So I went to The Specialists to get a quote for window tinting about 8 –9 weeks ago. I got a written quote of $ 290 to do the car in the best tint they had. Sounded good. I didn’t have time to be without the car at the time so I went home. A few weeks later a Groupon came out that you could buy for $ 40 which would save $ 100 on window tinting at The Specialists. I thought, «Fantastic, I’ll get that and will save about $ 60 after the cost of the Groupon.» So I’m thinking I’ll get the car done for about $ 230. I take my $ 40 Groupon and go in to The Specialists on Wednesday to get the tinting done and low and behold the price for the tinting is now $ 399. I had unfortunately left the written estimate at home, so I had no proof that I was quoted $ 290 not that long ago. Also, I was thinking that maybe I just read the estimate wrong and it was actually $ 390 and not $ 290. We went to Phoenix for the day but found the written quote on my desk when I got home(after hours at The Specialists). The next morning when we picked up the car I showed the sales guy the quote. He went to the back office and informed me that they had talked back there, and that they would honor the original $ 290 price… but not the Groupon! Ugh, so I got the $ 290 tinting for $ 330. Very clever. Offer a $ 100 off Groupon, and then raise your prices by $ 109. A few hundred people buy Groupons thinking they are gonna save money on window tinting when actually they are paying more. They did a great job on the tinting, but have now lost my business forever. The stereo modifications in my Sprinter and vintage Mercedes will now go to someone else.

The owner here installs and runs the store. He is experienced, honest and will give you a reasonable price for the job you need. His products are not marked up 60% like they are at pep boys or audio express. I got a new deck and two 8″ speakers for my Honda at a great price. The installation was clean and wired well so that if I ever sell my car I can easily put back in the stock stereo.
