Best Buy Mobile

I rarely write bad reviews, but the customer service at this location is terrible. Don’t expect 5 star service… if you go in expecting terrible service, you will likely be happy with what you receive. Here is the thing… if people do not like people, they shouldn’t work in this industry. No rant/​rave here… just not happy with our service. We went to another location to ask the questions that we had about the phones that we were going to purchase.

They are so amazing. Everyone is hella cool. You won’t leave unhappy. Everyone so happy willing to work with you to get you the best deals.

I LOVE this store and especially DERECK TU– He is the assistant manager and should be the main manager. Due to his amazing help, polite disposition, great smile, patience, professionalism, and true dedication to helping people find the right phone, for the right price and he is a GENIUS when it comes to fixing phones as well. I will ONLY GO TO DERECK because he is the best of the best. He truly helped me after I spent hours with me cellular carrier and they were unable to help me fix it and suggested I get a new phone altogether. BUT thanks to Dereck and his determination/​brilliance I got to keep my phone (in the last of its color) and the problem was fixed in a matter of moments. Seriously love this store and the assistant manager. If you want a phone, an upgrade or just need something tweeked. Come here!

Best Buy Mobile Westfield Southcenter Mall, Tukwila Washington– I thought this location would carry the newest tablets and phones and have stock if the store didn’t, this is not the case, most of the time. I have found this location to be a little disappointing, but I stop in often to see if anything new has come out, then, in all honesty, I go to the store to buy it.
Pro’s
Store is clean
Some employees are knowledgeable
Some employees are friendly
Black tie program (even though a little pricey)
Buy back program (even though stipulations are a bit… confusing)
Equipment exchange (they will buy your old phone and apply that towards your new phone)
Con’s
Phone selection is sparse and comparable to what you would find in the store, even though this location is specifically for phones.
Displays are dilapidated and not working
Inventory selection is very thin compared to the store regarding phones, tablets, Ipads and Iphones and accessories.
If you want anything, they have to call the store.
Some employees are not friendly; (I went in to inquire about the New Ipad and they were confused about the rates and policies on the 3G plus WiFi models.) The guy that helped me was curt even though he tried to help.
Some employees are not knowledgeable. (They can’t tell you when or even if they carry or will carry a specific product or phone or if they are going to carry it, when they might get it in stock)
Summary–
This store is really convenient if you happen to be in the mall and with me being a lover of all things technical. Anyway, I have stopped in this store many times to inquire about new and upcoming phones and I find that the staff that usually works the closing shift tends to «act» as if they are not knowledgeable about the product. I think this is because they want to close up and go home. I try to keep up on the latest releases regarding mobile devices through various websites, but to actually get to see the phone and ask questions about it is an experience you can’t get unless it is in person.
Even though I am more disappointed in this store than I am in the traditional store’s mobile department right down the street, this location is a good place to pick up the latest edition of the phone magazine and to take a peek at anything they may have just gotten in or any sales that might be upcoming or in progress.
Recommended, that’s a tough call. It is all based on what you are looking for, how much time you have on your hands, how busy the regular store is, will you be in the mall anyway, and you are looking for great perks (Black tie and buy back programs).

I had a good experience upgrading my old iPhone to newer phone. There was a bit of a sales push to buy the Best Buy warranty, but the sales guys got the hint that I wasn’t interested and wasn’t going to budge; come on, the Apple store is only a few stores down and Apple-​care is way less money and does everything I would want a phone warranty to do. I suggest knowing what you want before going in.
