I feel a little bad being the first to review this store and being so negative. This review is just for the ear piercing. Took my 6 year old daughter to get her ears pierced there yesterday, and that was my mistake. I should have done my research and gone to a doctors office or a real jeweler. After signing the waiver which basically states infection will never be deemed there fault but the fault of person caring for it, the manager I’m being told, used a gun to put our $ 30 studs in(free piercings my foot). The gun was unlike any I had seen when I got my ears pierced twice or when my oldest got hers. It was a very slow moving contraption that she squeezed together to put earring in. My daughter was the total trooper as I know it hurt as she said so, but no tears. She wore gloves and cleaned everything up front so that did not concern me. The BIG problem– earring fell out in shower last night. We found the earring but back long gone. We cleaned it and my older daughter’s old back from her starter set, cleaned her ear and tried putting it back in, but we did not have success as my little girl was not having it anymore. I called Claire’s and one of the employees who answered remembered me and said we could bring her back in and they could try to put it back in same way we did. Really? They want a screaming 6 year old as they try to force it back in her ear? I asked if they could just repierce it with gun and she informed me we would have to pay for another earring as they can’t reuse the earring we have in the gun. Seriously?! I told her that there is no way that earring should have fallen out like that day one, so why should I have to pay for it again? She said that my daughter must have been too rough with it in the shower. Are they serious? I have never heard of such a thing and have never had that happen the two times I got my ears pierced nor when my oldest did, nor have any other of our friends or relatives. So they wanted to charge us $ 15 more. The worst part is I almost considered it. Instead my brave little 6 year old decided this morning to let me try again, so after sanitizing everything and numbing her ear with ice and putting some Neosporin with pain control on stud and ear, my daughter let me push it back into her ear which was no small feat and there were some tears. Hated having to put my little girl through that. Will never recommend others to get piercing there. I’m sorry– for just buying accessories it is fine, but after now reading other customer complaints on line, do your research and avoid Claire’s for piercing.
