So many staff but terribly inefficient. The staff was very nice but really disorganized. Noise level was so loud you could barely carry a conversation. Drinks took 10 minutes and had to ask for them. Tables too small to hold multiple of their square trays… uncomfortable Food was average at best. The chicken sandwich had bread that was more croûton like then bread. Bacon under cooked

I come here for delicious $ 3.00 whisky wednesday, so thanks Union for blessing this town with that special. I’ve also tried their board which is quite good as well as their pretzels which I liked. I have come here for dinner a couple of times as well. I don’t remember what I ordered but I do remember having positive experiences so 5 stars to the Union.

I got here I was craving food and had enough of los betos haha Late night burger, I deserve it! So yes, it’s good. I liked it all, they could have just bring the whole pickle rather than just half … Or bring more ketchup but overall it’s a fun spot with good food even if it’s just a Tuesday it’s located in the middle of everything and close enough to my place to ruin my diet :).

Great place, but the male workers are more worried about their after hours fun, than the male customers in the bar.

Absolutely amazing place from beginning to end! We had a table of twelve and at first they could not fit all of us inside so we went out to the patio with weather dropping to the forties. They turned on the outdoor heaters and we were good to go. Moscow Mules were still being offered at happy hour prices so many of us ordered those throughout the night. We ordered the house pretzels to start off and those were wonderful. I ordered the chicken pot pie. My coworker told me everything was good on the menu. Part of me doubted him because not«everything» on any menu could be that good. As the dishes came out, I watched with anticipation from everyone how their food was. I heard a lot of «oh yeah» and«mmmm» from the guys. As I stabbed into my chicken pot pie and took my first taste, my reaction was equal to the rest of our party! Flavorful, hot and absolute perfection from crust to chicken! My dish also came with a side of bread for dipping along with apple butter served in a ramekin. By the end of the night, we were happy and full while exchanging stories. This was definitely a memorable night at the restaurant as well as for our team. I’m looking forward to my next visit when I’m in town!

The ambience is great here, and the iPad wine list was pretty neat. The appetizers and drinks here are good(especially the BLT) so we had high hopes for the meal but the entrees were a bit of a let down. Heard the Mac and Cheese side was good but I found it to be quite bland. Not a fan. Definitely recommend for drinks with friends to catch a game on their many TVs and share some small bites. Grab full meals elsewhere.

holy cow! I am so surprised I never reviewed Union public house. The hubs and I have been coming here for almost four years, initially we were looking for a great happy hour place since our go-to closed(Sam Hughes champs). We love the pub chips, and our favorite is the union burger, its one of the best burgers in Tucson in my opinion. but that’s not what my review is about its about the KIDSMEAL ! The unions kids meals has steak, chicken, fish and so much more. The price is $ 6.00 a meal with TWO sides and it comes with dessert. My son had the fish and chips with veggies and I swear it looked like a grown mans plate. Loaded with fries and two large pieces of cod fish. My daughter ordered the cheeseburger, it was the same meat and bread as my union burger. The union is now our family go-to for tasty bar fare, beers and now good kids meals.

This was my husband and my favorite restaurant until I developed Diabetes. Of course, the desert I just loved is the Chocolate Waffle with delicious vanilla and chocolate ice cream and chocolate syrup on top. I had never tasted anything so good, and now I can’t have it. We also enjoy the pizza on flatbread.

We decided to have try this place for lunch and all I can really say is that the food is ok. The best part was the appetizer we ordered. The friendly waiter suggested we try their BLT appetizer which is three pieces of bread topped with a super thick piece of bacon & a semi-sweet sauce. This was sooo good. The bacon was definitely the integral part of this app. It made everything else it was paired with taste delicious as well. The plate came with a side of the fried mash potatoes which were also really really good. Tasted just like mashed potatoes. I would have loved that they would serve them with a side of gravy instead of ketchup. I ordered the Union burger that was nothing spectacular. It wasn’t bad but I have definitely had better. My bf ordered the fish and chips and he felt the same way. There’s was nothing that set this dish apart from any other fish and chips we have tried. My bf’s son had the clam chowder and he said it was good. Nothing that would bring him back in again tho. This place seems perfect for drinks and apps. I would definitely skip on the entrees.

