Great atmosphere, good food, great service. Love the patio in the evenings. The bread is so good with the pesto butter. I only get appetizers and am also happy. I will go back again!

Great food — but we lost our appetite due to the extreme noise and left. Our waitress, who was also the bartender, has a very loud, bellowing voice that can drown out a concert. When not taking our order, she would laugh, talk and carry on with her bar customers, often yelling from one end of the bar to the other. Every head in the restaurant turned and looked at her whenever she bellowed. I could not hear my partner across the table, but I could hear that waitress — even over the already loud ambient noise. It’s a shame because the food quality suggests a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, the ambient noise and that waitress suggests a hot dog/beer concession at a ballpark. We quit half way through the meal and took the remaining food to go. Great pizza — but get it to go. We won’t be dining there again.

Best authentic pizza anywhere outside Italy. Other great menu choices as well. I will continue to dine and enjoy the open atmosphere! Great place!

Had our girlfriends bridal shower here! Great venue and the staff was awesome! Accommodated every one of our needs. Thank you!

I don’t enjoy it here like I used to. Service is sub-par more pizzeria than dining, which belies the décor of the establishment and the neighborhood. I’ve got«service by numbers» where they do the«my name is… and I’ll be taking care of you»(makes me want to run to the hills). There is no attention to timing of the meals, senior wait staff is both immature and uninterested: they don’t take much interest in their job or your timing of the meal of their lack of attention to detail, such as completely forgetting my salad last time. I would like some job shadowing so there is consistency and a higher regard so they seem like they are representing their establishment and taking pride in doing so. That’s not evident; though it was initially when they first opened there. Also I’ve had desserts there that were not fresh. Environment is great. Food is okay to pretty good. Prices are too high for the cookie-cutter and average quality service. The result is that I just don’t choose to come here much anymore and when I do I get more disappointed each time.

I’m from Rhode Island(we have some of the best Italian food in the country. I’m not the only who thinks this either) and went to this place while on vacation in AZ. I thought it was very good. They don’t make their own pasta noodles but they have some of the best sauce I’ve had during any visits to AZ. I had a spicy shrimp pasta dish and didn’t find it to be all that spicy. I do have a high tolerance so that may be why but it was very good. My friend, who I was visiting and is also from RI, now lives near this place and this is her go to Italian spot. Service was truly great. Drinks were good. Kitchen was a little slow but it was very busy. Probably one of your best bets for Italian in this area. Has great outdoor seating and great atmosphere.

Several previous visits for appetizers have been great, however going to dinner was a big disappointment. The appetizers were very good as always, but the main course left a lot to be desired. The shrimp scampi was watery and lacked flavor, the highest price item– steak, while ordered medium rare– was well done, and after sending back, came back rare. Service was also something that made the dinning experience negative– we had to ask other servers for additional water– and were empty most of the evening. Maybe we will stick to appetizers and pizza on any future visits.

We had our holiday office party here a week before Christmas. The catering manager is excellent, however she was unable to be present for out event, which did not go well. We were assigned one server for 40 people. Needless to say service was extremely slow, although he did a amazing job at keeping cool and worked at a steady pace. Our appetizers were not ready upon arrival as requested. When they finally came out they were not cut as appetizers. The server took them back and when they finally returned(we were already eating salad) they were cold and looked a mess. The food was not up to standard. It was served in trays buffet style. We ordered two trays of manicotti and both were undercooked and mushy. Employees stated the chicken in the Mediterranean pasta was very dry and the texture was rough and over cooked. The linguini and meatballs was very salty. I did let the catering manager know about these things. She had the manager deduct the appetizers and she apologized profusely. I never received an explanation of why we only had one server. Something obviously went terribly wrong. I’d also like to note that Vero Amore has a sign out front saying« Unilocal doesn’t help!» Many of our employees found that very tacky and somewhat telling. I guess my review is why they don’t want people Unilocaling. It seems they have some management and quality control issues that really need to be addressed.

There are few times in life when you go to a casual restaurant and are blown away by the ambiance, the service and the food. All three are amazing! I’m visiting from Phoenix and all I can say is this is completely worth the drive!

I’ve been here before while I was out in Green Valley visiting some family. Not a bad experience, food/service was good. Solid experience, completely worthy of four+ stars. Margherita pizza is what I’d recommend. Awwww poor Unilocalers. Did someone hurt your poor wittle feelings? Get a sense of humor and stop taking yourselves so seriously.

Wow. Had a great dinner. The service was pretty good. Food was A+. Not a huge Italian food fan but I would come back in a minute(if I lived closer) . Laughed when I saw they don’t allow Unilocalers. They should really specify«elites». Regardless, my wife and I agree this place is a gem! Great job!

