I absolutely love this place! Cornell is always welcoming and friendly, the food is awesome and I always leave more than satisfied! I’ve tried the catfish and the ribeye toaster and let me tell you, I’ve never been disappointed! The catfish is moist and has a great flavor. The ribeye toaster is well seasoned and the egg is always cooked just the way I like it. I would definitely recommend coming here!

This is our second attempt to eat here. We came here for lunch and the door was locked. We were told they were closing for lunch. We went to Fat Guy’s Burger Bar instead. I would love to eat there as I’ve heard it’s good, but not had the chance as of late.

I had heard about this place and have always wanted to try it, but never could, since they’re only open for breakfast and lunch during the weekdays. I got the Bite Back Combo, since something spicy sounded good. It was definitely spicy. A few bites into my burger, I started regretting my decision. I was too busy trying to put the fire out in my mouth, I couldn’t really focus on the taste of the actual burger. The fries were nice and thick and piping hot(they make everything fresh. There aren’t any heat lamps here!!). The seasoning on top was okay — not as amazing as other Unilocalers made it out to be. +1 star for the ambiance + service. This is a very hole-in-the-wall cozy establishment with pictures on the walls of how Black Wall Street used to be. It’s really cool being able to look at a picture of how it was 100 years ago and literally walk out the door and see how the area has changed. Cornell(the owner?/manager?) checked up on us multiple times and thanked us for coming in. Would def go back. Need to try the ribeye and catfish!

Definitely southern style cooking here. We were greeted by Cornell as soon as we walked in. I had the bologna sandwich and I’ll be back. Simple but delicious. Thick cut Bologna, mustard, pickles and onions on toast. My wife had the One Eyed Jack. A cheeseburger with a perfectly fried egg and Handcut fries. Don’t know what he seasonings were on the fries but they were good enough to bring me back on their own. The walls feature pictures of past patrons and the history of Black Wall Street. If you’re looking for a great burger that will give Fat Guys a run for their money then check out Abears and enjoy.

It’s good, nothing over the top. I tried their catfish. Their batter was different compared to the typical. I liked their fries, the season is what did it for me. Also, I recommend their Bite Back sauce. It’s a paste-like substance with tomato, garlic, habanero & other stuff that’ll make any dish even better. Known for their soul food, yet they add something different to any regular choices, like their burgers for an example.

After visiting the Greenwood Cultural Center, I stopped here upon the recommendation of the staff. I was defintely not disappointed. The food was really good, I had the catfish dinner with french fries and Texas toast. The service was outstanding and fast. The owner also asked me if I would take a picture, he has photos of like everyone who has ever eaten in the restaurant. I thought that was really cute and it just makes your experience feel so much more personalized. I’m not sure when I will be back in Tulsa, the next time I am in the city I am defintely going back to Abears! I plan to try a burger or the ribeye sandwhich.

Amazing soul food. We are traveling across country and have been eating a bunch of junk food. Stopped in because it seemed like a place we’d like. The owner came out, introduced himself, and his friendly demeanor was enough to convince us to come in. The chicken bacon ranch was delicious, my boyfriend’s ribeye was AMAZING. Plenty of parking, plenty of food, plenty of great vibes and amazing historical information along the walls. Do NOT pass this place by! Stop by and tell them the San Diego to New York couple said hi!

Very small cozy restaurant on Greenwood Ave near the new ONEOK ballpark, has pretty good hamburgers and other good assorted soul food like catfish, shrimp and fried okra. Walls are lined with historical posters depicting the Tulsa race riots and the thriving all black WALLSTREET neighborhood of days gone by. Exceptionally friendly(and fellow democrat) owner, happy to sit a spell and visit to make you feel welcome. It boggles my mind that not ONE county in Oklahoma votes for Obama in 2012, not even Tulsa.
