Waitresses, when I do takeout I tip 30% cash. If I see Reginald, your supervisor I’ll tip 0%. I could go into the nuisances of customer service, waiting, etc but suffice it to say, you have a 5 star chef, 2 star service, and a supervisor I don’t foresee seeing at any fine dining establishments in the near future. If I was awarding Michelin stars I would revoke stars solely on his presence. Where do you source your supervisors from?

I’ve ate here about three times now and each visit has never been a disappointment. It is located inside Tulalip Casino and on most days has a typically long line. The restaurant itself is very clean and doesn’t smell like smoke(considering that is inside the casino area). From how the table set up to customer service and food everything is an overall A+. I recommend ordering the Wonton Noodle Soup, California Roll for sushi, Panaang, Phad Thai, Congee and the House Special Chow Mein. One thing that I love about the food here is that each dish keeps the original Asian taste with an added kick. If you’re here to play at the casino, shop at the outlets or just want a good dinner– eating here wouldn’t be a bad decision!

So, you are going to pay a little more money. But the service will be awesome, the food portions will fill you, and it will be a fun night at the o’l Tulalip Casino. I’m not a casino person, but the hotel itself is really fun! Cool rooms and great room service, I taught my husband how to swim in that pool. So basically… if you are pretty hungry give it a try.

I’ve been here twice and while it’s not the best sushi /Asian Fusion restaurant I’ve ever been to, it’s decent and a place I can go to when I’m in the mood for Asian cuisine. I had the spring rolls and lobster roll. The spring rolls was presented very well. I’ll attach a pic later. And the lobster roll was delicious. By the way, for those of you who are from New England, the lobster roll in the Pacific Northwest is not the same thing. :) The service was excellent. No complaints there! I’ll definitely go back to this restaurant again and try the rest of their menu.

Great place for Asian food. Not a big fan of fushion but Journey’s does a great job of keeping the integrity of the original dish while adding their touch. We’ve tried nearly every menu item but our favorites are the crispy noodle chicken chow mein, fried rice(they use Chinese sausage!), Mongolian beef, and pad Thai. And I can’t forget their congee. The prices are very reasonable, great food, and service is very friendly and attentive. A bit loud inside but who cares when you’re eating great food.

This is basically fast food. We were virtually ignored by what turned out to be our server, probably waiting 5+ minutes or more for water and menus. No how are you, no smile, nothing. We ordered tea and I honestly thought the cup was going to break the way the server slammed it down on the table. Had the pork dumplings, which were fine. Then ordered Mongolian Beef for me(it was tough) and Pad Thai for husband(which he said was ok). We would’ve liked to have taken our time and enjoyed but it was pretty much the bum’s rush. In and out in about 30 minutes. Smoke is prevalent in this casino and you can smell it in here, not to mention that you must walk THROUGH the casino to even get here! Cook, or cooks, seemed to be throwing a fit with clanging and banging, etc. Extremely loud in this place and hard to hear. Forget it.

My boyfriend and I ate here Sunday night. we were at the casino to see a free show and decided to eat here now we had asked to be seated in a booth and we were told that it would be an additional wait that no problem. so we waited about a half hour and we finally we’re seated but it wasn’t a booth and I told our server that I wanted a booth and she said they were too busy that they had to save them for a larger parties… now I get that… but don’t tell me that you’re going to sit me in a booth and then not sit me where I asked to be seated… I get really bad anxiety when sitting in the middle of restaurants and that’s why I wanted a booth. so right there that are already made my experience not so good . our server was really really sweet. our food was good however I ordered the spring rolls and they were so small that for $ 6 was definitely a rip off . the shrimp tempura had no flavor at all. the honey shrimp was really good though… but I definitely wouldn’t be back just because of the experience but the customer service was really good

Pros: Décor. Appetizers were great. Service was pretty fast. Cons: Sushi was not great(seaweed was chewy compared to other sushi places I’ve been, and the rolls in general just weren’t fresh), wonton soup was bland, everything else we had was subpar. I’m pretty sure they load their food with MSG because my wife and I are both swollen this morning, and we both slept terribly. These are our common reactions to MSG. Based on cons and MSG, we will not be going back to Journeys East.