I’m rating this restaurant 3 stars because it was a disappointment — we were only in Tucson for one night & this was the restaurant we chose. Vero Amore was close to the bed & breakfast we were staying at and based on the positive Unilocal reviews, we decided to stop by. We were promptly greeted & as a result of the restaurant being fairly uncrowded, were given a choice of where to sit. Our waitress came by & gave us a quick run down of the restaurant & the menu and started us off with our drinks & the bread we ordered as a starter. Most Italian restaurants now a days give complimentary bread with olive oil as a starter, but we didn’t mind paying for it because it was delicious. The size of the bread was large & it was served hot(delivered to us straight from the oven) & tasted so fresh. The pesto butter was a great accompaniment but I preferred to dip it in the olive oil(after adding some salt & pepper to it). We put in our orders for dinner while enjoying the bread — I got the Shrimp Fra-Diavolo(per our waitresses recommendation) & my date got the Mediterranean Pasta. It didn’t take very long for us to get our meals & we dug in as soon as they arrived. I’m not a huge fan of pesto sauce nor Gorgonzola cheese so I didn’t care much for the dish but my date really enjoyed it. The Shrimp Fra-Diavolo I had high expectations for but they were not met. The sauce was very thin/runny & mostly just spicy. It lacked any sort of flavor and just tasted like only tomatoes. I will say that sometimes restaurants seem to rip you off when it’s a shrimp dish but this one had quite a few big ones. The last bit of the night was just a little off. Our waitress was no where to be found so it took us over 15 minutes to get our check & cash out. Also they ran out of ice? So I was given warm Coke. It was just a bit disappointing that that’s how we had to leave.

So I just flat out love Vero Amore. The ingredients are all high quality and it is a great atmosphere to wine and dine. I don’t want to repeat everything from my review of their other location, so I will point out that the food, service, and quaintness is the same at both locations. I came to this location after work with some girlfriends. This location is closer to my work and their Oro Valley location is closer to my house. I guess I get Vero Amore anywhere I am and I love that!

This is a go-to place for me. I always have a positive experience. The food surpasses my expectations and the service is always wonderful. My husband and I have been coming here for the last few years, even when Vero was a small hole in the wall on Swan and Camp Lowell. The food still tastes just a good as it did then. Thank you Vero Amore!

I’ve come here twice and I’m still in love, service is great. Food is to die for everything tastes so fresh and perfectly done. The drinks are REALLY good and the waiters are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Also the desert is amazing. I love everything about this place, the atmosphere, waiters, food and drinks.

I went here as part of a «Canyon Life» group event which had a buffet style meal previously arranged. I went not expecting to be able to eat anything as I am Gluten Intolerant and would have been really ill eating most Italian food. The staff and I got talking and when they found out I am Gluten intolerant, they went back and created a phenomenal gluten free pasta dish for me. It had spinach, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, and chicken in an olive oil base. The taste was really out of this world. I appreciate the extra effort it took to go out of their way as well as the food itself which was out of this world. I also discovered their Secret, speak easy.

The food was okay. The service was so-so. Our party consisted of myself, my husband, and our two boys. I ordered the soup and salad. My husband ordered the shrimp fra-diavlo but instead of shrimp he asked to substitute mussels which they were gracious enough to do. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza for the boys. I liked my dish since you really can’t go wrong with a ceasar salad except the croûton was basically a piece of stale bread that I couldn’t even bite into. The soup was meatball soup which was actually tasty. The portions were decent too. The fra-diavlo was okay. It wasn’t as tasty as other fra-diavlos that we’ve had at other restaurants. Maybe the lack of tastiness was due to the substitution of shrimp to mussels. Overall the sauce could have been better. The pizza was a level below okay. Some items about the lack of service worth mentioning was that we were never given utensils. We had to grab them from the empty tables next to us. It took forever to get our check. It also took forever for the check to be picked up from our table. In conclusion, we’d probably never come back nor would I recommend this place to others.

I love the outdoor seating. I especially like that the seats are raised so I do not have to feel like I am dropping down to a toad stool. With the awesome Tucson weather, you can sit outside and listen to live music. They have a nice selection of food that a mid range in price. It would be a great place for date night or getting together with friends.

My husband and I used to always pass this interesting looking restaurant on the right side of Swan Road during our nightly race home to our old place, we’ve since moved, and have always said«we’ll stop there next Friday». Or course next Friday never seemed to come, as goes the game of life. Today we declared this Friday shall be the day we finally see what it’s all about On arrival I cannot get over the energy of this place; patrons socializing, staff being as professional as they can be, and a birthday party taking advantage of the crisp cool Tucson evening. I’m in love with this place already and I have yet to sample their wares. We’re seated promptly and I put an order of calamari for our appetizer, coke and diet coke for our base drinks and wouldn’t you know– they have Peroni on tap here too, we can’t resist. Calamari arrives within ten minutes, crisp and hot in the center, cool horseradish and spicy marinara dipping sauces on the side, perfect complement to the dish’s chewy goodness. I order the Salmon Sorrento and my husband orders the special, some gnocchi dish. My salmon dish is epic, perfect flakiness without the dryness that salmon could easily succumb to, the chef is a professional with fish. Unfortunately my husband’s dish doesn’t sit too well with him. Nothing foul with the entrée itself mind you, just wasn’t his kind of flavor. The manager offers to bring him a dish to keep his satisfaction, he orders the same salmon entrée I ordered, did I mention the chef is a genius with fish? My husband is happy with his replaced entrée and I treat myself to a second Peroni, and all is well with our night out. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to the manager and our server, who was an awesome young man who went above the call of duty to see to our satisfaction. We will definitely return soon and partake of another dish of goodness in a very chic setting. We highly recommend Vero Amore, which I am glad to report, truly lives up to its name.
