Ace may be the place for the helpful hardware man, but The Hobby Place is the place for all things truly hobby — model trains, planes, and automobiles (sounds like a good name for a movie). This store is two doors down from the Ace Hardware, where until recently all this stuff resided.
There’s a very good selection of HO and N scale train stock, building kits, supplies and tools in particular. There’s a decent selection of remote control aircraft, and if you like building model aircraft and cars, you will find a good selection of kits as well as tools, paint and airbrush supplies.
Don’t expect bargains, but you will get a lot of personal assistance and a decent inventory to choose from.