This place is awesome — the atmosphere(at least, during a non-crowded time of the day), the number of TVs to watch football on, the abundance of parking… and it would be a five-star review if I ate meat. But I don’t. Which means that my options are limited to their not-as-good items. I tried their veggie sandwich, hoping to be impressed, but the veggie patty that they had for it was not impressive. Their spinach salad was alright(the goat cheese part was awesome), but I’m never too in love with salads(you throw some greens and dressing on a plate and call it a meal?), but nothing that left me needing to return. I know how much everyone loves this place, which makes me sad that I don’t. I’m sure I’ll try it again — it just won’t be my recommendation or my first choice.

Are you looking for light, fruity, or vegan fare? Then… stay away! But if you are looking for an excellent drink, whiskey, and beer list with foods that compliment those health conscious drinks(with moderation, of course) then run, don’t walk, to this cool Public House. I was in Tuscon(yes, the home of the enemy, Go Devils!) for a conference. Reading Unilocal reviews I was please to find this was there miles from where I was staying. I was also pleased to find it was Whiskey Wednesday. w00t! The whiskey was half priced and they had a great beer list with many local beers. I sampled(ok, ok, I at nearly all of them) their chips(in house chips with white cheddar, house created bacon chunks, and a lot of other goodness) together with a neat whiskey and a local IPA. I am not sure how, but my better judgment seemed to erode so I also sampled the fish and chips. It was enough fried food to last me a month(ok, ok… a week).(ok, ok… a couple of days) but it was also awesome. On top of the local beer and half priced whiskey, the servers were quick, knowledgable, and friendly. Don’t miss it(and Bear Down!),

Whiskey Wednesday means half off all whiskey all night. Now that’s a deal! Beware though, it will get crowded. It’s also one of the few places in town that extends happy hour to 7pm, so I’m a fan. The happy hour snacks are pretty tasty. I’ve had the burger, pretzel, and mac and cheese. I thought the mac and cheese was a little bland but it could have been a one time thing. I will definitely be visiting more often for happy hour!

Great happy hour, good food, perfect place to just come and chill with friends. This is like our go-to hang out spot due to location, drinks, and ambiance. Service is not the most attentive and can be slow, but the food and awesome patio make up for it. The last time I went, I had the BLT which was actually really tasty. It’s open faced, bite sized, and fancified. The fried mashed potato balls and chili ketchup sauce(?) went very well with the sandwich. Not sure it’s really a meal though – more like a snack size portion. My friend got the caesar salad which came out as gigantic wedges covered in brown salad dressing. Not super appetizing looking and quite cumbersome to eat. Don’t think she’ll ever get that again… Anyhow, cool spot. Will likely be here many, many more times.

From the suggestions from the Tucson area Unilocalers, I came to Union Public House(UPH) specifically to try Tucson beers. The beers, not bad! The restaurant? Meh. The good thing about UPH: There’s a good crowd, especially during happy hours. It seems like this place is the place to go for dates and things such as that. There’s plenty of seating around the big bar that this place has. Plenty of beers on tap, or if that’s not your fancy, they have specialty drinks such as the Moscow Mule(one of my favorites!) Service is on par with very attentive bartenders(I sat at the bar, could you tell?) and they were also very helpful in making decisions if you’re torn in between. The not so biggies for me: UPH is a little high on the price. It’s how all restaurants are nowadays, more on aesthetics and how the image of the restaurant is compared to the food. Maybe I hit the wrong items or just wasn’t looking at the restaurant in the correct light, but for me I’m all about the food. In my opinion, I felt the Moscow Mule held a little too much ice and for the price of it, at the time I bought it I believe it was $ 9 or 10? I might be wrong, and depending on what time you venture out there it could be very different. Prices for the food just didn’t really cut it for me. If you’re on a budget for food and such, this place is probably not the place you want to go to. Overall, it was alright. I probably will never come back here, but it was a nice experience at what Tucson had to offer. The place had great atmosphere, great seating options, great options of drinks. UPH lacks in food and prices that are supposed to reflect the food. I think there’s a ton of great options as far as food goes. If I come here again, this would purely be a drinking spot for me.