Aside from black fish this is our best bet to eat. neat with asian inspired decors… service is very good, i like the uniforms chinese style butnot red its chocolate brown… servers look awesome… foods are excellent not many choices in the menu but all taste good, our fave is the honey wallnut prawns, and the siomai, all meat are awesome too… korean beef cuisine… soup is unremarkable… noise level is moderate to loud… free parking by the hotel, accept cards and cash. good for family and kids, group aswell… open only up to 12 midnight and close on tuesday… when you are visiting tulalip and your into asian cuisine this place i do recommend…

Finally corrdinated a girls night out and picked JE for our dinner location at the casino, as we have enjoyed the other onsite restaurants and been very pleased. While the food is very important I feel that the overall atmosphere was just so lacking — needs color, flowers or some light music. Everyone was happy with our app selections — potstickers & tempura. I shared the wonton/noodle soup with a friend — broth was tasty but so wish those noodles were a little softer, and they were in every dish when I looked around! Just too chewy/undercooked. I’m not even sure if that was the final result and texture. Bok choy was delicious in the soup and I have to give Sonny kudos for making the suggestion to share a large vs. ordering two sides of the wonton soup! Monster Roll, was OK, not too memorable in look or flavor. I just don’t feel it’s at a 3-star with the mediocre food. What does give it 3-stars is the serivce from Sonny, he was just the kindest man and really wanted to make sure we were happy. :)

Went to Journeys East for a Valentine dinner with my family at 6 p.m. Sunday evening. We did not have reservation and when checked in the hostess said it would be a 30 minute wait and handed us a pager. The pager worked well and we actually were seated in 20 minutes. We ordered Monster Role, Wanton Soup, Stir-fried Chinese Broccoli, Ham Sui Gok, Mongolian Beef, and Japanese Cheesecake. The meal was well prepared and excellent quality. Service was excellent. We have grown quite fond of Journeys East and look forward to going back.

I was pleasantly surprised with my meal at Journeys East. I was at Tulalip on Christmas Day because I figured it was my best bet for finding a decent meal outside of Chinatown. There was a 2-hour wait for just about every restaurant within the casino, including the buffet; apparently everyone else had the same idea. I looked on OpenTable and saw a table at Journeys East available in 30 minutes, so I booked it. Although the restaurant is non-smoking, it still has a pretty strong cigarette smell. I think you’d have a hard time escaping the smell as long as you’re still in the casino. We were seated immediately, bypassing people who were waiting for tables(doesn’t it just make you feel giddy and slightly entitled whenever you get to bypass lines of any kind???). The restaurant has a nice, modern décor. The dining room looks a bit small, but still big enough to accommodate big groups. It’s kind of loud but we could still talk without having to shout at each other. The food, as expected, comprises of Americanized Asian food(mostly Chinese, Japanese and Thai). We ordered the spring rolls, which only consisted of two spring rolls cut into four pieces. It was fresh and more than sufficient. I ordered the Mongolian beef, which was tasty and came with an abundance of beef. James ordered the Panang curry with beef, which was also tasty. The curry is on the creamy side, which we didn’t have a problem with. Prices are comparable to PF Chang’s, averaging about $ 15 per entrée. The portion is generous and yes, the dishes are on the salty side, but they’re also rich with other flavors. We ended up taking a decent amount of leftover and having that for lunch the next day. Service was friendly, but we did feel a bit rushed. Our server presented the check without asking us if we wanted to get any dessert(which we did). The only thing I could remember about the dessert was that it had passionfruit sauce around it, so it must’ve not been that memorable. I’ve only tried 3 of the multiple restaurants inside of Tulalip, but this one is my favorite so far.

