chicken salad sandwiches. They have delicious breads too! They serve alcohol too.

Ted’s is one of my favorite local, family-owned operations. I love the simplicity of this place almost as much as a love their delicious sandwiches. I have been going to Ted’s for many years and can’t bear to stray from my go to order of the egg salad with bacon. Its just too good!

Today I had lunch there… Ordered a «Monte Cristo Sandwich». A classical recipe, well known to my generation. What I got was not a Monte Cristo, it was a triple decker ham and Cheese w/Turkey on white. They forgot to cook the darn thing! A Monte Cristo is built as above but then dipped in egg batter and either deep fried, or fried in oil and then covered in Powdered sugar, or Strawberry Jam… They need to Google their recipes, if they are going to advertise classical recipes… This was a boring rip off of the meal that I was imagining. Ask, before you order… lot’s of folks just don’t do their homework before they advertise an item for sale. Disappointed…

Ted’s pisses me off, and this is why… the building is adorable, and they have a huge parking lot, so why the hell wouldn’t they make a kick-ass sandwich shop? If you have ever been to Duck and Decanter in Phoenix, this is D & D’s crack addicted cousin that has withered away into nothing. It is sooo sad. They have so many shelves with a jar o’ jam every 2 feet as if the customers wouldn’t notice that they basically sell nothing! There are baskets hanging everywhere which is fine(I love a good basket), but that’s it– just basket after over priced basket. Their sandwiches are blah, more interesting when made in your own kitchen. The only redeeming quality that keeps me coming back for more is Boar’s Head Turkey, because I think the next closest place that sells it is AJ’s in the Foothills, and maybe Rincon Market. I love Boar’s Head and I can’t buy that crap they call turkey at the grocery store. So I’ll take half a pound of that and head home to my kitchen.