I’m go glad a tried a new place. They have a pretty decent happy hour. They have a really delicious Moscow Mule. I ordered the brussel sprouts with beets and bacon. Love it! I also ordered the steak, which was okay. What I loved from the steak dish was the potatoes that came with the dish. They were amazing. I don’t even know how to describe them properly. It looks like they were thinly sliced and lightly fried. I could eat an entire plate of that! Service was great!

Great happy hour specials. The service could use some improvement. It was slow, inattentive and not very friendly. However, the salty delicious bar bites paired with a couple drinks made up for where the service was lacking.

Upscale and it gets really packed late in the day inside and out. Nice misters on the patio. Friendly staff. I had a burger and it was okay. Loved the French Fries — they were crisp in a little basket so they never got soagy. This would be a great place for a date — on the deck. Inside is pretty noisy. I will pop over and try some more menu items in the future.

HAPPYHOURONTHEPATIO(in summer the patio is equipped with misters so you can still enjoy the night). get there EARLY for happy hour, we were lucky to snag the last table for a large group at 6 pm HH was $ 1 off copper mug drinks & other beer/wine specials PLUS some food specials —MEXICANMULE:(basically a moscow mule with tequila instead of vodka) YUM so refreshing, loved the ginger beer kick —tandoori flat bread: way too over done. it was a bit hard to chew —pretzel: it was cheap for HH, soft & easy to share —fries: standard w/a nice saltiness, comes as a HUGE basket to share —pork belly appetizer: pork belly was seasoned & cooked well! this was probably my favorite dish. plus the fritters on the plate were good too! food wasn’t amazing but a great happy hour spot AND so nice of them to split our bills individually

I will start this review off by saying that, though this place is located in a cute little plaza that is reminiscent of Scottsdale or SoCal, it is still in Tucson, so they need to bring down the pretentious ‘tude a bit… especially since they are a gastropub. From the minute we walked in the door and were cooly greeted by the hostess who was not only throwing shade but had the side-eye in her holster and who was only there for decoration since she just stated«it’s open seating at the bar», I had to double check where the hell I was because I thought I had entered some $ 300/plate establishment… Then, once we seated ourselves at the bar, the bartender seemed much more interested in flirting with some male customers at the end of the bar than taking our drink orders or bringing us menus. Though she did seem to grasp the«service» portion of her job toward the end of the meal, I was already wearing my resting bitch face. Because service is such an important part of any restaurant and/or bar experience, they got docked two-stars, which is a shame because if they had dialed down their«self-importance» gauge from an LA to «Nicer side of Tucson», then it would have been 4-stars all the way! That being said, the drinks and food here were pretty damn good! I loved that they had variations of the Moscow Mule. I had a Kentucky Mule cuz I love me some bourbon and the pour was perfect with just enough bourbon to know you were getting your money’s worth, but not to overpower the other ingredients, especially the ginger beer. I had their union burger w/the potato soup and it was seriously delicious! The bacon jam and pickled red onions added some really inspired flavor. My cousin got the BBB, which was a nicely sized app and also mad-crazy savory! The price points on the drinks and food tilt just a smidge to the pricey side, but you can tell you are getting quality. So, hopefully it was just an off night(there was only one table sat in the restaurant, a couple outside in the sofa lounge area, and two guys at the bar, so the place was kinda dead 90mins before they closed on a Tuesday) and the attitude/level of service we experienced here isn’t the norm because if it is, even if you served what I ordered with a free shoulder rub from the hottie w/a body at the end of the bar, I still would not come back. I absolutely hate pretentious places(especially when there is absolutely no cause for it) and avoid them like the entitled-elitist plague.