This is the third time eating here with families. The only thing i don’t like about this restaurant is they don’t pack soup togo. Other than that… The service was great, delicious food. Im so glad that tulalip opened up journey west!

We have eaten here several times and I always look forward to returning. The wait staff has always been kind and attentive in a genuine way. Our tea was always full and drinks brought to our table almost instinctively as they needed refilling. There menu is light in choice but the food is amazing in quality, freshness and flavor. We especially enjoy the fried rice which is more like homestyle with real fresh veggies and delicately flavored sauce and the green curried chicken. Haven’t had any of the sushi that we didn’t like. It is baffling how quickly dishes were brought out to us, even when the restaurant was very busy. The portion sizes for the entrees are quite large so be cautious of over ordering unless you are like us and love leftovers.

The family was starving while shopping at the«Seattle» Premium Outlets. As part of my standard practice, I used Unilocal to find an acceptable Asian restaurant. Journeys East(JE), located inside the Tualip casino, popped up with multiple high ratings by fellow Unilocalers. Many of these reviews, upon closer examination, were geared toward the sneak peek Elite Event held sometime late last year so it may have skewed the overall rating(upwards). Since the casino housed Blackfish, the other restaurant I enjoyed inside the casino, I saw no reason not to give JE a try. Dining room: The open environment and brightness provided an inviting setting. A bit of a red flag at dinner time though: only three tables were occupied(includes our table). Food*: Chicken Phở — $ 12 — flavor-free broth, chewy chicken. Sent this back to the kitchen. California Roll: tons of rice, very little filling. If I took a ball of rice and topped it with fish roe, that is how it would taste. Wonton Noodle Soup -$ 8: noodles overcooked and broth again not good. Wontons by themselves were alright and if I had to ever order this again… I’d scrap the noodles. Congee — $ 8: 3 stars at best. Pork cut too big and bland. Nothing special. Bo Luc Lac — $ 13: Their attempt at Vietnamese Shaken Beef. Beef did not taste like what I look for at a Vietnamese restaurant, more like Panda Express beef possibly due to the coating**. Bulgogi — $ 17: Shaved ribeye on top of sauteed white onions and topped with green onions. Their better item out of all of the above. However, the Kim Chi that came with the meat — majorly salty! One positive: white steamed rice made perfect. =P Overall: Total bill came to approximately $ 70. Unimpressed and disappointed, especially for the price paid. ____________________________ *camera ran out of battery so did not take all pictures. **my guess on coating: cornstarch

Unfortunately the quality has gone down, way down. Been here a handful of times and it started out strong when they first opened. The food was really good and you could easily share each entrée. Now portions are smaller and the food isn’t nearly as good. I went with family and friends the time before this and they won’t come back. I was optimistic that management had read the reviews and made adjustments and improvements — but I’m sad to say things keep getting worse. The Ham Sui Gok($ 5) wasn’t fried/cooked long enough. It was very doughy and wasn’t fried golden brown like it should be. Not talking one — all of them were like that. The Bulgogi($ 17) and Honey Walnut Shrimp($ 18) were simply over priced for the quality and portion size. The Bulgogi was overcooked(well done) and the sauce was extremely blasé. Lots of onions and they were undercooked. Chow Mein(extra crispy) noodles were good but there wasn’t much meat and the bok choy was way over cooked. It was so soft that it was a stringy consistency. These are all things that should have never got by the chef. They know when their food is both under and overcooked. Just seems odd that they don’t seem to care. I tried their sushi for the first time. It was good, but again, portion size wasn’t up to par compared to other sushi I’ve had. They were miniature size rolls — six bite size pieces in the roll I ordered. … This is the second time I’ve eaten here — my only complaint is that they’re not open for lunch! We ordered the Siu Mai, steamed pork and shrimp dumplings. Also started with Ham Sui Gok, which is a deep fried pork dumpling. Both great. The two entrees I ordered were Bulgogi, but they were out if it. I had it last time and it was excellent! It’s thinly sliced ribeye beef. I had the Bo Luc Lac tonight, and that was awesome too. The second dish was the Honey Walnut Shrimp. It was really good, but for $ 18 I personally would have preferred to try something a little more interesting :)

We are so glad Journey’s opened up at Tulalip because the casino really needed additional options besides the buffet, cafeteria style cafes, and stuffy Blackfish. We have dined here over a dozen times and each time it has been consistent, delicious and pleasant. Among our favorites are the crispy noodles, won ton soup, sushi rolls and Mongolian beef. The service is friendly and helpful and the food comes out fast. There isn’t a HUGE selection which makes deciding what to order simpler. Drink menu offers a variety of wine, sake, beer and unique cocktails. Reservations are a good idea on weekend nights and if you are on the waitlist, they give you a beeper that has a good range so you walk away and play some games without worrying they forgot about you. Only thing I can think of that I would request for improvement is the noise level when big parties are seated and busy. The crowd can definitely cause a loud echo and distraction.

This review comes real late, but I was lucky enough to see this restaurant during its very early stages and sample some of it’s future offerings. I must say the design and attention to detail was very impressive. The sushi was of very high quality, and surprisingly the Dim Sum. Honestly I am not a huge fan of Dim Sum outside of China Town or your straight up dirty Chinese restaurant. Mainly because my Dim Sum experience at any restaurant outside of those places(even expensive Chinese restaurants in Vegas casinos) tend to taste just like the stuff you get from the freezer. However, the Dim Sum here being the Hagao and Shumai were very high quality and quite good. Sushi was also very fresh. Another thing to mention was the Hou Hou Shou Sparking Sake. I’ve had sweeter sake before(I think it was a brand called Sake To Me or something of that nature). But this was definitely like the equivalent of Soda Sake or something. For the purists, I think they are supposed to have a very extensive Sake menu when all is said and done, but I will say i did enjoy the Hou Hou Shou Sparking Sake. I definitely look forward to visiting Journeys East when it is completed(which I believe it already is).

I was excited to get a sneak peak of this amazing new restaurant inside of the Tulalup Hotel and Casino. The décor is amazing and will have you want to find out who their decorator was. They took special care and thought when they designed this place. There will be a large waterfall at the entrance which I can only imagine will be gorgeous. When we arrived the entire staff and chef were there waiting for us and made sure we were well taken care of. They offered a few sushi options and dim sum. I only tried the dim sum because as much as I wished I liked sushi, I just don’t. I have tried it a thousand times in my life and it just won’t stick. The Saki Champagne was amazing! I am normally not a fan of sweet drinks, but it was so refreshing. I will definitely have another glass of that when I get to return when it’s open. Everyone there was so attentive and ready to serve and they made us feel special. I will be back for when I plan my stay at the hotel.

I had the opportunity to get a sneak peak at Tulalip Resort Casinos’ newest restaurant! We sampled tuna, salmon, and crab sushi. Their was also 2 dim sum options to try. The sushi was fresh and tasty, not to mention the wasabi had a very distinct flavor, better than any wasabi I have had before. Service was amazing our plates were cleared in a timely manner and we were asked several times if we needed anything else. Everyone seemed happy to be there. The restaurant will feature a waterfall, lifelike bamboo forest, beautiful artwork, and a huge floral print on the wall. You can watch them prepare fresh dim sum through a glass window looking into their kitchen. Their will be a sushi bar where you can sit and watch the chefs prepare your sushi order. Additionally there is a sit down bar space facing the casino floor so you will be able to plan out which slot machine you want to hit next, next to the bar is a to go counter where you will be able to get your sushi fix to go so you can continue playing your slots! I cannot wait to try this place again when they open, and it is no longer a construction zone!
